Room is misrepresented

This is just like a hotel room, but without any of the niceties of a hotel like an ice bucket, a functioning coffee maker with paper cups or mugs, and working light fixtures.The “bot” that represents this unit that you communicate with will tell you it has kitchen with a refrigerator, freezer, microwave, and all the “essentials “needed for a short stay. Not true. It has a dorm mini fridge, and we had four people in the room, but only two coffee mugs, one spoon, and seven forks. No coffee filters for the coffee maker. We had to take out our own trash. Light fixtures were hanging off the wall. The resort itself is amazing! But this unit has been neglected, right down to the dead potted plant in the room.

Don’t miss that it’s a rental within a resort!!

Somehow I missed the fact that this is a rental from a separate company within the resort on the VRBO listing. And VRBO sent me so many junk ad emails that I missed the important one about those details until after the cancellation window had passed. The resort was absolutely lovely and the 4 of us had a wonderful time. The room itself was “meh”. The beds weren’t comfortable, half the pillows were 2 inches flat. And the entire time you have to communicate with the host service via the VRBO app. You can’t just ask at the resort for more towels or pillows. You communicate on the app and hope they respond. I asked the entire weekend for more washcloths (room stocked with 2 for 4 people on arrival). Their only response was asking me how many towels we received and I tried to explain we used our 5th towel to mop water off the floor because the sink was tilted and all water drips onto the floor.. I finally gave up on the washcloths. If you can overlook that you don’t have access to the actual resort staff services, the site itself was beautiful and breathtaking. The resort staff at the desk, valet and pool and beach were superb!! Overall we had a great time but I wouldn’t book like this again I would just call the resort directly.
