About this property

Comfy 2-bedroom plus loft historic building renovated, convenient to everything

Experience Charlottesville like a local in this fully renovated 5,000 sq. ft. building. Original structure built in the same year (1805) that British Admiral Horatio Nelson led the British fleet against the French navy at Trafalgar. Guests have private, secure access to the top floor, a fully equipped unit with additional 'getaway' loft room for another bed or reading or secluded office space .... or ..... The booked space (the entire second floor) offers 1 queen bed and 1 'full size' futon, plus 2 single cots if necessary perfect for a single, couple or small family. Enjoy the peaceful atmosphere and brilliant decor throughout. With 2 bathrooms (one full and one half with a third half bath available) and an additional office space with a single bed, this rental provides all the comforts you need. Feel free to reach out during your stay - happy to suggest local spots to check out. Owner is 45 year resident and knows all the stories; house has the history (original builder, John Jordan, built this house before finishing the construction of Thomas Jefferson's Monticello).

Most importantly, Bob is a kind and welcoming host and his property is in a great location Charlottesville. The price is also unmatched, though there could be a few improvements to the guest space. The fridge contained old food, there was no hand soap in one bathroom, and there were no trash bags. Also, there are only two beds, not three (best of my knowledge). If the place becomes more suited to VRBO guest needs, it will become a top spot to stay. Very thankful for Bob's flexibility with coming and going and checkout times as well.
