We had an amazing time at this property, the pool was a huge plus literally used it everyday. Very quiet and relaxing neighborhood, definitely will be back again!

The host was responsive and great to work with. However the house was lacking in very basic items from scissors to paper towels, laundry soap, extra blankets, and a few other miscellaneous items you would expect any house to have. Additionally it felt like the cleaning was lacking. So the location was great, the host was good to work with and if they were just able to address those few issues it would be great!

Beating the heat

We were in AZ visiting family but preferred our own little getaway and the pool was such a perk! Cute updated, clean, quiet house! Stores & food close. Would highly recommend and would definitely come back to stay again!

Great place

This is a great property, not really close to any restaurants. The pool is not heated, it was super cold during our visit. The front putting green lacks a hole.

Perfect Family Getaway!

We loved our stay at the Heart of Phoenix home! It was the perfect size. From the comfortable beds to the small amenities (mints on our pillows!!), we felt so welcomed. There was also a crib and highchair for my 1yo granddaughter. The pool and backyard seating invited us to eat and spend time together out in the beautiful sun, while the putting green hosted a fun, competitive family putt-off! The kitchen was stocked with everything needed to cook, but we also found a few hidden gem restaurants nearby. The home was clean and we felt very safe. We look forward to returning!

Great place.

Overall great place. The only thing we were dissapointed in was the fact that the pool was ice cold… like unbearably cold we got it for the pool and couldn’t use it. That is no fault of the property we just didn’t realize Arizona got that cold at night or that the pool wasn’t swimmable this time of year. It was clean though. We did a polar plunge Twice lol Great communication. Fun for kids. Pool would be a blast in warmer months.

Disappointed as this unit was not clean.

We stay in February 2025. Upon arrival the kitchen countertops and table had not been cleaned. There was food under the table placemats. The kitchen table is very unstable and could collapse at any time. All 4 legs are basically broken. There was a smoke smell in the master bedroom that affected my allergies. I had to sleep in a different bedroom for the duration of the stay. Other items in this unit were generally nice.

Call VRBO If You Need Support

I found out minutes before check-in time that there was no electricity at the property (on a 100-degree day). The host offered only a delayed and unhelpful response on the booked date of arrival (i.e., two hours after check-in time, they offered one night at an alternate location, but I would have to check-out by 11am the next day, and wouldn't know if/where accommodations might be available for the remaining three days of my stay). I made alternate arrangements with VRBO support. The host and I had the following communication via text on the scheduled date of check-in:Host: Please confirm if you agree [to one night at alternate site] or prefer the full refund.Me: Refund.Manager: Yes VRBO contacted me already.But when I contacted the host (who is identified as a Premier Host on VRBO) 9 days later because my payment(s) had not yet been refunded, the host initially refused a refund because they said they never received a cancellation notice. After a text argument requiring 9 responses from me (including repeatedly referring to the above text communication), the host finally responded that "the full refund has been issued."It was a cute property, but if you run into any problems, don't expect any help from the host.

Why they chose this property

We bought property because we fell in love with its unique architectural charm and timeless design. It was designed by the famed architect Ralph Haver. His Mid-century homes are known for their clean lines, open floor plans, and large windows that go all the way to the ceiling. Those windows bring the outdoors in, creating a relaxed and inviting atmosphere. This style of home offers a blend of modernist aesthetics with a sense of nostalgia, which we thought would appeal to travelers looking for something different from the typical vacation rental.

What makes this property unique

This home designed by Ralph Haver, is in a central and accessible part of the city. It's close to several notable Phoenix landmarks and neighborhoods, providing a mix of suburban and urban living. A short drive from Downtown Phoenix, offering convenient access to shopping, dining, cultural events, and nightlife.
