They are a wonderful family.
Very clean, respectful, and easy to communicate with.
I truly enjoyed hosting them and highly recommend them to other hosts.
Leigh and her family were absolutely wonderful guests. They were kind, respectful, and left the house incredibly clean—truly a pleasure to host. When there was a small issue with the original booking, they were so understanding and gracious about moving to a different property. They even went out of their way to help me, which I sincerely appreciated. I’m so thankful for their kindness and flexibility. I would welcome them back anytime and highly recommend them to any host. Five stars all the way!
Our stay here was good. We really appreciated the central location and the walking paths near by. The house was clean although a deep cleaning of baseboards, vents, windows, etc. would be good. Most things we needed for cooking were included although I did let owner know a small skillet and hot pads would be helpful. House is near train tracks and an anbulance station which did interrupt our sleep on multiple nights. Overall our stay went well and we would consider staying here again.

Thank you, Allissa, for your stay and for sharing your feedback. We are glad you enjoyed the convenient central location, the nearby walking paths, and that you found the home clean and comfortable overall. We also appreciate your suggestions regarding a small skillet and hot pads, which we will look into adding for future guests.
As for the noise you mentioned, our home is located in a central area close to community services and transit, which makes it very convenient for guests visiting Mayo Clinic or exploring Rochester. While this can occasionally mean hearing trains or emergency vehicles, many guests find the location’s convenience to outweigh this.
We truly value your comments and are always looking for ways to improve our guests’ experience. Thank you again for choosing our home.

Jessica and her family are very nice and excellent clients. Jessica’s two dogs are very well trained and she took extra care to protect the furniture as well.
I highly recommend Jessica.
We had a need for a 18 day rental while under the care at Mayo Clinic. The location was great as we were within walking or driving to the clinics. We also enjoyed the walking parks that were close as well!
This house was perfect for what we needed for our stay! Fenced in yard was what we needed for the dogs that we brought! If a family member is a patient at St. Mary’s the location is great! We were able to walk to the hospital instead of driving and paying for parking! Will stay again if the occasion should occur!

Lisa & her family were excellent guests. We were very happy to host Lisa & highly recommend her.
The house is lovely and nicely stocked with essentials. All of my relatives fell in love with the house. And even though this house is close to the hospital, it's a relatively quiet area. It's conveniently located near everything. It really made our visit with family wonderful.
House is very clean. Accommodated a large number of people & had a yard for dogs with access to a nice walking trail & several parks. Very conveniently located near Mayo & grocery shopping.
The home is clean and comfortable. Very comfortable beds. Very close to the Mayo Clinic. Owner is very responsive and gave us a late check out which helped my son who had surgery very much. 5 stars.
This home was perfect for us. It was close to Mayo Clinic, which is why we were in the area. The home was very clean and had most everything we needed. The fenced in yard was ideal for our pets. The home owner was very kind and nice to work with and was prompt with my needs. We will definitely stay here in the future if we're back in the area.

Edie have a very nice family and clean,
I recommend.
The house is nice, clean and in good shape--nothing fancy, but LOTS better than a hotel room. Plus the owner is pet friendly and has a fenced-in yard which worked out perfectly for our dog.
Moreover, Bao, the owner, was exceptionally helpful and responsive. In fact, when we had trouble accessing a football game on her TV package, she actually upgraded her package in order to give us access to the game--truly above and beyond!

Property is fine. Hostess is very responsive
We had some issues with check in and some business about a double-booked location. Hostess was very willing to work with us to accommodate and had numerous properties in the area. In the end she stayed late to clean the rental we signed for so we could check into it around 1030pm - so a minor inconvenience, but it was kind of her to work late to make sure it was clean. Home was closer to a main drag than pictures indicated, so road noise was quite a lot all day and night. The home was clean but worn and there were some stains on a towel and the wall. Heat worked fine and we were able to stay warm despite the chilly weather. The yard was perfect to take our pup out and play and the location was almost right on top of the area-wide walking/biking trail so plenty to explore with the pup on his walks. Kitchen was well appointed and we were able to cook and make coffee/tea without difficulty. We felt a little rushed out on the last day, but there were no issues with check out either.
When arriving to the home the grass was extremely high. When in the home there were no information about the home or the area. I was traveling to the Mayo Clinic. We stayed a couple of days and noticed the living room furniture was very hard and uncomfortable. We removed the cushions and look and they had put plywood underneath the cushions on the sofa and love seat. The deck had no hand rails. When going to wash my face the wash cloths had holes. This home was not comfortable for us. I spoke with the owner and she allowed us to leave and we received a very small refund. I would not recommend vrbo because they have not been any assistance. They charge fees and are not available for assistance when the house is not what you expect. I also have pictures to show this house and the things you don’t see on vrbo. This is a big expense to be uncomfortable and have to leave without a refund minus the few nights we stayed. This lesson costed me a couple thousand. Thanks I hope my opinion saves someone else.

With regard to the client's review.
The client, her husband and dog had occupied this rental for 7 days of a 30 day rental before issuing her complaint of the grass was too high, the sofa was uncomfortable and she would like to leave the rental property. I sought to resolve the clients concerns as follows:
I offered to cut the grass(the grass had not been cut as Rochester, MN is in an extreme drought-this was explained to the client).
The sofa was uncomfortable, I offered to purchase a new sofa, the client refused this offer.
The client indicated after occupying the rental for 7 days, she would like a full refund. As per my policy, I indicated, if I was able to rent the property for the remainder of her contract(all or partial), I would refund the number of days left in her contract that I rented to another client. I expressly indicated the client would be responsible for remainder of the contract days which were unrented. The client did not recognize that she would remain responsible for VRBO fee's and appropriate taxes. My total rental fee's for this client were $3100.00, I was able to refund $2100.00 to the client. In addition to the 7 days the client occupied the house, the house remained unrented for 3 days beyond the clients early departure(the client remained responsible for these 3 days), after which I did find another client to occupy this property. The client who picked up the remainder of the original rental occupied the property for 30 days, was quite happy with the property and left a good review stating such.
It is not uncommon for clients coming to Rochester, MN for medical treatments to book reservations for the original predicted Mayo Clinic treatment days the client will be treated. Upon arrival & onset of medical therapys, the length of treatment frequently changes, +/-, in such cases I do my best to accommodate the client by relisting availability of the rental in an effort to rent the property for the remainder of the lease or extend the lease as appropriate for the situation.
I would like to request this review be stricken from this property's listing as: I have done my best to accommodate the clients personal complaints of the property, as per my policy, I was able to find another client to fulfill the initial clients rental obligations. It is my personal belief that the client's treatment length of stay at the Mayo Clinic changed from 30 days to 7 days, at which time they returned to their home and had not gone to a hotel as stated.
Great location! Step in shower for my husband, fenced yard for our pet. Between
Two parks and wonderful walking trail.
Mayo Clinic, hospital, groceries, gas all nearby. Owner takes care of any issues
Immediately. I highly recommend this

Ann is and her husband were excellent guests. They are courteous and took very good care of my home. I highly recommend them and their well-behaved dog with pleasure.
The house was good for us, especially with a pet and fenced in back yard. The kitchen was fully furnished. The deck with table and chairs were great. The quality of the bedding was not great without pillow protectors for the pillows. The toilet downstairs was sluggish and TV not hooked up. Our host allowed us to leave some things overnight and was very responsive.

Great location for Mayo Clinic visit
Lots of room and only 5 Montes from St Mary's hospital. So nice to have a home-like place to go each night rather than a hotel.

About the host
Hosted by Bao Fan
Hi, I’m originally from China and have been living in Rochester, Minnesota, for 16 years — it has truly become my second home. I’ve been hosting and renting properties here for the past 11 years, and I’ve had the pleasure of welcoming guests from all over the world.
I enjoy meeting people from different backgrounds and take pride in providing a clean, comfortable, and welcoming space for everyone.
I’m also a big animal lover and have two adorable dogs of my own. I understand how much pets mean to their owners — they’re more than companions, they’re family. That’s why I gladly welcome guests traveling with pets, and I hope my home can feel like a second home for both you and your furry friend. In the past, I struggled a lot because my English isn’t very good. I often had trouble communicating with guests, and sometimes that led to misunderstandings. It was painful — not because I didn’t care, but because I couldn’t find the right words to express myself. My heart has always been warm and open, but I often felt frustrated and even discouraged when I couldn’t connect the way I wanted to.
There were times I felt like giving up on this hosting journey. But hosting is part of my life, and I knew I had to keep going.
Now, I’m grateful to have the help of ChatGPT. It helps me express my thoughts more clearly and respond more fully to guests’ needs. I truly feel that I can connect better than ever before, and that brings me so much joy. If you ever have questions or special requests, please feel free to message me — I’m always happy to respond with care and support.
Why they chose this property
I chose this neighborhood because it’s perfectly located for guests visiting the Mayo Clinic. It takes about 15 minutes to walk to either the main Mayo building (including the Gonda Building) or St. Mary’s Hospital, and just around 5 minutes if driving.
The house is also very close to a peaceful local park and a shopping area, so it’s easy to go for a walk, pick up groceries, or simply relax.
Another reason I love this home is the layout. The main floor has three bedrooms, one bathroom, a kitchen, and a living room — all on one level. Most of my guests are Mayo patients recovering from surgery, and they really appreciate not having to use stairs. There are only one or two small steps to enter the main level, which makes it much easier and safer for them.
Even more importantly, the house has a fully fenced backyard with a secure gate. It’s perfect for guests who bring pets — they can safely enjoy the outdoors without worry. The backyard also offers a peaceful space for relaxing, drinking tea, reading a book, or enjoying a small BBQ during warmer seasons. Many guests have told me this outdoor space makes them feel truly at home.
Finally, I feel very lucky to have such kind and caring neighbors. Becky and Paul have helped me in many ways — mowing the lawn, taking out the trash bins, and keeping an eye on the house when needed. Becky even bakes delicious treats to share with everyone on the block. Their warmth and generosity are part of what makes this neighborhood so special to me.
