That's What Sea Said – Pet-Friendly Paradise Just 300 Yards from 2 beach accesses! Newly renovated 2-bedroom (sleeps 6) getaway where humans get ocean views and pets get a massive backyard to rule! Featuring an extra-large Jack-and-Jill shower (big enough to dance in, but we won’t judge), private toilets and vanities for each room (no awkward line-ups), and 4 balconies so you can argue over who gets the best view. With an outdoor shower, charcoal grills, and just a short stroll to the sand, it's the paw-fect spot to wag tails and soak up the sun!

This house has it all! Rinse off sandy toes (and paws) in the outdoor shower, then swing into relaxation—literally, because there’s a bench swing. The open floor plan means everyone gets to feel like a part of the action! Park your ride in the carport and claim the best seat in front of the 75-inch TV! Movie nights here might just rival the beach… okay, maybe not, but they come close.

Strip any used beds, gather used towels and store extra beds
Remove personal items, remove leftover food and drinks and take out the rubbish
Turn off the lights and lock the doors
Put all towels & linens in shower Turn off all lights and lock all doors Adjust thermostat - 72 in the summer and 55 in the winter
Remove all items in the fridge and cabinets Wash and put away all dirty kitchen items Take out trash and put in receptacle the take the trash can to the curb.
If you bring your pet you are required to clean up after them, $50 fine if we have to call a company to clean it up.
Failure to complete these may result in a negative review from the host.

We had a great trip, wish we could've stayed longer. The house is a 5 minute walk from the beach and it was very easy to go back and forth with the kids. It is very cozy and well stocked. They even left a basket of goodies for our 3 kids. Hope we can come back again!

Honeymoon Heaven!

We loved staying at this beach bungalow for a few nights. We grilled in the backyard, found lots of shark teeth with the beach a walk away, and we adored the decor and coziness of our rental. We would love to come again and bring our dog!

We could feel the care put into this home- from the clean space to the brand new appliances. The location was perfect! We loved being able to simply grab a chair and simply stroll to the beach, especially at night under the glow of the full moon! Peaceful uncrowded and truly magical!

Great place for a small family and dog. Home is clean and well stocked with everything you need for the week. The fenced in back yard makes it easy for a quick bathroom break and the location is great for longer walks. Beach access is close, not hard to find. Loved being able to see the ocean from the upper level.

Cottage fully furnished. Very updated and clean. Convenient and close to beach access. Quiet street to walk. Great shower. One of the best features and surprises was the fenced backyard. Our Boykin Spaniel, Siena, really enjoyed it. Enjoyed watching the wildlife in the back natural area from the deck. Rabbits, and Raccoons, and Deer, Oh My!!

This is a charming and extremely comfortable place! The decor and thoughtful touches make it a superior choice. We had two dogs with us and the set-up couldn’t have been better. Very convenient and safe for our fur babies. The home is well cared for—clean, beautiful, very comfortable. We used all four decks and enjoyed each one. It’s a short walk to the beach and the green space behind the fenced in back yard was especially nice.We will be back!!

Loved “ that’s what sea said”

The host was very responsive when we had any questions. The house was well kept and including a lot of amenities. Love that there was no houses behind us and had deer grazing in the shrubs behind the property. It was also a very quick walk to the beach which we loved. We will definitely return to this property in the future.

Great location

I absolutely loved my stay at this property. First of all, it's a very nice house and decorated super cute. It was a very short walk to the beach every day. I also walked every morning through the neighborhood and that was so nice. I brought my dog with me and while we were not able to utilize the backyard for her potty due to the sand spurs, we were able to walk out front and down the street for that. I would definitely return to this property in the future. I really enjoyed my stay.

We stayed here for our annual Girl’s trip and we loved it! The condo was clean, well kept and beautifully decorated. The outdoor shower was a big hit when coming in off the beach. There was a small issue with the dishwasher but the owner responded right away and sent out a handyman to fix it for us. The beds were comfy and the roll away bed were easy to fold out to use. The kitchen was well equipped for light cooking and the kitchen table was big enough for us all to sit comfortably. The living room couch is great with recliners on each end. It’s a nice place to stay- not too far from the beach.

Amazing getaway!

I wanted to take my son on a mom and me trip to the beach and That’s What Sea Said was the PERFECT place! The house was immaculately clean, the kitchen was extremely well stocked and we loved the views from the different porches and balconies. Getting to the beach was a quick, easy walk. Ashley, the host, was very quick and friendly at responding to any questions I had. I would absolutely recommend this place to others. Between seeing dolphins in the ocean and deer in the backyard, finding seashells, and playing in the ocean, my son and I had the BEST time here this week. I look forward to bringing my whole family here soon.

Family Vacation

We travel every year to the beach over the summer and Labor Day.This was our second time staying at Holden Beach. The house was absolutely perfect for my family. It was super cute inside and out. We got to bring our dogs with us which is s bonus. Its hard to leave the fur babies behind. I loved that the bedrooms are upstairs away from the living area. This was wonderful for those who wanted a nap. We had everything we needed. The outside shower was quite convenient to get sand off before going inside. For moms with teen boys, you will appreciate that there are 3 bathrooms for sure!It was awesome seeing deer out back in the mornings while having coffee. A very short walk to the beach. The owners are very kind and quick to respond to messages. I sent several messages asking questions leading up to the trip. Check in and out was easy. I will definitely be back for another trip.

That’s What Sea Said, Indeed!

This was our first time in Holden Beach. We came to meet some family who vacation here frequently. That’s What Sea Said was near the unit they rented so a good location for us just a short drive for groceries and restaurants as well as a short walk out to the beach. The unit offered multiple balconies with views of the ocean. We also were treated to multiple views of a Mama Dear and her fawns out back! We appreciated the great AC, the huge tv in the living room area plus TV’s in the bedrooms, the nicely appointed kitchen with everything imaginable, and the sweet Welcome Basket! The shower upstairs was wonderful with great water pressure and more than adequate hot water. Ample, covered parking, the keyless entry, labels on some light switches, and the host’s prompt responsiveness to our questions as well as the tutorial on shell collecting made our short stay very enjoyable. Thx! We hope to be back!

We’re a couple from North Carolina with two dogs who think they own the place (spoiler: they kind of do). We fell head over heels for Holden Beach because it’s the perfect blend of tranquil beauty and beachy charm—basically, it’s the chill vibes you didn’t know you needed. After spending a few sunsets here, we knew we had to share this little slice of paradise with others (and maybe convince our dogs to share, too). Hosting lets us connect with amazing people who, like us, appreciate sandy paws, ocean breezes, and a backyard big enough for both fetch and BBQs

Why they chose this property

We chose Holden Beach because it’s like the Goldilocks of beach towns—not too crowded, not too loud, but juuust right. Even on holidays, the beach is so clean and peaceful you’ll wonder if you somehow scored a private island (spoiler: you didn’t, but it feels that way). The island is so narrow that whether you’re headed to the beach or back to grab ice cream or dinner, it’s a breeze—no marathon treks here! Holden is all about family fun and laid-back vibes, with zero spring break party chaos. It’s a quaint, charming escape where the loudest thing you’ll hear is the ocean (or your dog demanding another walk). Trust us, it’s the kind of place you never want to leave—but hey, we can’t say we didn’t warn you!

What makes this property unique

What makes That’s What Sea Said stand out? Well, for starters, we’ve got FOUR balconies. That’s right, four. Enough for everyone to have their own private perch to sip coffee, watch the ocean, or shout, 'This is the life!' Our backyard is so big it could double as a dog park (or a soccer field if your pup’s not into fetch). The open floor plan means you’ll never miss out on the fun—or the snack bowl. And let’s not forget, we’re practically a stone’s throw from the beach (depending on how good your arm is). Just sit outside, and you’ll hear the waves calling you—probably with a side of seagull commentary. Oh, and did we mention we’re pet-friendly? We love making it easy for you to bring your four-legged family members because vacations are better with wagging tails and happy paws!
