Visiting Carson-Newman

My daughter and I needed a place to stay for her in-person registration at Carson-Newman.The Lodge was so close, we could have walked so it was super convenient. We stayed in the Magistrate Room and it was gorgeous. You could tell the renovation was recent because scoring looks brand new. Despite the newness, it still has a lot of charm. They did a great job incorporating original architecture and design with the revitalization of the space. There were so many homey touches that made our experience a good one. There were two bottles of water, freshly baked oatmeal-raisin cookies, a Keureg and K-pods. The bed was comfortable and the sheets were very nice. The only thing that threw me off a little was the fact that it was managed more as a vacation rental than a lodge. I originally found the listing on Hotels.com. That, coupled with the name, The Lodge gave me the impression there would be people in the building running the place when we got there. Nobody wider had booked the other two rooms available so we had the entire place to ourselves. It was nice at first but made me a little nervous after dark since my daughter and I were traveling alone. That being said, I know we were safe because there was a code to get into the building and another code to get in our room. I just didn't realize we would be by ourselves when we booked it.We truly did love our stay and the room. I look forward to staying here with my husband when we are in town visiting my daughter at school.
