The cabin was lovely and pet friendly, just the right size for a long weekend stay. Everything you need to be comfortable and the property was beautiful.
Thoroughly enjoyed our stay! It was great to be able to explore the property as well as take in the senic views. The seclusion made for a peaceful, relaxing vacation. Definitely would book again!
My wife, two dogs and myself had a wonderful time staying here. There is a lot to explore on the property and even more to explore in the surrounding area. Would definitely come back again!
Such a clean and beautiful cabin. You had everything needed to enjoy your stay. Fishing was amazing and so was the view. The waterfalls are beautiful. The host is amazing and very attentive with any questions that you may have.
We spent a week in the cabin, and it was really enjoyable stay. River and waterfalls are beautiful. We enjoyed swimming very much, the water was cold and refreshing.
We needed a mountain getaway and this place delivered in spades! The cabin provided all the basics needed, but the forest was the real gem. We had our pick of three waterfalls to relax near, one a little more of a hike than the others but relatively easily accessed. Morning coffee and yoga by the creek was perfect and I wish we never had to come home. 10/10 would always recommend!
The property is beautiful and peaceful. We stayed in the cabin which was very clean and rustic. We lucked out with the weather and it was cooler in the evenings with a nice breeze. This was appreciated as there is no air conditioning in the cabin. A fan worked out perfect. Great for hiking and enjoying the outdoors.
We had a wonderful stay at the cabin. It was so cute and quaint and the location was beyone beautiful. It was super hot- there is no air conditioning- so that was a little rough during a heat wave- but we still had a great experience!
We rented the cabin while our friends rented the lodge. This was the perfect getaway retreat. We hiked, grilled, sat by the outdoor fire pit while making smores, relaxed in tubes at the watering hole. We can't wait to come back again!

I arrived and it was less than expected. The only chair to sit in was a wooden kitchen chair. If I had any interest in reading, I would need to use a flashlight, given the poor lighting in the room. The refrigerator looked like it had been picked up of the curb outside of college dormitory on moveout day 10 years ago. Ditto the microwave. I unloaded and went to build a fire in the fireplace. There was a minimal amount of wood and no kindling. I contacted the owner and was told that I could look under the buried snow outside the empty woodshed or go to a local hardware store and purchase some.Unfortunately the Fire Wood outside the empty woodshed was frozen together and frankly not very usable in any case. Using kindling from downed branches I built a small fire in the fireplace only to discover that the flu was closed and there did not seem to be any way of opening. While I aired out’s the cabin, I again contacted the owner for some instructions on opening the flu and received none. I took this as a sign from God and left, not spending a single night in the place.

Sometimes there are guests we are not able to please. The guest apparently did not see the instructions for opening the fireplace flue or understand that we did not provide firewood for the fireplace, other than what the guest could forage on the property. The Cabin has a ceiling light, two wall sconces, and two table lamps. The mini-fridge and microwave are just that, and exactly as advertised. Every response from the guest was responded to promptly; when we did not hear back, we sent our property manager to the site and discovered the guest had already left. We are sorry his experience was a disappointment.
My husband, dog and I had a great trip. We loved that we had so much land to explore without the crowds of the known trails. The cabin was cozy and just perfect for the three of us. The owners were great and very helpful. We grilled and had s'mores at the fire pit :) Would highly recommend for those that love the outdoors.
Cozy, rustic cabin was perfect for a weekend getaway for my husband and I. You can hear the little waterfall from the cabin and we were the only ones staying on the property for the weekend. As the listing describes there are two other buildings, so it would be different if there were other guests on those spaces, as they are pretty close together. Will definitely consider staying again, and possibly even gathering a larger group to rent all 3 buildings. Great location close to Milford and Grey Towers, and tons of hiking trails nearby. We explored along the creek on the property but it started raining so not sure how far the trail goes up the creek.
Our weekend was exactly what we were looking for. A quiet cabin in the woods where our dogs could run and we can relax by a fire. It had everything we needed for just the two of us. And the pups absolutely loved running through the snow and exploring the property! Our host was available and always responded quickly to answer our questions. It was clean and cozy and absolutely perfect. We did explore the town and found some great places to eat as well. We will 100% be back and can’t wait!
We rented all three cabins (lodge, cabin and cottage) at Dwarfskill Preserve for a family gathering: 8 adults, two young kids, and two big dogs. It was the most beautiful, peaceful setting for a wonderful, relaxed and relaxing holiday, and the owners were warm, welcoming, and helpful throughout our stay. Easily accessible and yet incredibly private, Dwarskill Preserve offers 500+ acres of diverse woodland, meadows, creek, waterfalls and swimming holes. The cabins are all old (in a good way), reasonably well maintained and well outfitted with good kitchen equipment and hotel-quality bedding and towels. I can highly recommend it for a very special getaway.

Happy Couple
This cabin was perfect to take time off from everyday's chores and enjoy a good time off. The cabin is small and very warm if you decide to use the fireplace or the available heating system. We almost exclusively used the fireplace and with the right lighting and music we decided to get engaged. This cabin will always have a special place in our hearts and we can only hope that other couples can feel as comfortable as we did.
The property is fantastic and secluded enough to have no worries.
One last tip... Please enjoy Milford it is a great little town.
It is exactly as described on the website. The check-in process was wonderful, and the property manager was wonderful. Just a few minor things to be aware of, if they happen to matter to you. The cabin windows are small, I would have liked some kind of a view, especially as the rain trapped me inside one day. And the swimming hole was a raging river when I was there, again due to the rain. The cabin is quite tiny. For one person, it was cramped. For two people, they would have to like each other a lot... This is probably best for young, adventurous types, not single old ladies like me.
Loved the cozy cabin and grounds. Engages all your senses from the sounds of the waterfalls, crackling fire, to the wood smoke (assuming you've built the fire close to the back of the firebox), to the gorgeous grounds to explore, to the comfortable bed to recover in. Trails need a little maintenance and cabin a brighter interior light but can't really think of anything more to make this the perfect getaway!
I had a few days off from work in Manhattan. This place was a short 90 minute drive. I own property in the Adirondack mountains but it's locked up for winter, this place felt so much like home. I really enjoyed using the fireplace especially on the first night, when it was rainy and misty. The next day was a lovely 60 degrees and I hiked all around this beautiful property. There are many places to just sit and relax, read a book and enjoy nature. There are multiple waterfalls and cool rock formations, a swimming hole with Adirondack chairs on a deck over the water.. The fresh air and scent of pine is lovely. I can't say enough good things about this property, it was exactly what I needed.
The cabin has a comfy bed. The kitchenette has everything you need. I kept cooking simple such as grilled cheese and soup, oatmeal, prepared chicken and rice etc. There are also multiple places to eat/shop that aren't too far. I thoroughly enjoyed my stay and would love to visit again. I met Megan and she is so pleasant and explained all I needed and gave me some great tips.
Tiny cabin in the woods. Everything was great. I think I would like it better in the summer to enjoy the water behind the property.

Owner is a writer and investor who lives in nearby Milford and New York City. Loves dogs, nature, reading and gentle, kind people.
Why they chose this property
I bought the property because it is exceedingly private, evokes a spiritual connection to nature and it is movie-set gorgeous. It is also close to NYC, only 75 miles away, but it feels like you’re in the Canadian northwoods or somewhere far away from the stresses and pressures of urban life.
What makes this property unique
Mushrooming; trout fishing; hiking; wildlife including black bear, deer, wild turkey, mountain lion. Very few mosquitoes (the bats eat them.)
Pond; stream; waterfall; swimming hole. Exceptional privacy, half-mile long driveway.
The Historic Village of Milford - the birthplace of the American Conservation movement - is only 6 miles away, with heritage & cultural attractions, antiques and great restaurants (including the Delmonico Room, Bar Louis & the Patisserie Fauchere at The Hotel Fauchere, co-owned by the owner of this cottage).
70,000 acre Delaware Water Gap National Recreation Area.
