We had a wonderful stay! The place was clean, spacious, peaceful, and private. We loved sipping coffee on the porch in the mornings while enjoying the beautiful views. The location was perfect for exploring Acadia National Park and Bar Harbor. We hope to return again!

Greg is an exceptional host with an amazing property. Close enough to Bar Harbor and the park to enjoy all they have to offer but far enough away to make it feel private and remote. Greg was very accommodating, even providing us with some fire starters and an axe to help us have a beautiful fire in the backyard while we stargazed. Would 100% stay here again the next time we’re in the area. The property itself is very clean, well decorated, and had everything we needed.

Tall Pines was a great place to stay while exploring Acadia! It was very. clean with good amenities and lovely artwork! It is located in a tranquil setting with awesome views, including a pair of hawks and a family of turtles sunbathing on a log in the water! Highly recommend!!

The view from every window was calming and spectacular. It is conveniently located to Acadia Park and Bar Harbor, but away from the crowds so that you can enjoy the nature of the area. The layout is open but offers separate living spaces as well. It's a great combination of beauty and convenience. We visited most of the places on the island, but we felt like this one was the best!

It just doesn't get any better than this place. A perfect location on the island away from the tourists but just a few minutes to the Park. We lit a fire in the evenings in the fire pit and reminisced about the day's adventures with a full moon overhead. Deer, a resident fox, kingfishers, wood ducks and herons all came for regular visits. The stars at night are a must see. Multiple excellent restaurants only 10-15 minutes away. Greg is the perfect host with the perfect place. We will most certainly be coming back here.

Tall Pines Retreat is the reason to stay on the “quiet side” of Mount Desert Island. Truly, this is one of the best VRBO’s I’ve ever rented! The home is quite comfortable, with more than enough room to relax. We enjoyed breakfast each morning looking out from the table to a beautiful sunrise! The home is located on a private road, and guests occupy the lower level with a private entrance and a private deck and patio. With all this privacy you might think the location is too remote, but it’s just off the main road (about a mile from Somesville Bridge), and convenient to everything you want to do on Mount Desert Island. We spent one day exploring the scenic spots on the quiet side, one day exploring the Schoodic Peninsula (just shy of an hour away), one day at Bar Harbor (about 20 minutes away) and one day checking out all the sites on the Park Loop Road including Cadillac Mountain (maybe 15 minutes to the Hull’s Cove Entrance). We did everything at a relaxed pace, but more active folks can easily fit several hikes into their itinerary. We enjoyed excellent food in Bar Harbor and Southwest Harbor (and especially enjoyed dinner at Red Sky in SW Harbor; make reservations!) Accessibility note: parking is immediately by your entrance, with just a short gravel path and a step or two to the deck. The bathroom has a very small shower, which could be an accessibility concern for some.

This was the perfect place for a Maine adventure, either as a couple or with kids. The bed and pillows were great, the view incomparable and overall a wonderful place to relax after hiking, biking and kayaking. Highly recommend, and we hope to return soon!

The Tall Pines Retreat was one of the best VRBO rentals we've ever stayed in. It was spotless, thoughtfully equipped, and had everything we could possibly need to feel right at home. The views from the private deck were absolutely breathtaking!We actually spent more time relaxing there than we normally would on a trip to Mt. Desert Island because we loved sitting on the deck, taking in the scenery, and cozying up by the firepit. It was the perfect place to unwind.Greg was a wonderful host. As others have mentioned, he was always available if we needed anything but also gave us complete privacy to enjoy the peaceful, tranquil setting of the Tall Pines Retreat.The location on the island was another big plus. It was just a short drive to the Southwest Harbor, several fantastic lobster pounds, Bar Harbor, and the Park Loop Road, making it easy to explore all the area has to offer while returning each evening to a quiet retreat.We can't recommend the Tall Pines Retreat highly enough and sincerely hope we'll have the opportunity to return one day!

We had a delightful stay Tall Pines. The apartment is lovely and exactly as shown in the photos. Additionally the fabulous art on the walls and decorative objects add to the experience. All of this is further enhanced by the lovely private outdoor setting. A truly wonderful place to stay!
