Ramp available not up to code-very steep and thresholds very difficult in wheelchair. Bathrooms completely inaccessible for wheelchair users. Shower floor very slippery when wet-need matt or non-slip strips to make safe. Also water pressure very poor in shower and water distasteful. Only one bedroom accessible for wheelchair, and the bed in this room was very high-probably close to 40” high. Very pleasant house but not for wheelchair users.

We are genuinely surprised by this review. Your stay began September 11, and these concerns were not raised with us during your stay whatsoever. We are now learning about them for the first time on October 2 through a two-star review. We personally reached out during your stay to ask how things were going and received no indication that there was a problem. If the ramp, thresholds, bathroom, shower, water pressure, or the height one of beds presented difficulties or discomfort to your standards, that was the opportunity to tell us. We cannot assist with a your issues that is never communicated to us. For future guests reading this review: the property has a wheelchair ramp through the garage/mudroom but we do not represent the entire home as meeting every individual accessibility requirement. It’s rare for a home to have a ramp in the first place. We have hosted wheelchair users previously without receiving these complaints and have gotten 5 stars We also disagree with the implication that there were known problems with the shower. The home has a water-softening system, nonslip-resistant bathroom mats are provided, and we have not previously received complaints regarding the shower pressure. What is particularly disappointing is assigning the entire property two stars weeks later after their stay is unfair and Kim, you could have just called during your stay instead of trying to make us look bad. And the beds are standard height.

I was impressed with the renovation inside and all the wonderful decoration. It was extremely clean and the location was perfect away from the hustle and bustle of downtown Charlevoix, but just close enough to walk to a beach. The attached garage was a nice compliment and the very large backyard was great perfect for my Golden to run around and it was nice to see the fire pit back there. Overall, this renovated space was just right for me and I could’ve been happier. Bravo to the property manager, who was so nice enough to call me at the moment of booking and give me recommendations around town and it was comforting to know if there’s a real person behind the host.
