Property Overview
Experience the absolute pinnacle of Victoria’s waterfront lifestyle from a truly one-of-a-kind residence. Situated at 456 Pandora Avenue (Business Registration Number: BCREG00036407) within the iconic Janion building, Lookout Point tells a captivating story of two eras: part of the structure is a stunning heritage landmark from 1891, while the front half features a sleek, modern expansion completed in 2016. With its signature curved architecture and spectacular, unobstructed views of the active waterway and the iconic Johnson Street Bridge from every single window, this executive property provides an immersive, high-end home base for seamless 90+ day extended stays.
The defining feature of Lookout Point is its incredible proximity to the water—you simply cannot get any closer. Positioned right next to the bridge walkway, the unit’s curved floor plan floods the interior with natural light and treats you to a front-row seat of harbor life, from passing kayakers to boats navigating the waterway. Step out onto your private sun-drenched balcony to take in the fresh ocean air, or relax in the open living room styled with a contemporary dark grey sofa, armchairs, a Smart TV, and a La-Z-Boy sofa sleeper with a memory foam mattress to comfortably accommodate extra guests.
The home offers two dual primary suites, each appointed with a Queen-size bed, luxury linens, and its own unique, panoramic view of the bridge and water. One bedroom includes a dedicated WFH desk positioned right at the window for an inspiring work setup. Preparing meals is a pleasure in the modern chef’s kitchen, complete with warm wood lower cabinets, glossy white upper cabinetry, sleek quartz countertops, integrated appliances (including a dishwasher, oven, cooktop, and microwave), and a dining table set right against the curved glass. The spa-like bathroom features crisp white subway tiling and a glass-enclosed walk-in shower. For total executive ease, the suite includes high-speed Wi-Fi, central heating, a stacked in-suite washer and dryer, and a travel crib for families traveling with little ones.
Beyond the walls of your private sanctuary, you will enjoy premier access to upscale building perks. Unwind on the expansive, shared rooftop BBQ patio featuring outdoor dining tables and sweeping panoramic views stretching from the Parliament buildings to the open ocean. Long-term residents also enjoy access to an indoor meeting/social room with a common kitchen, a fully equipped resident fitness center, secure elevator entry, and direct access to harbor paths right outside the gate. Situated at the intersection of historic Chinatown and Old Town, you are steps away from Victoria's best waterfront dining, specialty markets, and cultural attractions.

We were excited to visit Victoria. The location of the apartment was convenient. Finding a spot to get our luggage into the facility was difficult when we arrived. You cannot park outside to unload; you have to park at a lot across the street and carry your luggage to the building. Once inside there had been a flood and there were dryers all over the hallway. This was disappointing as it would have been nice if the host had let us know. The apartment was fine, a bit small but overall good. The beds were just ok, not that comfortable. Lots of windows to look at the harbour however, when the blinds were up, people walking by can see you very clearly.

Hi Ian, Thanks for all the notes which will help future guests wanting to book into this unit. It has a few quirks, but to actually have parking included with this gorgeous unit is a rarity as the entire building only has 10 parking spots within the building.
Sadly, there was a flood, but were happy this unit was not affected and only the common hallway had damage. Agreed, we should have mentioned it ):
This is a very urban unit as you can see from the photos, so yes, if you like to people watch its perfect, but if not then we would suggest another option.
Please let us know when you are planning to return and we can suggest a different unit.

Cyclists Beware: No safe bike storage!
The space is beautiful! For those that need all three beds, be aware that there are privacy blinds in both of the bedrooms, but not in the living room. So the third bed is very visible, and there are bright lights from the bridge shining in all night long.
The biggest challenge (for us) was the property manager.
- Be prepared for a massive amount of material to review, incl a 22-page prop details doc
- Hidden in the docs is a clause that was not in the VRBO details: "No bicycles are allowed inside the unit at anytime." This was a huge deal for us, as we were on a bike tour, and needed somewhere safe to store our bikes at night (since Victoria is notorious for bike theft).
- I brought up our predicament with the PM, and not only did they not assume any responsibility for the missing info, but their response was unprofessional and defensive, "...it’s standard practice in Victoria that bikes are not allowed in any unit. Not just ours. If you have done this before it’s likely it just didn’t get noticed." The implication is that they are not responsible for posting this since it's "standard practice" for the area, but how would a tourist know this? But also, this is simply not true. We stayed in 2 other places in Victoria in the last 6 months and they not only did they know about our bikes, but helped accommodate them.
- PM referred us to a third party bike storage, which was great, but left us down an additional $180 and we didn't have access to our bikes from 7pm-9am.

Thank you for all your notes here. It is always great to get reviews like this so that future travellers can know that if they plan to arrive with 5 bikes, this is absolutely something that needs to be disclosed when you make the reservation.
Bikes are not allowed in the hallways, elevators and inside the units. I would say that this is not only specific to Victoria, but all condos. This is a large part of why the permanent residents are not happy with short term guests as they feel that rules are not being followed and their investments are not being respected. We try our best to make sure all the rules are followed.
I wish this unit had a bike room for all of your bikes but it doesn't, so was happy to refer you to the bike storage company up the block.
We are sorry that you felt dismissed, but this unit does not have the capability to safely store bikes and there is nothing we could do about that situation.
We were happy to be able to make special arrangements and get your forgotten bike key to you and would help out in any other way we are able.
We have a lovely unit not far from this one that has a designated bike room, so please let us know next time you are in town and we can send you the details.
Hope to see you again.

Modern condo in a prime location
The Condo is good sized for family of four, very close to all the major downtown sites in Victoria, including shopping and restaurants. We enjoyed our stay here during the Christmas holidays.
The building is an old hotel Janion completely renovated with modern amenities. The rooms are very clean and neat. The kitchen is stocked well enough to with good quality kitchenware. We could prepare complete meals, plenty for a family of 4. They have some basic cooking ingredients like salt, sugar.
The washer dryer were also conveniently inside the apartment with sufficiently good detergent to clean our laundry.
The wifi worked well and reliably. They also provided login for wifi access in public places through their internet provider which was a bonus as our phones did not have a Canadian data plan.
There are many restaurants within walking distance and the living room has a folder with all the information you would need about local contact, taxi service. BEing walking distance from many of the downtown sites and next to Chinatown, we found plenty to do without having to rent a car.
The common patio area on the top floor is a nice place for a lunch or coffee with a wonderful view of downtown Victoria.
There is no microwave inside the room but you can use the one in the public. The shared fitness room is lightly equipped. Remember to take a towel and your own drink.
Deidre was very helpful with all the tips and responsive to our questions. The condo is maintained well to make the stay comfortable.
Two things travelers should be aware of
- The apartment is below street level and right next to Johnson St bridge. The glass windows are sound proof (even with the road construction crew it was not very loud) but there are limitations on privacy.
- The requirements are for the travelers to pick up keys from another office several blocks away, which is not exactly convenient when you have arrive with luggage. WE had taken the Victoria Clipper and selected the condo since it was relatively close to the terminal. We requested Diedre and she accommodated to hand us the keys near the apartment.

Lalitha, You will be happy to hear the new bridge work is completed! We also now offer a Meet & Greet so if you prefer this option please let us know for next time. Deidre
The perfection location to explore, bike and paddle around Victoria. This European style condo is very comfortable and efficient, but is a little noisy given the proximity to the new bridge. The nearby restaurant scene is amazing. We will be back again soon and definitely stay here if it is available.
All was well. Heather was very helpful.
Wondering why the wall bed was not supposed to be stowed. We did not need that room for a bed but needed it to store luggage.
We came with daughter and her family .. and found the accommodation just awesome in terms of cleanliness, location and view!! It was outfitted nicely with basic daily needs in kitchen and laundry! We were within walking distance to major attractions and enjoyed the lovely daily view of the sunny skies, blue sparkling water and the variety of water vessels going by continually. Although right near a walkway the blinds worked adequately for privacy and sleep.
We couldn’t have wished for a more perfect accommodation!
Convenient location. Loud if windows left open or no fan on. Otherwise I like the building rooftop patio for great bbq and views!!

Great location! Need better parking.
The location was fabulous and the unit was great. Very clean and well organized. It was glorious to sip coffee in the morning and watch the water. We even got to see the drawbridge go up! The fact that the keys are located blocks away is very inconvenient. The biggest drawback is the parking. It is way too far away from the unit. Getting the luggage to and from the unit was an onerous process. This is NOT explained in the listing. The distant parking and even more distant key lockbox made the checkout process a nightmare. Fortunately, the location was so great we didn’t need to access our vehicle during our stay and could walk everywhere.
Place was as described. The check in process was excellent and Heather was very helpful. The place had all the amenities and a great location. Even had a microwave in the kitchen so no need to go to the common space to use it. Only thing to consider is it is extremely bright during the day in the living room. The bedrooms have blackout curtains, but the living room only has shades the sun shines through pretty brightly. Other than that, place wass great.

Perfect location in such a beautiful city! It was wonderful!
The check in process was so simple, and we appreciated the parking lot right next to the building. We had absolutely everything we needed within walking distance and visited several beautiful beaches and forests that were close by. We LOVED coming home to this modern, clean and beautiful home each evening. We loved cooking dinner in the rooftop kitchen one night, too. Would highly recommend this property, or any of the other properties with this company. We hope to come back soon!

Building location is great, but condo location is not the best.
My husband and I stayed here 3 nights.
Positives:
Property is located downtown and is in walking distance to Chinatown, Victoria Harbor and many restaurants and bars.
Heather with property management is helpful and accommodating.
Comfortable bed and bedding.
Kitchen was well stocked with pans and dishes.
Washer and dryer.
Netflix was a major bonus.
Condo is clean, modern and new.
Located by a busy drawbridge and pedestrian walkway- never a dull moment.
Negatives:
Located by a busy bridge. It will get old fast. Noise, people looking in, etc...
No AC- that means when it’s hot you will need to open your windows. Teenagers smoking pot and partying on the weekend right below your open window sucks.
You will have to pay to park offsite even though there’s a parking garage in the building.
Second bedroom is too small for 2 adults with suitcases.
Glass doors to the bathroom do not block out the light from the bedroom at night- very annoying.
This was a great place for a couple of nights, but by night 3 I was ready to go to a hotel. We would not stay here again because the condo is by a bridge.

Disappointing
Building location good, but not location of unit; very noisy because it is level with the bridge. More importantly, the internet connection is not good. 2nd bedroom not good; hardly any space between the bed and wall. I scraped my leg many times and, therefore, moved to a hotel which meant spending much more money than intended on this trip. The good features were good washer and dryer, as well as a clean and well stocked kitchen.

Pleasant place to stay
It was a very comfortable and new apartment, extremely well situated to walk everywhere and take a water taxi. We also had a good view of everybody crossing the bridge, which was funny at times. We choose a very good location.
However there were also some other things going on under the bridge, some youth smoking and accompanied by rap music, which isn't our kind of music, so we had to close the window on a very nice balmy evening, unfortunately. We also noticed somebody selling pills on the esplanade and again they always have some rap music with them. That was the minor side of the stay.

Wonderful accomodations
We were very happy with the information provided to stay in this unit. Very professionally completed information to explain how to obtain keys, where to park and the use of appliances in the unit. The view was lovely, even watching a family of 5 otters resting under the bridge, the water taxis and kayakers as well as the raising of the bridge to allow for barges and boats to travel. Very exciting and busy waterfront and foot traffic on the bridge which was great for people watching. The unit was very modern and gorgeous and the kitchen was very well equipped even though we did not have time to cook. The unit was perfect for our family and I recommend it for anyone seeking a newer, clean, safe and centrally located unit, within walking distance to many restaurants and the wharf and Iconic buildings.
