The property was as beautiful as the photos showed, & the view was even better! It was great to have that view without a scary gravel road requiring 4WD! You couldn’t beat the sunrises & sunsets! The kitchen was nice but not as well stocked as most VRBOs I’ve stayed it, but with this one being new that makes sense! The hike to the river & back is a little tougher than I expected due to the altitude, but doable & so serene! We’d absolutely stay here again!

DO NOT STAY AT THIS CABIN! Location directly on NC HWY 226 at extremely dangerous curve. No restful sleep here with truck/vehicle traffic all day & nite. Kitchen was sparsely equipped. The floors & windows were filthy. Wife spent 45 min swiffering & vacuuming. Garbage disposal & dishwasher stopped working day 2. Day 3 water delivery system malfunctioned requiring host to manually fill water tank-HUH? Day 4-Sunday had to evacuate cabin due to no water and check in to hotel. All this with Grandmother, Daughter & 2 toddler grandaughters! Host issued insufficient refund for checking out 1 day early, inconvenience and displacement! Host bypassed vrbo agreement by accepting/extorting Zelle payment from me for trip extension. I tried to have cell conversation with host to agree on refund but he only texted me saying: Have a nice day! Worst experience ever!

Talk about lies and fabrications! This traveler originally booked a 2 night stay for him and wife. Everything was fine during those 2 days...in fact, on the morning they were to check out they asked to extend their stay through the following Monday, taking it from a 2 night to a 5 night stay. You'd think if things were as bad as he claims, they would have left after their original 2 night stay. Once their daughter and 2 toddler grandchildren arrived, they started doing laundry and drained our 300 gallon water storage tank in the process. He wasn't intelligent enough to figure out how to reset the GFCI outlet that state code dictates all kitchen appliances use these outlets for protection...thus the dishwasher and disposal wouldn't work. We sent our electrician out there to reset the button...took all of 30 seconds and they fired right up. Apparently our electrician tracked in some dirt on the floor and they complained afterward about it. They then requested we install a new air filter for the air conditioner...which we did. The next day on Saturday the water tank was running low so we trucked in additional water to keep everything in working order. Same thing on Sunday, so we delivered more water...but this time the pump malfunctioned and we were unable to get the water into the pipes. Being a Sunday we couldn't get a plumber over to fix it, so we offered to refund the last night of their stay which his wife agreed to. Later that night he called demanding more of a refund. After sleeping on it, we decided to refund 50% of their extended 3 day stay to make up for the inconvenience of no water on the last day. He said the wasn't good enough and demanded a 100% refund, a blatant extortion attempt in order to avoid a negative review. As they left they placed a soiled diaper on our coffee table as a parting gift and trashed the cabin. Beware if you rent to these people of what they are capable of. We've had nothing but 5 star reviews so far but these people were just looking for ways to ruin our great reputation in order to get a free stay. Feel free to check out our amazing reviews on the other main booking site. Don't let these people fool you...stay with us and enjoy our million dollar views, riverside deck that overlooks the beautiful North Toe River and access trail that sways through 6 acres of beautiful western NC wilderness.
