Lisa and I had a lovely stay at the Salamander house in Floyd, it's well-appointed and has a magical view from the front porch; very convenient to nice restaurants and area attractions; Pat Vaughn is a very attentive host. Highly recommend.

Stop your search right now and confirm your stay at Salamander Hill! Of all the places I've stayed throughout this country and abroad, I have not found a place as quaint, clean, meticulously kept and decorated than Salamander Hill. Nestled in a very nice town this cottage is the perfect place to stay - you will not be disappointed! My wife and I can't wait to stay again and this time we won't make the mistake of confirming for only a few days.

The location to Floyd (which is why we booked) as well as Wineries, was great. Beautiful home, decorated nicely for our high-end taste. Anything you can think of you may need is furnished. We travel a fair amount and this VRBO itself was a 10 out of 10. Start to finish.

The house is gorgeous and you can tell the owners made sure to accommodate for as much as possible. Great views and atmosphere. The dirt road getting there was rough but smooths back out to paved. Our only issue was the beds were hard and our backs were sore when we woke up. We had to leave early to head home and get some sleep.

The property itself was exceptionally nice. It was new (looking at least), well appointed and conveniently located. The coffee and milk in the fridge were very nice touches. The front porch is the best feature, nice view, very relaxing and a nice place to relax after the day.I felt the photos oversold the privacy aspects a bit. The back deck is in a direct line of view to the adjacent home. The front porch is sheltered from that and even though the view is across the street, a nice view clearing through the trees makes it feel not only private but very serene. The only other comment is that Google sends you down the unpaved portion of the road leading to the property. The dirt and gravel has created a washboard that will threaten to rattle a tooth out. There is a little longer, but much easier on the shocks and teeth, approach to the property.I would feel very comfortable in recommending this property.

Thank you Ginger! We were so happy you stayed with us. We agree 100% about the roads. Not sure where Google GPS sent you, but glad you made it! Safe travels and be sure to come back again and enjoy our porch.
