We will start the description, by stepping up to the main floor of the cottage. Muir`s Cove Cottage is nicely decorated with recent furniture updates and many accents that make the room feel comfortable and casual. Muir’s Cove Cottage enjoys a fireplace which is available for guests to use and lovely views of the cove from a wall of windows on the opposing wall. The entry level at Muir’s Cove Cottage holds the door to the full bathroom that has a shower / tub combo, a vanity and linen storage. There is also a coat closet for easy storage of rain and swim gear in the entry hall. The ground floor of Muir’s Cove Cottage has two additional bedrooms. The first bedroom has two twin beds, a television with streaming capabilities and a nice closet. The second bedroom has a queen bed, a closet and a couch for easy lounging with a book. We loved Muir's Cove Cottage.

Perched in the woods above Crockett's Cove, with fine views across the water, Muir's Cove Cottage is well-designed and well-equipped. We felt right at home from the moment of arrival. The bedrooms are tidy, with good linens; the kitchen, though of a size to avoid the problem of "too many cooks" is well-equipped, enabling us to cook anything we wished (baked a birthday cake!) Living room was very comfortable, the perfect place for curling up with a book, and the adjacent dining area accommodated a dinner party for 7, and did double duty as a place to finish a 1000-piece jigsaw puzzle. Porch overlooking the water was a great place for a morning coffee, a bite of lunch, or an afternoon reading session on one of the chaises longues. There was really nothing that we lacked while we were there. Marvelous library of books in multiple languages attest to the intelligence and taste of the owners, which imbues the property (among the surrounding trees, a well-placed hammock as well as an Adirondack chair turned in the direction of the sunset....) It's helpful that there's a dishwasher to keep things tidy. That there is no washer/dryer is understandable, so we planned and packed accordingly. The cottage's location makes it easy to reach all that the area has to offer. An informative notebook in the cottage explained proper procedures for the property (e.g. accessing very reliable hi-speed internet, which allowed those with occasional work obligations to keep up with them) and offered guidance to local attractions, restaurants and events. We kayaked, we hiked, we glimpsed a bald-eagle, and dolphins. We 'chilled' and achieved 'full vacation'. Proof of the success of this visit came, a few days after we settled in, when one of my sons asked whether there was a chance we could rent the cottage again next year. Further proof: when one of our visitors had to leave, she called it "a magical place." It is a spot that one doesn't want to leave, and in lieu of that, a place one hopes to revisit. Yes, it's a cliché, but—this is truly a cozy cottage.
