About this property
1 Bed, idyllic, stadiums, free parking, & Pets OK
Here's a quiet hideaway. Book the apartment, and reserve a fine meal at a nearby restaurant, and walk to the nearby park. For the price of a hotel room, you get living and sunrooms, a complete kitchen with parking, washing, ironing, and excellent internet access. You are close to concerts, parks, museums, stadiums, AGH, and fine restaurants. This apartment is a great center to explore downtown and the Northside of Pittsburgh. You and your pet will like the large park, only a 1/2 block away. The house was built in 1900 and underwent a significant overhaul in the mid-1990s, followed by another recent update. All appliances are new. The floor is a pet-safe laminate. We offer a space with ample room to move around and remain comfortable. Our guests' reviews reflect how content our guests have been. We offer a full kitchen, a modern bathroom, and complimentary laundry facilities. The laundry is in the basement and shared with upstairs guests. Our co-hosts are close—one lives in his apartment on site, and the second lives across the street. We can provide a parking pass for on-street parking. The entry door has a combo lock. The apartment door is set to the last four of your phone. The laundry room also has a combo lock 4231. Access to the apartment only requires five entry steps to climb. The laundry room is in the basement, two fights down. We have two co-hosts and one host, me. One of the co-hosts lives on-site in his apartment. The second co-host lives across the street. You will be greeted and then left alone. Both are available for problems and questions. Yins House A bit of her history, and let me begin with her name. Yin House is the mirror reflection of her neighbor 421. Whoever built the two houses used one blueprint. They built one, flipped the blueprint, and built the second. Across the street is the former James Street Tavern, which has been everything to GAR (Grand Army of the Republic), a civil war veterans’ association, the center of labor groups, a speakeasy, and a Jazz Club. The tavern was built in 1890. I like to think they were owned by two Civil War veterans, brothers, who wanted to be next to each other and across the street from a friendly bar. I purchased the property in 1996 after it had just been upgraded with all new wiring, plumbing, windows, and walls. She was converted from a single-family home to a two-family home. Traces of her origin still remain; for example, you can see the drain on the porch, which is now the sunroom. I think the built-in cabinets in the bedroom are another example. Yin House got another major upgrade over the last two years. New kitchen, bathroom, and floors. Downstairs, both the washer and dryer are new. For medical emergencies, Allegheny General Hospital is four blocks. Allegheny Commons Park is only 200 steps away, a great place to be with or without a pet. Walk to Lake Elizabeth for a special treat Museums Andy Warhol Mattress Factory Children's Museum National Aviary Everything above is a comfortable walk. Just a little longer walk PNC Stadium Heinz Field Down Town I hope this suggests some places you'd like to visit. don don No car, no problem. We have Uber, Lyft, and a great bus service. But you can do just fine walking. If you're driving, you're no more than a twenty-minute ride to anywhere in the Pittsburgh limits. If you're driving, we can get you a free parking pass to park near the apartment. Deutschtown has the energy of several people coming together. You will see tats, hair in many hues, heavy influence of Black culture, and business people in suits. You can enjoy this gift or just shut the door and enjoy the quiet of your apartment. If you are uncomfortable with an urban neighborhood, this is not the place for you.
