About this property
Three Bears Cabin: Dog Friendly-Hot Tub-2.5Bed/1BA
Our cabin is available for both short and long term rentals. It is professionally cleaned and disinfected in accordance with anti-viral sanitation standards between each guest visits..
Three Bears Cabin is a quintessential storybook Tahoe cabin designed and built by famed Tahoe architect Burt Anderson (it is rumored that he even lived in this house at one point).
This cozy cabin is perfect for 1 or 2 couples (4 adult maximum) or a family of up to 5 for your summer or winter vacation on the West Shore of Lake Tahoe. It is located 3 miles south of Tahoe City in the quiet neighborhood of Pineland, on a well-maintained road that is mostly traveled by local residents (no through traffic). You'll feel comfortable having the kids and dog playing in the yard around the house, knowing the car traffic is at a minimum here.
You'll enjoy a fully-equipped cabin with plenty of off- street parking, a large southeast facing wrap-around deck with outdoor dining and BBQ areas and a 6 person hot tub. Inside you'll find a mud room with ski racks and boot & glove dryers, full size washer and dryer, mountain decor and architecture, 39' flat screen TV with High-Def cable, TiVo DVR, Blueray DVD player are all available to make your stay feel like home. There is a second TV+DVD player in the loft, making it the perfect spot for the kids to settle in and watch a movie before bed. Secure 50MB wireless internet access is available for all your electronic devices. Central heating will keep you warm and cozy, and a freestanding gas stove in the living room adds extra warmth and ambiance. A recliner sofa in living room is ideal for settling in to watch the game or a movie. A fully-equipped kitchen, bathroom, and all bedding is provided to make your stay simple and relaxing.
The house is located directly across the street from Ward Creek, and the lake itself is located less than 1 mile away. Popular summer activities include fishing, boating, swimming, paddle boarding, kite boarding, kayaking, canoeing, sun bathing on the beach, jet skiing, etc.
Take a leisurely stroll to four great restaurants: Sunnyside Resort, Firesign, Shadyside, and Spoon. A ski/snowboard rental shop (West Shore Sports), and a mini-mart/deli/liquor store (West Shore Market) are all less than 1 mile away from the cabin.
A half-mile walk will take you to Kilner Park, where you can find beach volleyball, lighted tennis courts, swings, sandbox, jungle gym, and the biggest spiral slide in Tahoe! And just across Highway 89, you'll find the beach!
In winter, a shuttle bus conveniently departs from Sunnyside Resort every 30 minutes for pick-up and drop-off at Alpine Meadows' Sherwood lift, which is only 2 miles/5 minute drive up the road. Imagine the convenience of not having to get in the car to get to your ski lift! Alternatively, family-friendly Homewood Ski Resort is only 3.5 miles away and world renowned Squaw Valley is just 20 minutes away. Cross country skiing, backcountry skiing, and snowmobiling is accessible right out of the back door.
In summer, the Tahoe Rim Trail trailhead is conveniently located 1/2 mile away for mountain biking and hiking enthusiasts. Less than 1 mile away, 15 miles of paved bike path makes for great family fun with commanding lake views. The bike path is also used for roller-blades, jogging, walking or access to the Truckee river bike path for fishing and rafting. For those looking for more of a challenge, try biking up to either Alpine Meadows or Squaw Valley ski resorts from the bike path along Hwy 89.
Tahoe City is a short 3 miles drive where you will find all the amenities expected in a small mountain town: lake-side fine dining, shopping, coffee shops, bars, grocery & drug stores, ethnic food restaurants, movie theater, yoga studios & day spas, fitness clubs, banks, golf courses, bike/ski/snowboard rentals, river rafting, fly fishing, boat rentals, etc.
For additional nightlife options, gambling casinos and live concerts can be found in Crystal Bay, located at the California-Nevada boarder, 10 miles (20 minutes drive) north of Tahoe City.

-We are happy to host ADA-compliant service animals and take service animal fraud seriously, as it is a crime. While disclosure of the presence of a service animal isn't necessary before booking an VRBO, for medical and safety reasons, we kindly request that guests who bring a service animal communicate their animal's presence during the booking process to foster an environment of transparency. Upon your booking and per ADA Federal Laws, California State Laws, and VRBO policy, guests shall answer the two questions permitted by ADA for each Service Animal: 1. Is the Service Animal needed for a disability of one of your registered guests in the traveling party? 2. What work or task(s) is the Service Animal trained to perform? Please note that per ADA and VRBO policies, no service animal shall be left on our property without its handler at any time without prior approval or consent. Doing so will result in the immediate termination of the guest's booking with no refund and immediate eviction from the property. A guest's service animal shall be controllable by its handler, housebroken, and allowed only in the authorized common space areas and the guest's room(s). The service animal shall be harnessed, leashed, or tethered and under the guest's control at all times unless the guest's disability prevents using these devices or these devices interfere with the service animal's safe, effective performance of tasks. In that case, the guest must maintain control of the animal through voice, signal, or other effective controls. Service animals are not allowed on any furniture or beds at any time. We retain the right to seek recovery for any damages incurred during a guest's booked stay. Upon checkout, if it is found that extensive cleaning is required that exceeds our standard fees, the guest shall be notified in writing through host and VRBO. Guests agree to be responsible and pay for all additional costs incurred to adhere to and maintain VRBO standards. Additionally, any damages found that exceed normal wear and tear are the guest's responsibility. The guest agrees to be responsible and pay for all additional fees incurred to clean or repair the home to the same condition it was before the stay. Guests agree to pre-approve VRBO billing the on-file credit card for any documented damage or extensive cleaning and agree not to challenge the charge on the card on file.

What makes this property unique
There are three excellent dining choices about a mile of the house, all highly visible on Hwy 89, that are all right across the street from each other.
Sunnyside Resort offer high-end lakeside dining, Spoon offers family style dining, Firesign Cafe is a great breakfast and lunch spot, and Sunnyside Market and Deli where you can pick up deli-style sandwiches and basics (i.e. milk, eggs, bread, beer, soda, ice cream, etc.).
There are other options about 3 miles to the south on Hwy 89 around Homewood many, many more about 3 miles to the north in and around Tahoe City.
