About the host
Hosted by Nik Carlson
Hi, I’m a hands-on owner who takes pride in keeping a clean, comfortable place for people to stay. I’ve been traveling for work since 2017, so I know what it’s like to need a solid, safe home base after a long day.
Because of that, I focus on the basics that really matter—cleanliness, comfort, and a space that just works. Whether you’re here to relax, visit the area, or working nearby, I want you to have a place where you can settle in and feel at ease.
I stay on top of maintenance and am always making small improvements to keep things in good shape. I respect your privacy, but I’m easy to reach if you need anything during your stay.
I enjoy hosting because I know how much a good place can make a trip better. My goal is simple: offer a clean, safe, and reliable spot I’d be happy to stay in myself.

Why they chose this property
This area is a great example of classic southern Maine coastal living. It’s quiet, safe, and relaxed, but still has a strong sense of community and plenty to enjoy nearby.
One of my favorite parts is Kennebunk’s Main Street, with its small-town charm, local shops, cafes, and everyday conveniences without the crowds of larger coastal towns. Just a short drive away is Kennebunkport, especially Dock Square, which offers great restaurants, boutiques, and a classic coastal New England feel.
The beaches are a big highlight too, including Gooch’s Beach, Mother’s Beach, and Parsons Beach. Each has its own feel, from family-friendly areas to quieter spots perfect for walking, relaxing, or watching the tides.
I also really enjoy the access to nature, including nearby trails and salt marshes, like the Rachel Carson National Wildlife Refuge. It’s an easy way to experience the more natural, peaceful side of the coast.
What I appreciate most is the balance of peaceful neighborhoods, friendly community, and easy access to beaches, shops, and outdoor activities. It’s an easy place to slow down and enjoy true Maine coastal living.

What makes this property unique
What makes this property unique is the setting. It's private, peaceful, and tucked into the trees on a half-acre lot at the edge of town. It’s set back from the road and surrounded by woods, giving it a true country feel while still being just minutes from everything.
You get the best of both worlds: quiet, natural surroundings where you can really unwind, plus quick access to the coast, beaches, and all that Kennebunk has to offer. Even better, you’re only about 30 minutes from both Portland and Portsmouth, making day trips easy.
The property also offers plenty of parking and space to come and go comfortably.
On clear nights, the stars are incredible thanks to the quiet setting and minimal light pollution, another simple but memorable part of staying here.
It’s a private retreat that feels removed from it all, but still keeps you close to the coast, town, and everything in between.
