We've been staying here 10 years for a reason. Perfect cabin with fishing, swimming, kayaking, and proximity to great hiking and cultural things in Bennington. Look forward to it every year
My family had another wonderful stay at Ruth's cottage. Between the deck, the enclosed porch, the yard, and the dock, it is easy to spend hours each day enjoying the lake and the beautiful scenery. Rose is a great communicator and we love her cottage.

Thank you, Jennifer. It's always wonderful to hear other families enjoying our magical place.
We enjoyed another stay at Rose’s cottage. Morning sunrises and afternoon sunsets, bird song, and clean lake water provided hours of relaxation. The spot is great for accessing hiking trails, restaurants in Bennington, candlestick bowling in Willmington, and the Williamstown Theater Festival just over the border in MA.
We really enjoyed our stay at Rose’s cottage. It had everything we needed for a relaxing and fun family vacation. Our 4 year old loved fishing from the dock and found it to be surprisingly baby friendly for our 9 month old who is determined to get into everything. Thank you!
Our family of 5 enjoyed our week long stay at the lake. The kayaks and row boat were a big hit. The kids enjoyed swimming right off the dock. Plenty of board games. Took many walks around the lake.

The cottage we stayed at was absolutely lovely. It was so peaceful sitting on the porch each morning. The lake was great for fishing. Rose was very communicative. Upon our return my husband thanked me for finding a dream come true vacation.

Peaceful week in Vermont
This cottage had everything we needed for a peaceful week in Vermont. It was clean and comfortable, with a great view of the lake. Unfortunately we had quite a bit of rain, but there were so many games on the shelf no one got bored. When the sun came out we enjoyed swimming off the dock and taking the kayak out.

Dear New Jersey,
Thank you for the review. I'm pleased to hear you still had fun even with bad weather. Please do come back and visit us.
With kind regards,

We really enjoyed our week stay in Woodford. Rose was easy to reach when we needed her, the property was campy (in a good way) but clean and well-appointed, was everything we needed to relax. My only "issue" (if you could even call it that) is the property is fairly close to RT9, although set back, so we didn't feel super comfortable allowing our dogs off leash. That being said the proximity to Rt 9 is also nice, sitting right between cute, quaint Wilmington and well-appointed Bennington. Very close to Woodford state park with easy hiking. Would very much recommend Rose's place for a family getaway.

Kristy,
I’m happy you and your family enjoyed your stay. Yes, we’re not totally in the woods but certainly have that feel. There’s hiking trails right from the cottage that’ll get you into the deep woods if there’s a need for total serenity. Thank you for visiting!
Best regards
Rose
This is the perfect spot for a getaway. The cabin was spotless, and everything was there that we needed to enjoy the week. The weather was interesting, but we had plenty of sunny hours. Rose was always available and kept us up on the road conditions. A couple trips to town and seeing some of the history there. Norman Rockwell fans here. The Sugar Shack in Arlington was a delight for us.

Defintely coming back!!
Everything you would need for a great lakeside vacation is here! My husband, myself and our two children (ages 7 & 4) had a great time. We enjoyed swimming, fishing, using the kayaks and row boat, grilling and making a campfire every night. This lake is quiet, clean and serene with family friendly neighbors. If you do need to travel for groceries, Woodford is centrally located so no need to travel too far. Rose is a wonderful hostess who can answer all your questions. One of our best Homeaway experiences to date.

Dear Rebekah,

We enjoyed our week. The cottage worked out great - it is quaint and “old timey” - kept clean and well appointed.
We spent a lot of time in and around the water - which is so nice and not full of weeds. We also especially enjoyed the back porch room and the deck.
The sound of the road - 18 wheelers especially - is present, but it is what it is and certainly not in the control of the owner.
Speaking of the owner, Rose is great at communicating and made sure our stay was comfortable.
We had a great week!

Thank you Aimee, it’s always nice to hear families enjoying the cottage as we did for years. Unfortunately theres no alternate route for the truckers. Have a wonderful summer! Cheers
This is exactly what my husband and I were hoping for. A peaceful getaway on a lake. We had a wonderful time. I can’t say enough about Rose. Every time I reached out to her from the start of booking till our last day, she responded in a timely, helpful manner. We ran into one minor problem, which she addressed immediately. Thank you for sharing this little piece of heaven with us.

Kathy,
Thank you for your feedback. I’ve own this little slice of heaven for sometime now, it’s brought many family memories experiencing the great outdoors of VT. I’m so pleased you and your husband enjoyed it - Rose
My family loved our time at Rose's place! It is well-stocked with fans, life jackets, water floats, etc., and the view from the porch and the yard is incredible. My family spent a lot of time on, or in, the water, which is very swimmable around the dock. An umbrella and lots of games and DVD's are also provided, so we even enjoyed a rainy day at the lake. We recommend both Ramunto's Pizza and The Avocado Pit in Bennington for take-out.
Rose was great at communicating, both before and during our stay. My family enjoys discovering new places, so it is rare that we return to a place we have rented. However, both my husband and my daughter have asked me to rent this place again at some point in the future. We had a great stay!

Great relaxing mini- vacation
Rose is the wonderful host and her cottage is equipped with everything you would need for a great lakefront stay. Raw boat, fishing boat, 2 canoe are provided and included in your stay price. Tons of entertainments for rainy days- books, tv,karaoke, you name it....fully equipped kitchen to cook from scratch .
We had an awesome time in Rose house, my favorite room was the lakefront screened terrace with Windows and the porch overlooking the lake. The only thing I was not comfortable with - too soft mattress in the main bedroom. Next time I will bring my own hard mattress top,as I have low back concerns....overall we had absolutely charming mini- vacation and we definitely plan to come back next summer

Dear Lena,
Thank you for your review. I appreciate your feedback, I'm always delighted to hear families enjoying our cottage and added pointers to make it a more comfortable stay for all. Therapeutic toppers are used on both queen beds to provide added comfort and can be removed for stiffer results. However I'll verify what other topper's are in the market place for stiffer results and add as a backup. Please do come back again.
With kind regards,
Rose
We enjoyed our five days at this clean and comfortable lake house a lot, especially the view of the lake from the dining room table each morning and throughout the day when we weren't out and about taking in many things in the Bennington area. We were there the last part of September, and although it was on the cool side, the house was always warm -- great furnace! The kitchen was well-equipped and had everything we needed when we were eating in. We blew a fuse once and had an issue with the TV, but both situations were resolved quickly. Furnishishings are simple but adequate. We would stay here again; it is a relaxing place to be. Thank you, Rose!
The cabin is cute, cozy, has everything you need, and the lake is steps away. The fishing is fantastic (smallmouth, largemouth, giant pickerel) and the kids LOVED swimming and kayaking all day.
It's our second time staying here and there will likely be a third.
We enjoyed our stay in this comfortable house and appreciated the lovely quilts and paintings and other decorative objects throughout. Breakfast overlooking the lake, either on the outside porch or the enclosed porch, was a delight every day. We swam several times each day in the clear water of Big Pond, just steps from the house, and we noted that the lawn has both sun and shade all day long. There was a gorgeous sunset on our first night (but unfortunately cloudy evenings thereafter). Woodford is an easy drive to Bennington and Manchester, where it was fun to browse in the shops.
