Finally, we provide canvas grocery bags you can use in your trips to the local stores, farmer’s and fish markets.
The Neighborhood:
Only a block away from the boardwalk promenade, Casa del Desierto is in a quiet neighborhood with very little noise. Essentially, the promenade is your neighborhood.
On the promenade you can find a variety of restaurants and bars, as well as kayak and paddleboard rentals.
The restaurant Tailhunter, a very popular expat hangout, is located on the block across the street on the sidewalk facing the promenade. There is a tiny seafood stand on the right side of the same block (as you face the promenade), which has excellent ceviche, and makes for a very local food experience.
If you take a right onto the promenade you’ll head towards the main tourist area, which is about 5 blocks away (a 5-minute walk) and 2 blocks inland.
You’ll be able to find the local market, Aramburo, as well as all our favorite restaurnants, including Tres Virgenes, Prana, and Sorstis, as well the hip coffee shop Doce Cuarenta. Don’t forget to try the fantastic pork tamales from the vendor that sets up just outside Aramburo.
The farmer’s market sets up just outside Doce Cuarenta the mornings of every Tuesday and Saturday. There are some excellent meat and vegetable stands, as well as various shops selling all kinds of housewares and handmade items.

This was a wonderful place in a great location. Walking distance to many things. It was clean and well stocked. We would not hesitate to stay there again. Gracias
Lovely and spacious home in a great location adjacent to the Malecon! The house was better than the pictures. Well stocked, and quieter than being directly on the Malecon. Roof top patio area was a highlight!
Unfortunately we did not use the hot tub as we were too busy doing other things, but it appeared clean. A maintenance person came during our stay to perform maintenance. The view from the north and south sides of the balcony were wonderful. There is a building obstructing the view from the center, but it did not affect the beauty and serenity of the balcony.
Charming and comfortable this house felt like a home away from home. There was hotel style bedding, plenty of bathrooms, and nice amenities. I would definitely rent again.

Perfect location for me. As I fished every other day with Tailhunter. As their restaurant is in form of the house. Great location, lots of action on the Malecon-but still quiet to relax. Already booked it for next season!! Hot tub was a great relaxing pint in the morning and in the evening.

We enjoyed Casa del Desierto. Lots of space - a perfect set-up for 2 couples, or a family and a couple. Well appointed and charming home. Great communication from the host, easy-to-follow check-in, and good information in the house.

Very comfortable and as described
The house was very comfortable and exactly as seen in the photos - spacious rooms, a beautiful terrace, and very clean. Loved having 3 rooms en suite, as it afforded more privacy as well. Yolanda was very nice.
Great property and location. Host was amazing communicator. Very clean and exactly as advertised. Even came with extras like a welcome cake and some coffee. Only issue was the dogs next door barking a lot, but that's not the fault of the property. Would stay again.

Cada del Desierto is excellent due to its location and amenities. The property manager went well above to ensure we had and excellent stay.
I would not recommend it, however, for anyone with mobility issues since the condo is three stories with narrow stairs. Other than that it’s a wonderful place and we had a great stay.

Great house and location. Beautiful as the web pictures, except there is a condo between the house and the bay, partially blocking view. Probably would have given 5 stars if not for the 3 dogs next door that barked early each morning when they were let out.

Thank you, Joseph, for taking the time to review our property. It is truly helpful to know what you loved and what we can improve.
Sadly, barking dogs are not within our power to control. Our neighbors love their furry friends and enjoy the neighborhood as much as our guests, so we can only apologize for the inconvenience.
You’re absolutely right about the building in front of the house. It is a shame that such a beautiful view is partially obstructed however, you can still get a fascinating view of La Paz sunsets from the terrace.
My girlfriends and I come to La Paz once a year for anual Dr. Appointments and to shop. This house was perfect for us with total privacy bedrooms and on suites. We didn’t have much time to spend there as we did a lot of running around, but definitely reserve it next year if available. Property mgr. Monica was very responsive and an excellent host!!

Loved out stay!
We loved our stay at Casa Terrazas . There were 4 of us, 2 couples and the layout of the house worked fabulously. Bathroom on every level of the house. It's 1/2 block from the Malecon which made getting out and walking to restaurants, the grocery store, the water, etc. very easy. The sculptures on the Malecon are a very nice added feature to LaPaz. We spent many an hour on the roof top patio reading, talking, laughing. You can't go wrong renting Casa Terrazas.

Great place , nice location near the mellicon , good rooms for 2 , 3 rd bed is better for kids
Nice place, needs more tv’s in each bedroom and up on the sun deck ... internet was very poor so I would replace with faster speed and better connection. Should also replace the water heater as it went out twice during our stay . Pricing was ok , and location was good for views and walk to Mellicon
Thanks

Thank you for your comments, We are always working to improve our services.
This house was perfect for our vacation. Location was amazing! We walked to pretty much everything and VERY close to the Malecon. We used the rooftop every night. There is a building in front of the house but you still get beautiful views of the ocean and sunsets. The kitchen did not have many tools or spices but we ate out most of our stay anyway. Floors could use a good mop but didn't bother us. Great house with AC units in every room. Bathrooms in every room which is so convenient and great for privacy. If we return to La Paz we will definitely book again.

My name is Monica. I grew up in Ciudad Obregon, Sonora, and have lived La Paz in 2008.
Since then, I've grown roots into the community through educational programs and efforts to advance environmental conscience in the form of organic gardens, recycling, and sustainable water-management practices.
Why they chose this property
As the name suggests, Casa del Desierto is decorated with a desert theme, from an intricate mural in the entranceway to a variety of rustic imagery throughout the house.
The house is 3 floors, plus the rooftop terrace with ocean view. This spacious rooftop is a great place to hang out and spend the afternoon barbecuing with friends and family or soaking in the hot tub and enjoying the sunset.

The garage, which sports an electric gate operable by remote control, provides easy access to the large, first floor bedroom.
What makes this property unique

We take pride in using non-toxic cleaning supplies, providing a healthier and more natural alternative, while being just as effective to synthetic-based conventional cleaners.
As La Paz doesn’t have a city recycling program, we go the extra mile and arrange for recycling ourselves. We offer recycling bins for our guests, which we then transport to proper recycling facilities outside of town.We are making efforts towards water conservation in La Paz.
We are adopting water-efficient technologies, growing mostly native vegetation in our decorative gardens, promoting responsible water usage, and building urban rainwater capture basins.
Finally, we provide canvas grocery bags you can use in your trips to the local stores, farmer’s and fish markets.
The ground floor bedroom, with its own full bathroom and king-sized bed, is easily accessible from the garage without a need to climb stairs making it excellent for older family members. That said, the home’s vertical, 3-story layout will often require climbing stairs to access common areas. On the promenade you can find a variety of restaurants and bars, as well as kayak and paddleboard rentals.
