Recently during a trip to La Paz my family had the fortune to stay in two of Marlene's Puerta Cortes properties.  Both of the condos were amazing and exceeded our expectations.  We felt spoiled by the views and luxury of our accommodations. The Puerta Cortes area is very secure and filled with amenities so that no one in our group wanted to leave.  The pools, beach, and landscaping are all jaw dropping.  Marlene was so easy to work with and made sure that we thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Next time we are in La Paz we hope we are lucky enough to return to Marlene's condos.

Whether you are a sport fisher-person looking for the next big catch, a scuba diving enthusiast, a golfer or just looking for a relaxing vacation, Puerta Cortes Resort has something special to offer you and your family. My husband and I own 4 rental properties which are located at Puerta Cortes Resort (formerly CostaBaja Resort and Marina). Three of our units are located within the marina area (Pueblo Marinero) and the 4th unit is located in the hillside subdivision of (Las Colinas).

Pueblo Marinero #301 Condo is ideally located right in the heart of the marina village overlooking the the world-class 250-slip double basin marina and the turquoise sea beyond. The Gary Player Signature Golf Course views are breathtaking from this unit. The condo is a 2-bedroom that comfortably accommodates 4 guests. Highlights of the condo include king beds, 2 bathrooms, fully equipped kitchen with a living/dining area, stacked washer-dryer, large extended terrace, WiFi, air conditioning and a reserved parking space. The condo is located up one flight of stairs. There is-no elevator.

There are many wonderful amenities that will be at your disposal at the resort. As a guest of my condo you have access to the private Blue Cortes Beach Club
& Puerto Beach Clubs, both are located only a few feet away from the condo. While enjoying the Blue Cortes Beach Club there is a Minimum Consumption Fee of $800 MXN per adult person per day, during regular operating hours. At the Puerto Beach Club there is no Minimum Consumption Fee while enjoying the Club.

The Blue Cortes Beach Club has a beautiful infinity pool, Jacuzzi, selection of beach and pool-side seating, beach cafe/bar and a children's craft/play area.

The Puerto Beach Club features an amazing selection of food and beverage huts, an infinity pool, Jacuzzi, fire-pit, wonderful lounge beach and garden seating. Gym access is available through the hotel, and tennis court time can be scheduled at the Blue Cortes Beach Club. For those guests looking for a spa day, massages are offered at the beach huts and at the Espiritu Spa, located within the hotel. The spa also offers a full array of services.

In addition to the above amenities my guests can play golf at the private El Cortes Golf Club, a Gary Player Signature Course rated one of the ‘Top-Ten’ courses to play in Mexico. There is also a fun (Pitch & Putt) course to play. At the golf club enjoy dining at the Cardon Restaurant. Also take in the magnificent views of the Bay of La Paz as well as the city landscape in the distance. The views are absolutely breathtaking. Bring a camera – it’s the perfect photo opportunity.

Puerta Cortes Resort has two marinas, open-air restaurants, a mini-market, a medical clinic, 24-hour security, as well as numerous charter companies that provide adventure tours for diving, kayaking, swimming with the whale-sharks and snorkeling with the sea lions. Just north of the resort, lies Isla Espiritu Santo, where you'll discover one of the greatest marine reserves in the world.

The City of La Paz is a charming colonial city with approximately 250,000 people.  Enjoy strolling along the boardwalk “Malecon” located right along the waterfront, visit the local farmers market, galleries, cafes and the Cathedral. Or take a drive to Todos Santos, a picturesque artistic community that’s only 50 miles away. La Paz is a premier vacation destination with many options for you to choose from. Great location near La Paz

Fun condo in the marina with access to beautiful beach clubs. Easy drive to La Paz for access to more restaurants and tours. The host and the onsite staff are very responsive to issues as they come up.

Wonderful property

We love staying at this resort and this condo is right in the middle of it. This condo has memberships in the beach club and golf club. Our only disappointment was that the old beach club was under construction and closed. We were able to use the new beach club as well as the hotel facilities. Marlene is a great host and responsive to any request.

Spacious condo in great location.

Everything was wonderful, except when the water ran out twice..... Super spacious condo with awesome deck right on the marina. Restaurants and the beach club right there. Absolutely beautiful sunsets. No fault of the owners, who are very responsive and helpful, but the condo ran out of water on two separate occasions. It's a desert after all, but inconvenient. Overall wonderful stay!

Wonderful Stay in La Paz

I rented the one bedroom unit 301 and two bedroom 303 from Marlene at Marina Costa Baja condos during the month of May. Our accomodations were great and the property manager helped us out many times. She provided us with contacts for transportation to and from the airport, a day trip to Todos Santos and housekeeping when we requested it. The restaurants and the Beach Club are fabulous. This is not our first time to this Marina but it was one of our best! The owner Marlene even referred me to a local dentist when I had a dental problem.

We will definitely be back!

Everything about our stay was perfect! The location of the condo was close to everything we wanted to do as far as the pool, boat excursion and restaurants. Getting a cab to take us in and out of town was also extremely easy with the help hotel concierge. The beach club was perfect. The pool was warm, huge and kid friendly. The staff and food was excellent. Marlene answered all of my 2000000000 questions with no problems at all which I greatly appreciated as well. The condo was clean and comfortable. The beds and sheets were soft, which is rarely the case with rentals. We will definitely be returning to La Paz and would love to rent from Marlene again in the future!

If you like to be woken up early

pros - in marina, near destination beaches, great cafe below Cons - No hot water first night or lock on back door. Room with thin windows located directly above public restrooms, local guide co and storage for trash bins. Woken up daily by 6am... some days earlier. Left early emailed owner - receved a response almost 2.5 days after our initital email.

A Hidden Treasure

Our family had the absolute best time together at Pueblo Marinero in Puerta Cortes! I was beyond pleased with the communication, service and commitment to our experience demonstrated by Marlene. The location is fabulous, just north of the main drag, an Uber will take 10 min to arrive and cost 7-8 bucks to the Malecón centro. There are so many adventures to be had both in town and at sea. The beach club is a 5 star experience; infinity pool, private beach, poolside service with INCREDIBLE cocktails and a great restaurant. The view into the surrounding harbor and sea is breathtaking at sunset. The surrounding marina has a few solid restaurants as well for the nights you want to stay local. We encountered a brief maintenance issue on arrival, Marlene’s team jumped into action immediately; the problem was solved within 1 hour. 0 complaints here. Disregard any potential concerns of safety and noise, I felt safer here than my hometown and never heard a peep during evening/early AM. The beds are comfortable, the shower pressure and temp is US quality and the 2bd served our family of four quite nicely. Very well appointed; it feels like home. Check in and check out were simple and accommodating - it felt like staying at a friend’s house the entire time, truly! As someone who has traveled all over Mexico, not only can I say that La Paz is a treasure but that this property provided the BEST experience I can recall to date. Will be back!

My family and I stayed at Pueblo Marinero and had the most amazing time. The property is located in a beautiful resort facing the marina where you can find nice restaurants with delicious food, coffee shops, and a wonderful beach club. The property has everything you need for your stay. Marlene is the most amazing host. From the time we reserved thru checking out she was very attentive making sure we have the most amazing time. She was very detailed oriented on her recommendations and guidance. In addition our host was very caring when we needed the most going above and beyond to accommodating us for an extra night. Thanks I can’t wait to come back to Marlene’s place and to recommend iher property to our family and friends!

Spacious and Relaxing with Nice Views

This is an excellent unit for a family or two couples. It is nicely appointed and has lovely views of the Costabaja marina. The main living area is spacious and both the bedrooms are good-sized. Everything at the resort -- beach, pool, restaurants etc. -- is just a very short walk away. The entire set up is easy and relaxing. The city of La Paz is a 10 to 15 minute drive away and there are also interesting beaches 20 to 30 minutes away. The restaurants at the Costabaja resort are generally good; the poolside bar and restaurant is very nice and an excellent choice for lunch. The mini-market on the premises is handy but limited -- if you are doing any significant cooking, you will want to go to a grocery store in town. The mini-mart does have small cafe that produces pretty good breakfasts. One note about La Paz is that all the beaches seem to have very slow drop-offs and little surf. This makes them safe and good to walk in (and swim in, once one walks out) but there is no body surfing etc.

Great Place. Very Clean Condo.

My family and I had a great time staying at this Condo. It is a great location, the Club pool, restaurant, and beach area are great. I think the only negative thing that I can say is that the Condo is above the Dive Shop so there is some noise in the morning when the Divers are checking in. I wake up early so is not a big deal but it is worth knowing about it.

Great Condo! Everything is close on the resort property and I would recommend the restaurants except for the sushi, maybe an off night but was not good at all. The sunsets where beautiful from the bar on the beach. The people of La Paz where very accommodating and just very hospitable. This is a jewel that I hope tourist do not ruin. Ottimo il servizio di comunicazione e prenotazione con Marlene così come l'accoglienza di Staphanie! Conoscevamo già la zona quindi siamo andati sul sicuro per l'ottima posizione, direttamente affacciato alla marina del CostaBaja a pochi passi dalla piscina per grandi e piccini (utilizzo gratuito), con servizi impeccabili. Posto auto riservato proprio dietro al l'appartamento. Dispone di 2 camere matrimoniali ciascuna con proprio bagno privato e doccia grande! Ampio terrazzo con divanetto tavolo e sedie per colazioni o cenette indimenticabili. Ampio soggiorno e comodo angolo cottura con tutto il necessario. Biancheria letto e bagno buona! C'erano anche due ombrelloni disponibili da poter usare nelle spiagge limitrofe. Posto al primo piano accessibile da una scala esterna, vicinissimo a un ottimo ristorante di sushi (da provare!). Wi-Fi gratuito e veloce. Sotto l'appartamento c'è anche un ATM automatico per poter prelevare in tutta comodità. Ovviamente è anche vicino al mare, ma conviene spostarsi in auto per apprezzare al meglio quanto può offrire La Paz. Veramente consigliabile a tutti!

Had an incredible time. Would highly recommend!

Took my fiance here for a getaway from grad school. The unit was amazing, with two completely separate bedrooms and bathrooms, large living room area, and giant outdoor patio. Had a great view of the marina. it was quiet and peaceful, just what we needed. About 7 minute drive from town, with activities only steps below us. We linked up with FunBaja for a trip to Espiritu Santo Island. Sushi place inside the complex was awesome, and we were a short drive from Balandra and Tecolote Beaches. Only thing I would do differently next time is stay longer. Thank you Marlene for an incredible experience!!
