Ask a questionAbout Toni Devereaux
I retired from Walt Disney Studios in 2007. Now I love to travel; I do home exchanges with my Pasadena home all over the world. As a host I know how to make a home comfortable for visitors, and I'm aware of what I look for as a guest in someone else's home. I grew up in upstate NY, went to college in Ohio and lived for a time in Chicago, so I'm used to snowy winters and I actually miss them! I love coming to the mountains for the change of seasons, hiking and x-country skiing, or just watching the birds from the deck.
Toni Devereaux purchased this cabin in 1985
Why Toni Devereaux chose Pine Mountain Club
My ex-husband and I bought this cabin in 1985. We wanted a retreat where he could golf and I could x-country ski and we could enjoy nature with our family. We had thought of looking in Big Bear, east of LA, but a friend told us about Pine Mountain Club which is so much closer and quieter. It's never crowded, even on holidays, and has a real small town feel, plus it's only 90 minutes from my home in Pasadena.
What makes this cabin unique
When I'm in my cabin I feel like I'm in another world. It's absolutely quiet on the cul-de-sac. The back deck which looks out onto green space with birds, squirrels and the occasional deer. The interior is all knotty pine, even the ceilings, and there's a big stone fireplace. Starting right across from the cabin a neighbor has built a series of rock-lined paths through the woods, with little tables and seats made from tree stumps; it's just a 10 minute walk to the village through the 'enchanted forest.' I love to hike and x-country ski on Mt. Pinos, and enjoy the live music, swimming and tennis at the clubhouse. For home entertainment, I have accumulated a library of over 200 movies on dvd, laser disc and tape. I enjoy sharing my cabin with guests and I use it myself as often as I can; a weekend at the cabin feels like a real vacation.
