Gorgeous two story, four bedroom family home in a quiet location that sits right on the shore of Lake Ontario providing a front row seat to breathtaking views and spectacular sunrises and sunsets. The property offers plenty of parking and is the perfect size for families, corporate guests, visiting professors/teachers, honeymooners or a couple just looking to get away from it all. Access to Sodus Bay, Rochester, shopping outlets, the Finger Lakes, wine country and more.

It’s all about the location and just one day at the Hendee Homestead will have you saying that this is the perfect place that makes you feel right at home for your Spring, Summer or Fall vacation or holiday getaway

THE HOUSE:
FIRST FLOOR –
Main Entry - Leads directly to the spacious mudroom with a separate room attached containing the full size washer and dryer.
Living Room - Large sofa and chairs, TV, floor to ceiling stone chimney, ceiling fan
Kitchen – Full size kitchen located just off of the great room and is fully equipped with refrigerator, four burner stove, oven, microwave, coffee maker, toaster and griddle. Separate bar area with second full size refrigerator for all your favorite beverages.
All utensils, dinnerware, glassware, cutlery, and cookware included.

Bathroom - 1 full bath with shower
Bedroom 1 – Queen size bed with private ½ bathroom. Closet. Ceiing fan

RELAX – Relax and prepare to be mesmerized by the awesomeness of Lake Ontario!! Have a drink on the deck and take in the beautiful sunsets while dinner is cooking on the grill. Once the sun goes down enjoy the breathtaking view of the night sky while enjoying a campfire with family and friends.
THE LAKE – Easy access to the lake where you can swim, snorkel, float and soak up the sun! The lake front is flat table rock so no annoying rocks and pebbles to maneuver through to take a quick dip!
FISH – A fishing charter is minutes away with access to the waters of Lake Ontario and Sodus Bay so well known for Salmon, Steelhead, Rainbow and Brown Trout, Bass, Walleye and Perch
WHAT ELSE - Watch the Heron and Eagles fly by the house, go hiking at Chimney Bluffs State Park, do a little shopping in the quaint shops of Sodus Point or Pultneyville or even the outlets near Geneva. You are in Western New York and the heart of wine country….take advantage!

Located right on the water

Although we were in town for work, this house was very nice and met our needs. Communication with the owners was good, and they assured we understood how everything worked. Check in was easy and the whole stay ended up being great. I would definitely stay here again.

The sign over the bay window says it: "It's all good." All was good with our stay. A quiet spot on the water, some swimming, reading. Helpful neighbors. The house was clean and comfortable, enough space for us all. We hope to return.

A beautiful property on Lake Ontario in Sodus Point

Property is located on the shores of Lake Ontario and is well maintained by the owner. The house is well stocked with all the amenities. Th owner Mike and his brother Steve is excellent to work with. We are a group of seven retired professionals and had a great time at the property. The area of Sodus Bay also have great dining, wineries and various attractions that we enjoyed visiting.

Sodus Stay with Friends & Family

We loved the layout and location of this sweet home, and as cooks we were relieved that the kitchen was so well set up, stocked, and clean. There was plenty of space for everyone to spread out and read, or play card games, and not be on top of eachother. The only letdown was that we'd booked it specifically because it was on Lake Ontario and we were keen to swim, and we didn't find out until a few days before that the stairs to the water weren't in place. (Due to high water that the owners have no control over) Thankfully there was a big yard and plenty of yard games to keep us busy on land, and the views were spectacular.

This home is in quiet neighborhood with an incredible panoramic view of Lake Ontario. An easy ride to Chimney Bluffs, Sodus Point lighthouse, wineries and plenty of stops on the Wayne County Apple tour! Easy check in. Kitchen had everything we needed. A small spiderweb, but we visited in fall when the spiders are busy. Beds and bedding were clean and comfortable. Plenty of room for our group of 8 to relax. Loved the back deck and stairway to the lake. Highly recommend!

Perfect lakefront location for a family retreat.

Mike’s house lake house was the perfect home base for my parents, siblings, and me as we came together for a family birthday celebration nearby. The home is exceptionally well-equipped, clean, and graciously accommodated us. Communication was great, and the views of the lake were perfect. We considered staying in hotels— this was a much better option. Thanks for the great stay!

Beautiful house on amazing Lake Ontario. We weren't able to go in the water because the waves were too intense (we think the hurricane may have contributed to this) but we visited Sodus Point Beach. Sunsets were amazing. Thank you for having us. Very enjoyable stay.

Sunsets and Family

We were here from Tennessee for our son’s wedding . The house was perfect. Very well equipped, clean, and great location for our needs. The sunsets were some of the most beautiful we have ever seen. We enjoyed dinner on the deck with the bride’s family the day before the wedding and breakfast the day after. We hope to be able to visit again when we can really relax. Also, met a couple of the neighbors- they encouraged us to come back and bring my husband’s guitar and play some music with them. Great time.

Beautiful view of the lake!

The house is nice and big. 2 private master bedrooms - one with a full private bath - one with a private powder room Unfortunately the lake has expanded and there is no access to the beach. We were able to walk up the road to access the rocky waters edge. Its wonderful to hear the water from the upstairs bedroom window. The kitchen is well stocked with pots and pans, dishes etc.

This quaint summer cottage was purchased by our parents in 1983. In 1990, following the death of our mother, our father did a complete remodel of the property into a 2100+ sq ft, 2 level, year round home. Since the passing of our father in 2011, we (4 siblings who now live in Boston, DC, and Rochester) have enjoyed the house as a year round vacation get away. To help defray the cost of second home ownership, we are looking to rent our vacation home out to others who are looking for a vacation that is a 'home away from home'.
