About the host

Host profile image
My German wife Reini and I emigrated from South Africa with our two daughters twenty-seven years ago. After living in Ipswich, Massachusetts for five years we moved to our current location on the Merrimack River in West Newbury.

Why they chose this property

The peaceful, safe, rural nature of the riverside village of West Newbury and yet close proximity to cities like Boston and Newburyport and Portsmouth were the primary reasons for making this area our home.

What makes this property unique

The Mediterranean style with stucco exterior reminded me of vacation homes in more tropical locations.
I enjoy boating and fishing and love living right on the banks of the Merrimack River with access to the Atlantic Ocean.
Wild and birdlife abound with frequent sightings of Whitetail deer, Red foxes, majestic Bald Eagles, Osprey, Herons, Mute swans, Canadian geese, Mallard ducks, etc.
