About the host
Hosted by Cherie Stewart
My background is in Arts Management & I love renovation & interior design. I found Three Beaches in 2017 & transformed her from an unloved, languishing shack to a stylish, comfortable & tranquil retreat near the beach. She has responded beautifully to some TLC & I know she is loving her journey from plain Jane to the best dressed girl in the district! I like travel, good food & spending time with my family & look forward to seeing more of the world. I am a self-confessed people pleaser & local expert on the stunning Hobart & Huon Valley
Why they chose this property
Three Beaches was a solidly built but unloved home which had been languishing on the market in spite of its lovely location just by the beach. She has responded beautifully to some TLC (tender loving care!) with a view to make her comfortable & liveable throughout the year rather than the occasional weekend. Given her industrial metallic exterior cladding & setting in the pastoral Huon Valley, it seemed natural to decorate her in a country industrial style & highlight her place in the agricultural heritage of the region. Original apple box labels decorate the wall artwork, as do scenes from local photographer Chris Cobern of Eggs & Bacon Bay, Randalls Beach, Kaoota, Cradoc, Huonville and Hobart landmarks including the Tasman bridge & Kelly's Steps.
Daily visits to the house from Kookaburras, Superb Fairy Wrens & Scarlet Robins & nightly appearances of marsupial Pademelons (small wallabies) & Possums. Quolls & Tassie Devils are common. Dolphins are frequently seen close to shore at nearby Verona Sands Beach. Randalls Bay is known as one of the world's best spots for Aurora Australis (Southern Lights) viewing.
