Suburban DC VRBO

The unit is in a quiet neighborhood and about 10 minutes from the Metro stations. The upstairs bedrooms are roomy and bright. The basement "master suite" was roomy for the bed but the bathroom and closet situation was lacking. All-in-all a good stay. The ad is a little confusing as there is parking right in front of the unit and there is NO swimming pool available.

Rats and poor service!

The only good things about this stay were the check in process and the location was closed to where I was working, along with the house being nice.With that out of the way, this experience was WELL BELOW EXPECTATIONS! First off, there were rats in the backyard as a result of neighboring yards not being maintained, rendering the yard completely useless for my dog and I in order to avoid catching Lepto! Also, the backyard was not maintained at all! Next, somebody’s socks were found in the basement and somebody’s nasal medicine was found in the kitchen (I assume the actual owner?) there was also a bunch of damage that I noted to the team. (I didn’t worry about the sock because it wasn’t a big deal to me.)Next my work project site was shut down a week into my stay and I had to return home to Cleveland. On top of that, Andrew refused to refund me the rest of the trip and refused to cancel it! The site remained closed for the rest of the month, opens May 5th, the Monday after I was scheduled to leave the house; however, since I had to not only go back to Cleveland a week in, I no longer felt that the house/area was safe for my dog and I! Andrew also refused to communicate with me directly and just had his assistants talk to me! Talk about unprofessional!Next, there’s no pool! Not sure why that’s even in the list.Next, there was a southern black widow in the basement that crawled in from the water heater room, that could’ve severely harmed us! Stay away from this rental group!!

We’d like to clarify that this review was submitted after Ian attempted to cancel his reservation, and we followed the cancellation policy agreed upon at booking. VRBO reviewed the situation and ultimately sided with us, affirming that we acted in accordance with the platform’s guidelines. Regarding the claims made in Ians review, we have no documented evidence of any of these issues during his stay. In fact, two separate licensed pest control companies have inspected the property and confirmed there are no pests inside the home. While we cannot control animals in their natural outdoor habitat, we do take every precaution to maintain a clean and safe environment both inside and outside the home. We pride ourselves on clear communication, and while you may not have spoken directly with Andrew, our team was responsive and professional in addressing Ians concerns throughout his stay. We understand that this experience didn’t meet Ians expectations, but we stand by the quality and integrity of our home and our service.
