We were so impressed with this cottage, it has so much character and charm. This my perfect for my husband, myself, and my brother in law for the week. Being right on the cove, the temperature stayed comfortable all week. I’ve never had comfier beds than here! Lots of amenities, my husband and I loved playing checkers in the game room.
Exactly as listed. Wonderful little spot out of the hustle and bustle of town, but close to many activities. We enjoyed our stay here and would recommend this to others who are looking for a quiet relaxing getaway.
Couple on 4 day getaway enjoyed the comfort of a good bed and nice shower. We really did not utilized the kitchen much, but it is well stocked with all you need for any type of cooking. We stayed during a 3 day “heat wave” but proximity to water and adequate fan power cooled the cottage down nicely.Close to great amenities in Boothbay and good restaurants on Southport Island.Definitely a great value and would book again
My husband and our toddler son and I had a great stay. There were toys for our son to play with and the cottage was so spacious. The owners were very responsive and helpful. The location was perfect only being minutes from shopping and restaurants. We would stay again if in the area.
The cottage was quite dated. Adding a 30 fee in order to have linens and towels is absurd. I certainly do not travel with those supplies and expect the linens to be on the bed and towels in the bathroom upon arrival The pillows were old and uncomfortable. I have traveled to Maine many times and found this house roomy but disappointing. It was clean and I enjoyed the location.
My husband and I stayed at the cottage for a few days with our toddler son. The house was great for our needs and even closer to the main attractions in the area than I anticipated. Nice layout for having a 2 year old (no major childproof related concerns, doors that could close off sections of the cottage). Temperature in the cottage was comfortable for our stay in early June. No sheets or towels as indicated in the listing / by the host, so we brought our own. Would recommend to others!
The cottage met our needs... quiet surroundings by the water... casual interior spaces.... comfortable bed....near Boothbay and Botanical Gardens.. efficient kitchen... lots of windows.... short walk to Robinson's wharf
I rent in this area every year and this cottage was by far the most comfortable and "Maine - like" I've ever stayed in. The owner was super, and hands-on. I will definitely come back again.
The cottage was quaint with nice wooded surroundings and was a convenient proximity to all things Booth Bay Harbor. My friend and I had a very lovely time and the property owners were easy to communicate with. Would recommend.
We asked for Robinson wharf to celebrate wedding anniversary. It is one roadway from restaurant! But, no view of water due to trees and weeds. Cottage is mostly knotty pine boards on walls AND ceiling. There is no air conditioning and this summer was unusually hot and humid. The backyard grill covered in overgrowth. Neighbor #36 was cutting wood 4pm so we left the noise and visited Southport trading co for sandwiches. Took them to Hendricks beach but stayed in our truck as the beach was covered in trash, seaweed and flies. Bathroom has been remodeled with stone flooring. Nice, but shower stall only. Two porches for relaxing indoors. Small outside deck with Adirondack chairs for sunning. Needs railing down steep steps. Bd comfortable, opened 2 windows to get breeze from porch. Second bd is a daybed with trundle. We didn't need it. Ok for 2 small kiddos. Work in progress, holes look like electricity upgrades. Kitchen has lots of plates, glassware, spices. Full electric stove!Charming...walls covered in antique shop decor.
It was clean and out of the way of touristy Boothbay Harbor. I also like cooking so the Kitchen was perfect.
I kayaked Biked ate lobster and fish and visited Coastal Botanical Gardens
My wife, sister and I had a wonderful time in the Southport community and a fantastic stay in the cottage. The cottage, it was as if my 12-year-old self awakened in a dream full of warm comforting ambience and feeling at home. A perfect setting for we three.
The cottage was very clean and had everything that we needed.. good location and very quiet .. only thing we missed was an air conditioner..otherwise the fans were useful
Charming cottage that met all our needs. Beds were comfortable, kitchen well equipped and very nicely decorated.
Great location with lighthouse and botanical gardens very close. Just one note that we read Reid Park as being just over 4 miles away it's actually over 40 miles.
This cottage was very well equipped and relaxing, with multiple porches and rooms to chill out. We were very comfortable. The communication with the owner was fantastic. She quickly answered any questions that we had. Would definitely stay here again.

We are a family of 4 that has fallen in love with the Boothbay Harbor area. When we bought our cottage, it needed a lot of work. Since my husband is a carpenter, we have been able to do most of the work ourselves. We spent many, many weekends remodeling, painting, plumbing, etc, including the year that we had it lifted and a foundation put under it. Our 2 two daughters have been very involved with creating our wonderful getaway, even when all they wanted to do was stay home with their friends. The four of us have put our hearts into our little Maine cottage with the hopes of it staying in our family for generations.
Why they chose this property
The reason we chose this cottage was, I'm pretty sure, by complete luck. We spent many years traveling to Portland and in 2000 we thought, what the heck, let's see if we can own a place in Maine. We drove to Boothbay and toured the area falling in love with it. We drove all over Southport, asking people if anyone they know was interested in selling a cottage. With no leads, we decided to subscribe to the local newspaper. In the very first issue we recieved, there was the listing we had dreamed of. The 4 of us packed up and drove to Maine 3 days later, bid against 4 other families and got our beautiful Cottage. From that day on, it has been our labor of love.
