The Old Coach House is one of three properties at Hendra Barns resort, near the village of Mitchell, located close to Newquay and Truro in Cornwall.

This holiday property offers relaxation with quality surroundings. The Old Coach House is ideally situated with the A30 only 2 miles away giving you the opportunity to discover Cornwall to the full.

It is single-story converted coach house, and each of the bedrooms and living/diner opens onto the large, level garden. From the garden, guests can look over the grounds and lakes.

Guests of the three properties have exclusive use of the 2.5 acres, including the lakeside arbour for evening dining and coarse fishing on the lakes.

A lovely Cornish welcome pack to greet us on arrival (cream on top of course!).Comfortable place with plenty of space indoors and outdoors to enjoy. All amenities we needed were provided to utilise during our stay.Maggie & Ken were immediately at hand for any questions and provided us with some logs for the wood burner. Ideal location for access to the north & south coasts, and Newquay or Truro, whilst situated in a quiet, rural area. Overall, great value for money.

Host not able to respond by vrbo app so we had to ring to get a response. Which was quick after speaking. The water was brown and undrinkable which affected cost of purchasing bottled water. Problem with en-suite shower, no pressure or hot water in en-suite shower, so used other bathroom shower which had good pressure and heat. Beds looked very good, but all thin mattresses with springs felt. The place looked great but a bit disappointed overall for cost. Location great and host pleasant.

Lovely stay in a beautiful setting

Wanted a property on one level as mum has difficulty walking. This was a perfect property. Excellent position for all tourist resorts. Weather was starting to get colder in the evening & the wood burner did just the job. The property was well maintained & had all you would need. Ken was onsite & would help with anything you needed. Would definitely return & recommend to friends.

The property is in a stunning location with beautiful grounds.

Ideal for our party of two couples and two dogs. Good location for visiting either coastline and the Eden Project. The Old Coach House was clean and comfortable.

Good Location

Property was in a good location central to all areas of cornwall. It was well furnished with all amenities required. Nothing is perfect and there were a couple of niggling issues which were notified to the owner. but not withstanding that would visit again.

Lovely property

The Old Coach House was a lovely house with wonderful views and an enclosed garden which was perfect for our young dog and children. It was immaculately clean and the beds were really comfortable. We all had a wonderful holiday and would love to return one day. One thing, we could have done with a slightly larger BBQ for 6 of us. Otherwise fabulous.

Great property

Thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The property is great and made even more enjoyable for our boys who went fishing in the lake every day. Highly recommend.

Lovely property set in beautiful surroundings.

Excellent property to stay at, very central to visit Cornwall. Very clean and well laid out, garden over looked a beautiful back drop of the countryside. Would highly recommend as a place to stay with kids and dogs.

I have owned Hendra Barns for more than 17 years and over that time have put my heart and soul into this beautiful place. It has been a joy to work on these old buildings and bring them back to life. Hendra keeps me busy with the every day jobs. It's a pleasure as the setting is peaceful as well as relaxing, I am always around to ask advice as I live 200 yards away up the lane in Keepers Cottage.

Why they chose this property

The Old Coach House will not disappoint you with it's walled garden and great views over the beautiful valley. It's spacious Living area and Kitchen. The bedrooms make for the perfect stay. I feel in love with it and it hasn't changed from the first time I saw it with all it's charm and character. The place will only have a good effect on you, if it's time to relax and soak up the atmosphere you be in the right place, Cornwall has so much to offer and it's all here in a short drive away but want to get away from it all then The Old Coach House is the perfect spot for you.
