Lovingly renovated Fisherman's cottage « Luazinha »

Luazinha is one of the few Fisherman's cottages along the lagoons edge at Pinherio that still exists. It has been lovingly renovated to create a cozy cottage on the Ria Formosa Nature reserve, a rare, secluded and unspoilt spot on the Eastern Algarve.

Wake up to the sound of the sea and birds chirping in a beautiful calm environment.

Take a stroll along the walkway and cycle route on the lagoons edge, which also has a fabulous fish restaurant. All of this right on your doorstep. Easy access to beaches and towns along the Eastern Algarve within a few minutes drive from Luazinha.

Luazinha has 2 air conditioned bedrooms, an open plan living area and shower room. There is broadband Internet, a TV and DVD for watching films on.

The preferred area of the cottage is the roof terrace. With views over the lagoon and far reaching views of the sea. At night you are showered in stars, which reflect off of the water. Hence the name Luazinha – Little Moon. There is also a front terrace where you can sit and watch the world go by, watch the locals picking shell fish in the lagoon and the abundant bird life in the area.

There is a dining table off the quaint kitchen area and sofa in the lounge which also has a wood burner for winter sun holidays.

Get back to nature on your Algarve holiday and explore the Ria Formosa Natural Reserve. Be lucky enough to stay right in the heart of The Ria Formosa at one of our houses. The nature park stretches along most of the Eastern Algarve coastline. It is basically a collection of marshes, salt pans and lagoons forming a barrier from the sea to the land.

It is a big pull for nature lovers and particularly bird watchers, who flock here (pardon the pun) to catch sight of a large variety of birds, many of which use the Ria Formosa as a migratory ground or stop-over in the winter.
In addition to bird watching, it is also a fantastic place to see all types of wildlife, flora and fauna and if you like walking, there are trails to take, so you can enjoy nature at its best. If you want to enjoy all this at higher speeds then there are bikes for hire or perhaps you’d prefer the view from the back of a horse. You could also book a boat trip and enjoy it from the water.
