__________________________________________________________________________________________ This is our family’s waterfront cottage on West Lake, a place we slowly built and furnished over the years as a gathering spot for our family and friends.
Most groups who stay here are families or close friends coming together for a relaxed stay, a milestone birthday or anniversary, or simply a chance to reconnect somewhere special with space to spend time together.
We bought it as a place to gather. At first we just wanted somewhere outside the city to spend time with our kids, but over time it started to feel like a reflection of who we are.
Some of our favourite moments here are simple ones, board games with our kids that never seem to end and long outdoor dinners that drift late into the evening.
Many guests say it feels more like visiting a close friend's home than staying at a rental. We've set it up the way we like it when we're here ourselves. It's comfortable, a bit over the top in the best way, and filled with things we genuinely love.
People often tell us they end up spending more time at the house than they expected, especially in the evenings, because everything is already set up for cooking, games, and time together.
Guests in May and June often spend the day exploring wineries or the Sandbanks trails and then return for a long dinner on the balcony and a night of games.
When the weather turns cooler, the rhythm shifts a little. Guests explore the County during the day and then settle back at the cottage for long dinners, pinball tournaments, movies, and board games at the dining table. In the fall, many also spend time on the Prince Edward County Arts Trail or at Countylicious before coming back for a relaxed evening together.
Over the years we’ve seen all kinds of groups enjoy the cottage in their own way. Some guests are grandparents bringing everyone together under one roof. Others are lifelong friends catching up after the kids are in bed, while many are families reconnecting around the water.
The house has multiple living areas, along with the balcony, dock, and quieter corners around the property, so people naturally drift between gathering together and finding their own space during the day. Many guests specifically mention that even with a full group, it never feels crowded, and smaller groups often tell us the cottage feels just as comfortable for a quiet weekend as it does for a full house gathering. It’s one of the reasons we’ve held onto it over the years.
The cottage sits on Sheba’s Island with a west-facing waterfront that is ideal for swimming, paddling, and lounging. The gentle, shallow water entry makes it easy for both children and adults to get in and enjoy the lake.
There is a wide, private dock for morning coffee or relaxing in the sun. You will find floating islands, a canoe, a paddleboard, and beach toys, all ready for you to enjoy the lake. And yes, the Wi-Fi signal reaches all the way to the end of the dock. Because the cottage faces west, you get full sunset views across the lake each evening.
Sandbanks West Lake Dunes are just four kilometres from the cottage. It is an easy bike ride or a quick drive. Two car park day passes are included with your stay, so while you still need to make a reservation, you won’t need to pay any park entry fees.
Inside, the cottage is immaculately clean and exceptionally well maintained.
The chef’s kitchen looks out over the lake and is stocked with everything you need to cook, bake, or host with ease. Guest reviews often mention that it’s one of the best-equipped kitchens they’ve ever rented. Even professional caterers have commented on how complete and intuitive it is. You’ll find a commercial Jura coffee and cappuccino machine (Lavazza beans provided as we are coffee lovers), an induction cooktop, convection oven, wine fridge, ice maker, Le Creuset cookware, an air fryer, a waffle maker, lobster pots, and everything you need for baking, along with much more.
Ask about our private executive chef and sommelier. He would love to cook an intimate dinner for you and your guests while you watch. Menus are tailored to your tastes with wine pairings on request.
Whether it’s a quiet breakfast, baking something together, or setting the table for a full house, the kitchen is set up to make it all feel easy.
Meals can be shared around a rustic outdoor dining table for twelve on the covered balcony or at the large indoor dining table overlooking the water. You can choose from a variety of china, handmade platters, table linens, cloth napkins, candles, and oil lamps to help every meal feel special.
Outside, there is an extra-large BBQ and a premium WITT gas pizza oven from Denmark. Both are perfect for relaxed family barbecues and "make your own" pizza nights.
The living spaces are bright, welcoming, and designed for comfort. There is an upstairs living room with an extra-deep, goose-down-filled sofa. A lake-facing family room downstairs for games and movies. And a cozy media nook tucked among arcade games.
You will find four Smart TVs with Netflix and satellite channels, an extensive DVD library, puzzles, cookbooks, board games, and Wi-Fi throughout. A printer and scanner are available if needed.
Our games room is truly one of a kind.
It includes collector-level pinball machines, including Jurassic Park Premium and Wizard of Oz 75th Anniversary Edition, as well as shuffleboard, a tournament dart machine, foosball, air hockey, a pool table, and ping pong. There is also a retro gaming setup connected to the TV, featuring authentic arcade controls and over 3,000 games, including favourites like Pac-Man and Galaga. You will also find Virtua Cop 2, an all-time classic light gun game that is rarely found in working condition in private collections.
Many guest reviews mention that time in the games room, especially family tournaments, became one of the highlights of their stay.
One of our family’s favourite is the giant "Memory Wall" beside the games room. It’s where kids sketch the day’s adventures and full-wall games of Pictionary break out.
The cottage bedrooms:
Primary upstairs bedroom (#1) with a king-sized bed, private balcony facing the water, and an ensuite bathroom. Upstairs bedroom (#2) with two double beds. Upstairs bedroom (#3) with a queen bed and water views. Lower-level bedrooms (#4) and (#5), each with a queen bed, shared living area, and bathroom. (Occupancy and room rental limits and STA regulations apply.)
The fun continues outside. There are bikes for island rides, croquet and horseshoes on the lawn, a basketball net plus a trampoline and tire swing for kids, and a historic County canning bucket firepit down by the water. It's perfect for sunset bonfires, sharing stories, and roasting marshmallows.
Hidden among the trees is the Tree Fort, a two-room, two-level hideout with Wi-Fi, perfect for kids’ adventures and breakfasts on the balcony.
We welcome non-shedding dogs with prior approval. Smoking is never allowed inside the house.
The cottage has central air, full laundry supplies, firewood, candles, and even bug spray ready for your stay.
Check-in time is 4:00 pm. Check-out time is 10:30 am.
Unlike a commercial rental, this is our family’s gathering place. From the cookbooks on the shelves to the art on the walls, everything here tells part of our family's story. These things were added slowly over the years, simply because we enjoy them. Guests often tell us that’s what stands out most.
If this feels like the kind of place your family or friends would truly enjoy, I would be happy to chat.

We were a group of 10 adults touring around the County, and the Cottage was an absolute dream. The location is spectaular, with the most incredible sunsets! The Cottage was beautiful, and the hosts were very responsive whenever necessary. Looking forward to our next visit!
What a warm and unique place. Our small group truly appreciated the hospitality in such a well appointed lakefront property.Everything we needed and more.We would definitely go back!
a great spot for a few couples or good sized family to enjoy a weekend. The region offers great summer and fall activities. Owner was very good, communicative and the process was smooth. Games rooms were fantastic. A great choice overall.
We had an absolutely fantastic stay at this lake house! The property is incredibly spacious, beautifully maintained, and was spotlessly clean when we arrived. It genuinely felt like a home away from home because the hosts have thought of everything—the house is fully stocked with all the essentials you could possibly need. There was so much to keep us entertained right on the property. The kids were obsessed with the pinball machine and pool table indoors, and we all had a blast taking the water floats out on the lake during the day. When it was time to wind down, the beds were exceptionally comfortable and provided a great night’s sleep. You also cannot beat this location. Being right next door to Sandbanks Provincial Park made beach days incredibly easy, and we loved how close we were to the heart of Prince Edward County's wine country. Greg and Bill were excellent hosts. Highly recommend this rental to anyone looking for a fun, relaxing, and effortless family vacation in PEC!
My family and I have vacationed in PEC since covid. We always enjoyed coming and knew we would come back every year. We were looking for a house that we could feel we'd want to come back to time and time again. We were looking for kid-friendly, on the water, near Sandbanks, and a family friendly home that had the supplies we needed. And this was exactly that. Both Greg and Bill were wonderful and so easy to communicate with. If we had any issues (they were minimal) Bill was there for us. The home had the perfect amount of space for my family and everyone wishes to come back near year. If you're looking for a week to hang out with your family on the water, play some games, and then at the end of the day, everyone gets their own space to sleep in, this is the one.
Our group of 10 friends were very impressed with this cottage and we used every inch of the accommodation.Located on beautiful West lake and close to the wineries, stores and small villages in PEC.
My family and I spent one fabulous week at this house in September. Communication with Greg before our stay and with Bill (the onsite handyman) while we were there were smooth. The space is cozy, game rooms are so much fun, the kitchen is very well-equipped and the overall surrounding make this house the perfect place for a vacation. We visited multiple wineries and restaurants - Sandbanks has it all if you are a foodie type. Would go back at this beautiful house anytime!
We had a really wonderful weekend at Greg’s place! The view was beautiful’, the kids had so much fun with all the activities. It was so nice to be able to eat all our supper outside on the balcony. House was very clean and had everything we needed.
We will be back for sure!
Thanks again:)
This was a pleasant surprise, better than advertised. Host was superb in communication. Plus a friendly property manager of sorts nearby, ready to assist. Lots of things to do in the house. Too cold for fun on the shoreline, but that would be icing on the cake. Highly recommend.
Our family enjoyed an absolutely wonderful stay at this beautiful cottage while celebrating a 65th birthday and relishing some summer fun! There were six adults and three children (ages 1, 2 and 7), and the cottage was perfect for all of us.From the moment we arrived (with a friendly welcome from Bill), we were impressed by the attention to detail throughout the property. Everything was thoughtfully prepared, beautifully maintained, and designed to make guests feel comfortable and at home. The setting was simply amazing, providing the perfect backdrop for a memorable family celebration! The cottage was spacious (so many rooms to play or relax within), well-equipped (everything we could possibly need for cooking, games & puzzles to enjoy, and equipment for fun on the lake!), and had everything we needed for both the adults and the little ones to enjoy our time together. The games room was epic! We absolutely loved the upper deck for dining and the sitting area to relax! We made so many wonderful memories and truly appreciated the care and thought that went into creating such a special place.Thank you Greg for welcoming us and staying in communication throughout our stay. A huge thank you to Bill for your friendly chats and checking in on us from time to time. We wouldn't hesitate to recommend this cottage to anyone looking for a relaxing getaway, and we hope to return again in the future!
Greg’s communications are spot on and incredibly thorough. The house is so much nicer in person. The game rooms are perfect for the kids and the beauty is incredible. We will definitely be back
My friend group and I enjoyed Greg’s cottage for a wonderful weekend in PEC! The cottage completely exceeded our expectations and the welcome guide as well as the property manager left no question unanswered! We already look forward to coming back next year and making our stay at Greg’s cottage a yearly tradition!
We were a group of 10 women celebrating a milestone birthday. We had an amazing time! The accommodations were very appropriate for our needs. Detailed information about the property was readily available. Communication was super. Check in was easy. All amenities were available and as described. All of us would consider coming back here for a family event. Thank you, Greg!
Our extended family traveled from Cincinnati, Waterloo, Ottawa, and Montreal to gather for a week, and this well-maintained, well-stocked cottage was the perfect fit for us.The cottage and lakeside waterfront was beautiful, comfortable, and had everything we needed. The owner provided a detailed operator's manual that came in handy a couple of times and made managing everything seamless. Bill, a property manager residing nearby, came to check on us a couple times to make sure all was going smooth. We loved spending time on the waterfront here enjoying an annual family get together.Greg, the owner, provided lots of information and suggestions prior to our trip on what we can do at the cottage and surrounding area. We packed a ton of activities into our week but still couldn't do it all! Some of our highlights included renting a pontoon boat for a trip to Sandbanks (hanging out on the Lake Ontario side) and grabbing lunch at Pounders. We also had a fantastic day wine tasting at Sandbanks and The Grange (our preference!), broken up by an amazing lunch at The Drake Devonshire, and even made use of the public gym and sauna in Picton. It was a thoroughly satisfying vacation. The hospitality here is top-notch. We are already talking about coming back again in the future! Thank you for a wonderful stay!
Our family really enjoyed our time at Greg’s cottage. His property manager was there when we arrived and showed us how everything worked. We had a few questions during our stay which were answered very quickly.
The cottage is lovely and large and has everything you could possibly need!
We would highly recommend this cottage to others.
We had a wonderful time celebrating a big birthday at Greg's place. The house was perfect for our group of 6 adults and 3 kids ages 3 to 7 -- lots of common areas big enough for everyone to be together, but also room to spread out so each person could have their own space when needed. The range of available games was unparalleled, from pinball to pool to wooden train sets to boardgames and puzzles for all ages, to the delight of both kids and adults. The house was impeccably clean and very-well equipped (we had an awesome pizza night using the fancy pizza oven on the balcony), and came with an extensive manual to help us find what we needed. It is also filled with beautiful and varied artwork, and the sunsets over West Lake are amazing. It's a very short drive from Sandbanks and it was great to have passes provided. Communication with the host, Greg, was quick and easy from the beginning of the booking process right through to the end of our stay -- he answered all our questions quickly and extensively and provided many suggestions for things to do around the county. Onsite, Bill did a great job making sure we had everything we needed and helping out with any issues we ran into. We would gladly return and would highly recommend this place for larger groups to use as a home base in PEC.
Our family loved our extended Thanksgiving at this lovely property! Beautiful lakefront setting with a gentle slope to the water. Fire pit on the beach was ideal and sunsets were stunning. Many comfortable sitting areas - inside and outside. Well appointed kitchen and bbq area for the cooks in the family. Stunning, eclectic artwork and furniture throughout - feels like a lovely home not a sterile rental. Two game rooms were amazing - we played pinball, darts, air hockey, shuffle board and pool. Great location within a short drive to Wellington or Picton and wineries. Can’t wait till next time!
My family celebrated a milestone birthday and we could not have asked for a better cottage. There were 10 of us including 2 children under 2. The cottage is incredibly well appointed and nothing has been forgotten. Bill, the property manager was very responsive to all of my questions. I love the cottage ‘Opereating Manual’ as I know it saved many questions for Bill. Its proximity to Sandbanks and the inclusion of a season pass was such a bonus and we made full use of the park.I would highly recommend the cottage to any one looking for a larger cottage. I would not hesitate to return as we all had a wonderful holiday.
We rented Greg’s cottage to celebrate my Parents 50th anniversary with my family and my brothers.
For a group of 6 adults and 4 teens this place was perfect. Spacious enough that when people needed their own space they had it. The size and amount of bathrooms was great. The water pressure in the showers was also fantastic.
More than enough activities to do and extremely close to Sandbanks. The use of the day passes was an added bonus. I am now addicted to pinball!
Greg and Bill were both readily available.
Would highly recommend staying here.
The location and is great- just as advertised. We had various family members rotate through over the 10 days we stayed and they were all blown away by the cottage, location and amenities. The weather was a bit cool for several days so the games room and pinball machines got a pretty good workout. Greg the owner was in frequent contact and Bill who looks after maintenance was over frequently. Nice man who evidently cared that we had a good time. We will be back!
Dave and Heidi from Kleinburg Ontario.
I cannot say enough positive things about our stay at this lovely property. From the ease of the booking process to the excellent communication from the host it truly excellent. The property manager met us at the house and gave a very completely introduction to the property. This place really does have it all!!
Everything you could need is supplied from items for cooking to entertainment for the kids/adults to toys for the lake this house is fully stocked.
This was, by far, the best vacation home we have ever rented and the entire family had a blast. I cannot recommend this property, the host, or the property manger enough. Truly a top notch job done by all and we thank everyone for a memorable vacation.

About the host
Hosted by owner/property manager
We’re a family from Toronto who loves spending time outdoors, cooking together, and relaxing by the water.
Our cottage has been our happy place for years, a spot where we reconnect with our kids, extended family, and close friends.
We believe the best vacations aren’t about fancy hotels but about laughter around a campfire, quiet mornings on the dock, family tournaments and sharing home-cooked meals after a day on the water.
Hosting allows us to share that feeling with other families looking for the same kind of memories.
Greg
Why they chose this property
We chose Sheba’s Island because it feels like a hidden gem.
It's quiet, private, and perfect for families, yet only minutes from Sandbanks and all the best of Prince Edward County.
The sunsets over West Lake are spectacular, the gentle shoreline is perfect, and the peaceful vibe makes it easy to enjoy time together.
PEC offers the perfect balance of nature and small-town charm.
What makes this property unique
Our cottage isn’t a commercial rental; it’s our family home designed for making memories.
From the west-facing waterfront and wide private dock to the gourmet kitchen and our incredible games room, every detail is about bringing people together.
Most guests tell us it feels like staying at a friend’s beloved family cottage, not just renting a house, and that’s exactly how we hope you’ll feel too.
