The house is bright and spacious with a nice entrance hall with large wardrobe, modern style open kitchen, dining area, sitting area in the living room, 4 bedrooms with modern tailored bulk beds, a master bedroom with a king-size bed, wardrobes and a door out to the terrace, 2 bathroom with a shower, a TV in the living room with a sofa bed and a a washer is in the bathroom. The living room / dining area has windows to the East and the south so it has spectacular view can be enjoyed. Around the house is a terrace with a beautiful view and a private playground for kids with swings and sandbox.
Other things to note

Even though the house is central for the south-west Iceland and is close to the main road to Geysir and Gullfoss , it is very quiet around the house. People staying there will experience very relaxing atmosphere.

Beautiful house and great location

It is a very spacious, clean,quiet, and bright house. The kitchen is well equipped with every thing we need. The location is excellent too. We stayed a whole week and enjoyed it very much.

Wonderful spot for family getaway

We had a wonderful stay at this home which is close to nearly all the important attractions in the golden circle. Very well equipped with comfortable beds for 3 couples plus a bonus bedroom allowed for a comfortable stay for our extended family of 6. The large deck provided a great viewing location for the Northern lights which graced us with an appearance. two nights during our stay. The owner made the entire process simple and was very responsive with any questions we had. I highly recommend staying here for your family trip to the golden circle.

Beautiful home with a nice view.

The house was very spacious for our family of 7. We cooked breakfasts and dinners each day and the kitchen was well stocked for our needs. Beautiful view of farm lands with horses and sheep nearby. Nice large deck with bbq grill. Great location for sites around the Golden Circle and not too far from Reykjavik. Recommend Fridheimar Tomato Farm nearby for delicious tomato soup! We loved this home and would definitely recommend it!

Sehr schöne Ferienwohnung mit tollem Ausblick

Wir hatten für 7 Nächte und 5 Personen die Ferienwohnung gebucht und waren begeistert. Die Ausstattung und Räume sind wie in der Anzeige beschrieben. Wir hatten viel Platz und der Ausblick aus den Fenstern war fantastisch. Der Check In lief problemlos ab, trotz das wir erst sehr spät ankamen. Die Kommunikation mit dem Vermieter war super. Nochmal ganz herzlichen Dank auch für die tollen Tips, diese haben uns sehr geholfen. Es war ein wunderschöner Urlaub und diese Unterkunft ist sehr zu empfehlen. Viele Grüße aus Thüringen Carolin

Nice stay in Iceland

Great place to stay an hour and a half outside of Reykjavik. Well stocked home with everything you need. Close to south shore. Saw the Northern Lights one night in spite of not so ideal weather. Would stay here again.

Wunderbare Location - sehr gemütliches Haus, perfekt gelegen!!!

Für eine Woche im Südwesten liegt das Haus absolut perfekt! Nur 10 Minuten zum Geysir und 15 Minuten zum Gullfoss, den man unbedingt gesehen haben muss, ein wahrer Traum. Wir haben das Haus mit 7 Personen genutzt und der Platz war absolut ausreichend! Der Blick vom Haus war fantastisch, von der Terrasse aus hat man einen wundervollen Blick in die weite Landschaft, im Hintergrund die Berge - einfach super!!! Das Haus ist prima ausgestattet, genug Handtücher, Geschirr und auch sonst alles da, was man braucht. Es fehlt vielleicht ein Schrank für die Kleidung, aber wir haben uns mit den Fensterbrettern gut beholfen und für einen Outdoorurlaub hat man ja auch keine Masse an Klamotten dabei ;) Das Haus können wir besten Gewissens weiterempfehlen, zum Wohlfühlen bestens geeignet, wenn das Wetter einem doch mal einen Strich durch die Rechnung macht! For a week in the southwest the house is absolutely perfect! Only 10 minutes to Geysir and 15 minutes to Gullfoss, which you must have seen, a true dream. We used the house with 7 people and the place was absolutely sufficient! The view from the house was fantastic, from the terrace you have a wonderful view of the wide landscape, in the background the mountains - just great! The house is well equipped, enough towels, dishes and everything else there, what you need. It may be missing a closet for the clothes, but we got along well with the window sills and for an outdoor holiday you have no mass of clothes;) We can recommend the house in good conscience, perfectly suited for well-being! Many thanks to Sigurthor and his family!!!

Wij hebben 6 dagen, in de winter, in een compleet, sfeervol huis met een prachtig uitzicht doorgebracht. Trips gemaakt onder allerlei weersomstandigheden! Dit was voor ons de 10e keer dat wij IJsland in de winter bezochten.

Sigurtor is a carpenter and that is his main job. The family bought this property in the year 2006 and repaired the house and have made it modern.

Sigurtor is married to Árný who is working in a kinder garden. They have 2 daughters Erla and Unnur and 4 grand children.

Erla is working for a travel company in Iceland that specialize in longer tours and Glacier hikes . Erla is also taking care off all the bookings for their country home.
Unnur works in the Icelandic zoo - there you are able to see all the Icelandic house animals and wild animals in Iceland. The zoo is called Fjölskyldu og Húsdýragarðuinn and is located in Reykjavík.

The home is the place for the family to go and relax and enjoy their hobby (horses) and have fun with family and friends.
