It was named after the Muse Urania which represents Astronomy. During World War II, the Urania was damaged severely and the dome with the observatory was totally destroyed. After its reconstruction, it was reopened during 1957. The observatory itself has been continually improved technically over the years.
Presently the Urania also has seminar rooms in which wide-ranging classes and lectures are given, a movie theater that screens at the annual Viennale movie festival, and a puppet theater created originally by actor Hans Kraus.

Very welcoming and helpful host. This apartment is perfect for couples, with a lovely bathroom huge living area and a very useful separate kitchen. Everything was very clean and functional. It is in easy walking distance to the city centre and has nice restaurants, a supermarket and a tram stop only 5 minutes walk away.
We loved our stay at the apartment. A great space that is very close to public transportation allowing access to anywhere in the city. We will definitely stay here again.
The host was kind enough to meet us at an assigned time when we opted not to use our phones in Europe. The place is nothing fancy but the location os wonderful for enjoying the old inner city of Vienna. We walked everywhere, even to the Danube, except for a drive out to Schönbrunn Palace. There is a very reasonable parking garage two blocks away ans weekend parking is free on the street. I highly recommend this spot.

Yes, however the pictures are misleading. There was no bottle of champagne as it shows in the pictures. Bed was extremely uncomfortable.

Thank you for your feedback. We’re sorry to hear that some aspects of your stay did not meet your expectations.
Regarding the champagne, this item is used as a decorative element in the listing photos to showcase the atmosphere of the apartment and is not listed as an included amenity; similar to how staging items are often used in hotel or real estate photography.
As for the bed, comfort can be very subjective. Many of our guests have found the mattress comfortable, but we understand that preferences vary from person to person.
We appreciate you taking the time to share your experience and will keep your comments in mind as we continue to improve.

Easy access from train station & walking distance to most city attractions.
Good communication with host.
Well equipped apartment.
We stayed in the apartment for four days, and the location was very peaceful even though it was close to the centre of Vienna. The main room was spacious and perfect for what we wanted.
We were grateful to have the air conditioning as it was hot during our stay.
Mani was very helpful.
Owner was very friendly, even helped us out with stuff not related to the apartment :) Location is central but not too central. Only 5 minute walk to the mall where all the main trains are. Very clean apartment too :)
Nice 1 studio flat on 3rd floor. Well located 7 min walk to Mitte. Street trams close by. Clean, quiet with washer and dishwasher. Great communication. Great value stay in a hotspot. If you need washer pods or shower gel, a grocery is 4 min walk. Recommended
Very bright and clean location, conveniently situated to access the Cat train going directly to the airport. An easy walk to the center to enjoy the magnificent Vienna. Mani was there right on time to greet us and very accessible.

The apartment was immaculately clean. Everything you needed for a comfortable stay. The couch is different than in photos. The host was readily available and met us upon check in. In a quiet residential neighbourhood which was great, with groceries and restaurants nearby. 6 minute walk to trams and metro. About 25-35 minute walk to main sights in Vienna.
We would stay there again and recommend it.

Why they chose this property
Landstrasse has a quite a varied appearance, especially due to the mixture of old and new structures. For instance, both the Belvedere and the Hundertwasserhaus are located here, as are the Rochusmarkt, the shopping street Landstrasse itself, the Stadtpark, and the KustHaus. Furthermore, the 3rd is home to several embassies which makes the district into a very safe one.
