Plan your getaway to this cozy cabin located on a peninsula with a 180 degree view of beautiful Maple Lake. Whether you're looking for a romantic weekend, a fall trip for apple picking and visits to pumpkin farms, a cozy winter getaway or fun filled summer vacation, Maple Leaf Cabin is your lakeside retreat! Book now for Fall 2025. Full weeks only, Friday to Friday, during July and August. Discount for long-term stays in the off-season. Pontoon boat available April-October. Well-behaved pets are always welcome.

Maple Lake is a 172 acre, mile long all sports lake just 2 hours from both Chicago and Detroit, with easy access from I-94.

Maple Leaf Cabin features a bedroom with full sized bed with 100% cotton sheets and quilt. The cabin also has an indoor dining area, modern kitchen and bath, and washer/dryer for laundry. The cabin features a huge screened porch with floor to ceiling views of the lake. Enjoy meals from the large square picnic table, take afternoon naps, play board games or read by lamplight.
The cabin also has wonderful outdoor space, with a deck, fire pit, picnic table and plenty of adirondack chairs to relax and enjoy the view of the lake while sipping morning coffee or sampling a glass of local wine.



Dine out in local restaurants and pubs or create your own feast from local farmstands and (if you're lucky) your own catch of the day! Fish off the seawall or paddle the lake in our canoe. Or cruise the lake on Miss Maple, our pontoon boat--great for fishing, basking in the sun or sipping cocktails at sunset (extra charge applies). Hunt for antiques, stroll a few blocks for ice cream or a movie in Paw Paw's vintage theatre or visit a u-pick farm or local winery. Check out the microbrews at the Paw Paw Brewing Co.--don't forget to bring the growler from the cabin for a refill. Or relax and do nothing...It's always great to get away to Maple Leaf Cabin--and don't forget your pets!

My stay was pure bliss! I was pleasantly surprised to realize that my friend from Wisconsin had stayed here a few years back and that was a wonderful memory considering she is no longer with us. The lake view is outstanding and I had all the conveniences of home. The cottage was the perfect size and coziness. I stayed the weekend to visit with friends in the area and will probably stay here again.

Little cabin with the best view

This little cabin is so cozy (comfy for two), but the best part is the big screened porch overlooking the length of Maple Lake...and the use of Miss Maple, the pontoon boat. We had a relaxing stay and great visit with nearby family.

The cottage itself was quaint and cuter than the pictures! We loved the decorating and felt it was very clean! Like everyone, I’m sure, we loved the screened in porch and the perfect view of the lake. We spent much of our time just soaking in God’s beautiful landscape! We rented the pontoon and enjoyed taking some swims in the lake to cool off.

Beautiful lakeside house

Not only were the views of the lake amazing so was the house. My wife loved the theming and how cozy it was inside and outside on the porch. The location was perfect walking distance to everything in town.

Such a storybook cottage! The cabin is adorable, exceptional clean, very well stocked with anything you will possibly need. Very private, never saw a person which was exactly what I needed. The porch is where you will live! I was very happy with my stay.That being said, I do feel I need to mention the lake is on M40, a very busy road so traffic noise all day. The traffic was very loud from 5am to 11:30pm. So not very peaceful. If that is not bothersome then all else is perfection!

Relaxing, serene vacation!

The cabin has every need one could ask for in a vacation rental. The views of the lake are the best. The screened in porch allowed us to enjoy the outdoors even when it rained. The proximity to great food was an unexpected pleasure.

Great Little Getaway!

We had a wonderful, healing experience at the cabin following the loss of my sister. Much of our family lives in the area and were able to share and enjoy the lake together. What a little gem this is!

Perfect spot

We had a really nice time staying at this property. Sean was an Excellent host! The “Miss Maple” boat was fun for some nice cruises around the lake. My dogs are pretty upset about having to leave. When we come back, you can bet this will be our 1st choice.

We had a great time. The cottage was stocked and clean. Great host with good communication. Lots of dining choices within walking distance. We highly recommend “La Cantina” Italian restaurant.

This was our second time staying at Maple Leaf Cabin. The view from the screened in porch is the best on the lake and the cabin has everything you need for your stay. Fishing off the dock or Miss Maple was great! Our little dog loved cruising the lake on Miss Maple. Thank you, Shawn, for another relaxing and enjoyable trip!

Relaxing

The wife and I and our dog stayed for four nights. Everything was great. We also rented the pontoon which we used everyday. Grilled and had bonfires. Highly recommend.

Cant wait to come back next year

I've been 2x already, and can't wait to come back next year. The view of the lake is as peaceful a place on earth as I've been in many years. Plan to do nothing, and be pleasantly surprised. Napping on the screen porch with the breeze, watching the sunrise from a beautiful red glow at first, to full morning sun over the lake, it is all magnificently tranquil.

Exceptional property

The best view on the lake. Cozy cottage with a great fire pit overlooking Maple Lake. We used the pontoon several times. Paw Paw is a nice town with some excellent restaurants. ( Ate at the Taphouse twice) We were entertained with music at the local band shell. Less than an hour to Saugatuck where we went on a dune buggy ride. Lots of fun.

True escape by the lake

We just had one of the best, most relaxing vacations ever! The house is small but has everything you need. The screened in porch is awesome, the view is unreal. Saw herons, an osprey, and a bald Eagle while on the lake! Wineries and a brewery only blocks away. Fantastic water pressure in the shower and a nice Weber grill (what a great touch). Just great!

More than we expected

The listing for this property looked really good, and we were pleasantly surprised it exceeded our expectations. Our first impression it was clean and welcoming... as we found our way around we really appreciated all the various living spaces and amenities - the screen porch, the fire pit, the grilling station, the kitchen, bed, and bathroom - all were nice, tastefully done, and well-supplied. My wife's comment was "this will be hard to beat"!

Quaint Cottage

Small but adequate for two adults. Very clean, tastefully decorated with a rustic, cottage flair. Host had more than ample supplies of paper products, linens, wood for fire pit if you choose to use it. Breathtaking views from the screened in porch. Porch had great rockers and a futon. Bring you fishing pole if you like bass. Man caught 4 lb bass off in boat a few yards from the doc. Tuesday night LaCantina had 6.00 spaghetti special- magnificent! All in all a very relaxing experience.

Million and a half dollar views

I couldnt figure out how one small cottage at the lake could get so many excellent reviews. Until we stayed there. The views thru the giant screen porch sliding door, are unobstructed by any beams or uprights. Just the beautiful lake...and fish jumping, birds chirping. Everything you might need, except your smile and a swimsuit, is right there- and a movie, or a choice of nice eats, are within walking distance, and groceries are 2 minute drive. Heaven actually does exist, but you need to go the Maple Lake house, to see for yourself. You would need to try, to have a bad time at Shawns place. Cant wait to go back.

We love getting away and enjoying time at the cabin. We like to relax on the porch, sip wine while taking Miss Maple on a spin around the lake, then throw some steaks on the grill. When we're not antiquing or gardening, we play with our chocolate lab Riptide--he loves to swim and fetch toys from the lake. Come visit the cabin--you and your dog will love it too!

Why they chose this property

We fell in love with the view of the lake--within five minutes of arriving we decided to buy it. We live in Chicago and can leave the City after work on Friday and still arrive in time to open a bottle of wine and fire up the grill--it's a great antidote to city life.

What makes this property unique

We love to relax at Maple Leaf Cabin, whether reading on the screened porch, drinking coffee overlooking the lake or cocktails on the pontoon boat, Miss Maple, it's always a great getaway. The cabin is fully outfitted and Paw Paw has everything we need so it's not necessary to bring alot of stuff--just hop in the car and go. We love visiting the farmstands and farmers' markets for local produce but if we don't feel like cooking there are many good restaurants, from casual to fine dining, where we can grab a great country breakfast or enjoy a relaxing dinner right on the water. And there are always new wines to taste at the wineries--just a few short blocks away!
