Great little getaway

The cabin was perfectly as described, very cozy and comfortable, and had everything we needed. The location gave us great access to nearby hikes and nature.

Weekend Girls Hiking Trip

Great experience for a long weekend hiking trip with a hot tube to soothe our sore muscles each night. Pretty close to all the hikes that we want to get to. Two ladies stayed and we felt very safe. Landlord was fantastic with communication and readily available if we needed anything. The place was very cute and we would definitely stay there again. There is no reception for Verizon users as you get close to the property, so make sure you study a map before you come or have a printed copy with you.

Just what the doctor ordered

My wife and I lead very hectic lives and we were just looking for a place to stop and get off the merry-go-round. We were specifically looking for solitude and a wood burning fireplace, a rare commodity with rentals. This place fit the bill. Well maintained, cleaned and ready for guests. Evolve's process was smooth and attentive. Whether it was cuddling by the fire, or spending time in the hot tub counting shooting stars, this place was a joy.

Intimate cabin close to Shenandoah River

The property was located in a small uphill neighborhood from the Shenandoah River. The cabin was located on a larger property with a larger yard. The hot tub is located on the deck which faced the back yard semi secluded by larger trees. There was a fire pit and an in-ground grill. The exterior is very basic, however all of the decor was lovely and up-to-date with full internet access, and television. The was rafting/canoeing/kayaking rental 5 min away.

Nice place close to national park

I really liked this place for 2 adults and 2 elementary age children. The hot tub wasn't in best shape... Many jets didn't work well, but kids enjoyed it anyway. Music/playlist on SONOS was excellent. Internet was good enough for some last minute work. The street is a dirt road, but a 4 wheel drive vehicle is not needed. Whoever wrote that before, just can't drive. I would definitely consider staying here again if coming back to area.

Cute rental but a number of issues

I never am one to write an unfavorable review. Honestly, I love giving 5 stars and when a place doesn’t meet expectations I have a hard time leaving a critical public review. While we enjoyed our stay, there were a few issues I think were too important not to mention for other prospective renters. First, I reached out to the rental property contact prior to arrival via the email provided and they never replied. Not too serious at the time as I just had a small question, but after the issues we encountered at the rental I wish we would have had a responsive contact person. Next, for anyone renting here you should know about accessing the property. It is a dirt mountain road, and it is VERY uneven. We were in a pick up truck with 4WD so not an issue for us, but had we driven 5 hours to get there in a sedan, only to find out we couldn’t get close enough to the property to stay we would have been extremely disappointed. We have lots of experience with mountain house stays, mountain roads, and driving unpaved and off road type conditions and I can’t imagine anyone without a truck or SUV would be able to get to this property. And I saw nothing indicating this in the listing for the property. At the rental both the fireplace was non functioning and the hot tub was broken and needed maintenance. Again we have a hot tub so we are familiar with working them. There was some issue with the heater and the water would not warm up. These two things are such a disappointment, because being on vacation these are the nice amenities I was looking to have. Had I known this property did not have a working fireplace or hot tub I would have chosen to stay somewhere else.

This was exactly what I needed to get away for a few days. The house was clean and decorated nicely. Everything was very comfortable and cozy. Just want to give a couple of my thoughts after reading some previous reviews. Most of the jets in the hot tub don’t work, but it was hot and I still spent a couple of hours out there, relaxing and listening to the birds. Also, the drive coming up is not the greatest, but it’s not terrible. You just have to drive slowly around a couple of the curves. I saw a handmade sign that said 5 mph and that was pretty accurate. But you don’t need four-wheel-drive or an SUV to get up. Just go slow and pay attention to the bumps in the road.

Over the weekend my husband and I had an amazing experience in the cabin. From the cleanliness, to the decor and the guest host! 10/10!! I would definitely recommend. The hot tub was perfect, hot, clean and the lights! The fire pit was great as well. We didn’t get a chance to use the fireplace but the master bedroom BED!! TOP TIER! It was so hard to peel myself out of it at times. lol! However, overall this cabin was everything and just may be back. We don’t like staying in the same place twice but in the mountains, this may change our minds. Thanks again Stephen for being such an amazing host and with making sure we were good the entire time and making recommendations since we’re not from the area was great. The Chop House Bistro 10/10. Ask for Missy, her personality is out of this world , love her!

Wonderful Mountain Retreat

What a hidden gem in Luray! The house is well appointed and so very peaceful. We loved the hot tub too. The road heading up to the house is a steep hill which is not paved - but our mini van handled it just fine! Close to Luray Caverns and Shenendoah - the kids were already asking to come back as we drove away!

Great place to rest

We enjoyed this cabin to get away from the city for the holiday weekend. The location is great and the space is exactly what is needed for a long weekend. The hot tub was fabulous and we enjoyed watching the sun rise from the deck.

We enjoyed our stay here so much, would definitely stay here again! It was just what we were looking for, with the location out in the country and up a winding gravel road! The town of Luray was quaint and we adored it and really enjoyed the amazing caverns located there! Hot tub was a plus! Highly recommend for a nice wintery getaway!
