Summary:
Set above Sandy Bay and Enclosure Bay, Island Escape combines wide sea views, a sunny north-facing deck and easy access to two sheltered swimming bays. The main house sleeps six across three bedrooms, while a separate cabin provides extra space for larger families or groups. Oneroa Village and the Matiatia ferry are around ten minutes away by car.
The Space:
Island Escape is arranged for easy indoor-outdoor living and makes the most of its elevated position above the surrounding bays. The main house center's around an open-plan living, dining, and kitchen area, where timber detailing and natural light create a calm, comfortable atmosphere. Large bifold doors open directly to a wide, north-facing deck that captures all-day sun and uninterrupted views across the water.
The kitchen is modern and practical, set up for shared meals, relaxed breakfasts, and unhurried evenings at home. The living and dining areas flow together easily, making the space work well for groups spending time together.
Island Escape sits in an elevated position above Sandy Bay and Enclosure Bay, with wide sea views and a large north-facing deck designed to make the most of the sun and coastal setting.
At the center of the main house is an open-plan kitchen, dining and living area with timber detailing and plenty of natural light. Large bifold doors open directly onto the deck, extending the living space outdoors and creating an easy setting for meals, relaxing in the sun and spending time together while taking in the view.
The modern kitchen connects directly with the dining and living areas and is set up for everyday holiday cooking and shared meals, with a new Bosch dishwasher installed early 2026.
The main house has three bedrooms and two bathrooms. The master bedroom has a king bed, ensuite and direct access to its own private deck with sea views. The second bedroom has a queen bed, while the third has a super king that can be split into two singles on request.
A detached cabin provides additional sleeping space away from the main house. It has a queen bed and bunk beds, along with its own deck. This works particularly well for families, teenagers or guests who appreciate some separation from the main living areas. Please note that the cabin does not have its own bathroom, so guests staying there use the bathrooms in the main house.
Together, the main house and cabin accommodate up to ten guests.

The Neighborhood:
Island Escape is positioned close to both Sandy Bay and Enclosure Bay, with each within a short walk of the property. Their calm, sheltered waters make them popular for swimming and snorkelling.
A nearby bush track also connects through to Hekerua Bay, giving guests another way to explore this part of Waiheke's coastline.
Oneroa Village is around ten minutes away by car, with supermarkets, cafés, boutiques, galleries and restaurants including Fenice and The Oyster Inn.
Mudbrick, Cable Bay, Tantalus Estate and Stonyridge are also within easy reach for guests planning vineyard visits or lunches during their stay.

Public buses operate nearby and connect with Oneroa, the ferry terminal, beaches and several vineyard areas. Taxis and rideshare services are also available, although availability can be more limited during busy periods.
E-bikes and scooters can be hired in Oneroa for guests who prefer to explore the island without a car.
Other Things to Note:
This is a self-catered holiday home, not a fully catered stay. We provide a starter supply of essentials such as toilet paper, coffee, tea, and milk to help you settle in on arrival. Once these starter items have been used, guests are responsible for purchasing any additional supplies needed during their stay.
Beach towels are provided at properties with an available pool or spa. Guests staying at properties without a pool or spa will need to bring their own beach towels.
Like most Waiheke homes, Island Escape runs on rainwater, so we ask guests to use it thoughtfully during their stay.
There is a detached cabin set apart from the main house, offering privacy and flexibility for families or friends staying together.
Minimum stay requirements apply, seven nights from mid-December to mid-January, three nights for the rest of January and all holiday weekends, and two nights at all other times.
Interaction with Guests:
The home is set up for a private and independent stay.
For life-threatening emergencies, including medical events or fire, guests must call 111 immediately.
For urgent, non-life-threatening property issues outside business hours, an after-hours contact number is provided in the arrival information.
