Welcome to City Pad @ Ryedale House - An incredibly stylish1 bedroom apartment set right at in the centre of all York has to offer.

Ryedale House is an exclusive, private development in the heart of York's historic core beside the River Foss. The building benefits from secure allocated parking and the apartment itself sits on the second floor with views over the Piccadilly area. Perfect for a spot of people watching!

The apartment benefits from thoughtful interior design throughout as is apparent when stepping into the entrance hallway for the first time. The living area features a gorgeous 'L' shaped sofa and contemporary artwork collage of various shots from around the city. There's a smart TV on offer too when you need a bit of downtime from being out and about. The sofa actually converts to a sofa bed to accommodate the occasional extra guest if needed.

The kitchen area has been designed to the highest standards and features premium Neff appliances throughout along with a Krups coffee machine. The dining space can seat 4 for dinner and the high quality wooden floors throughout the apartment also have the added benefit of underfloor heating.

The master bedroom features a luxurious king size bed and wall mounted Sony TV.The bedroom also benefits from having USB sockets near the bed and high quality carpet.

The bathroom is fully tiled and has a spacious walk in shower and Villeroy & Boch bathroom fixtures. There's also an additional wc within the apartment.

The property also has the added benefit of an allocated, secure car parking space onsite.

Prime location

We overall enjoyed our stay at this property. We loved: - The location and the building the apartment was in felt very secure - The property was very spacious and had a great large shower - very tastefully decorated We didn’t love so much: - mattress quite springy and we actually left early due to poor nights sleep however this can be seen more as a preference - attention to detail with cleaning could be improved, greasy utensils in the kitchen and lots of water marks on toilet door off the kitchen. - could do with a deep clean however on the surface it’s fine and I can appreciate it’s a quick turn around getting the apartment ready for next guests.

Lovely Apartment

We loved this apartment, very modern and spacious, had everything we needed, including a car parking space! It is literally in the town centre, a couple of minutes walk and you are in The Shambles. Ryedale House is very nice, you feel like you are in a hotel as opposed to an apartment block. The staff at the Reception are all lovely and helpful. Would highly recommend staying here :)

Second stay

Second stay at this fabulous apartment,cannot fault anything about it,so close to town (and pubs,highly recommend red lion nearest pub.) Really impressed with parking and ease of access.Will definitely be going back,as a side note Stays York also very impressive ie booking,paying,and communicating even texted to say apartment was ready early,so had an extra afternoon in town.happy place.

Ideal location close to city centre, everything in easy walking distance. Car park space available very useful. Flat had everything required for short stays although longer ones (we were there for 16 nights) would benefit from a couple of very small additions. Would stay there again.

Quality apartment

Just the best place we have stayed at in 40 years of staying in York,superb modern apartment,super secure parking,concierge in the entrance lobby super helpful,probably three mins walk to town centre,warm underfloor heating, comfy bed,no traffic noise,big windows on second floor to people watch, oh and a lift so easy access if stairs are a challenge (like me,bad knee's) I can highly recommend this apartment also In York provided excellent service.

City Pad is located in a smart modern apartment complex very close to the centre of York. It is a very short walk to all parts of the city, with plenty of restaurants within a few minutes stroll. It is very different from anywhere else we’ve stayed in York but we liked the modern features. The apartment is well laid out, with plenty of space for the two of us. We didn’t use the car very much, as it is so easy to explore by foot, but the parking area is gated and safe. It was a bit of a tight squeeze to manoeuvre in and out of the space if the car park was busy, but we really appreciated the on site parking. The road between Ryedale House and the city centre is undergoing a lot of regeneration, so there was a little disturbance from building work on the other side of the road during the day. However, this didn’t detract from our enjoyment of the stay. We’d definitely consider staying here again.

Great short stay!

I booked for 3 nights in October 2024. Information was provided well in advance and was easy to follow. You have to find a parking space (on the main road nearby) before heading inside to find your keys and fob. The apartment was excellent. Has everything you need. After several weeks away prior, the washer / dryer was incredibly helpful. The apartment is furnished very well and has everything you need. On site off street parking was so helpful too. Highly recommend!

Five night stay.

Great location easy walk to all York sights. Secure undercover parking. Microwave was dirty. Kettle should be left empty. Apart from that the cleanliness was good. The mattress was only fair. Still a great apartment.

The sofa bed is very bad, especially for an adult (the mattress is extremely thin). The bed in the main room is not very good, probably old and used too much. It would have been useful to get the information that the sheets and duvet of the sofa bed are under the other part of the sofa. The location is great.

Short stay at Citypad

Just back from a 2 night stay at Citypad Ryedale house York. Easy to find in the car. Had a parking space included which was a great find in York. The whole place was secure and easy instructions on how to access the keys for the flat. Really impressed with the flat. Had everything we needed for a short stay. It was very nicely decorated and both the settee and bed was comfortable. The room temperature was spot on. Just right. The concierge at the front desk was very helpfull too. Would definately stay again.

Excellent short break

Excellent location with parking space on site. Very near Town Centre and close to all attractions of York. Lots of places to eat and drink and caters for most tastes. City Pad is on the second floor and looks out onto the road . The accommodation was spotlessly clean and had everything needed for a short or longer stay. Bag with chocolate, crisps, couple biscuits and sachets milk ,coffee ,teabags to make a drink on arrival .Toilet rolls , small bars soap ,washing up liquid and a couple dishwasher tablets provided. Bed/furniture comfortable. Excellent walk in shower. In a block of apartments which itself was very quiet, some noise from outside when windows open but is very near Town Centre. No complaints at all about accommodation, we did stay in a very hot period so was very warm inside even with windows open so a fan would have been nice but with our usual weather this would not have been a problem.

A little City Centre Gem

I have been holidaying in York for years now and have always opted for a hotel. So when I spied this apartment in the city centre with secure on site parking it was a bit of a no brainer. On checking out the usual hotel I used against the price of the apartment it was only going to be a little more expensive than I would have paid for the hotel. After careful consideration I thought I would try out the apartment this year, as it gave more flexibility in terms of being able to cook my own meals, separate sleeping and living areas and the secure parking. This apartment really is a little gem, the location is fantastic and the standard of facilities and decor throughout are very high. I also had a couple of dealings with the on site concierge who was incredibly helpful for some little questions I had, without the need to get in touch with York Stays. I would certainly look to book this apartment again and highly recommend it to friends and family looking for a city centre escape in York!

City Pad at Ryedale House Review

We had visited friends at Ryedale house in the previous Spring and we were impressed by the quality of the apartment and location of the apartment. So, we booked City Pad apartment for two nights in November 2024 to take advantage of the location, (near to York Barbican). Although not the same apartment, we liked the great car parking space, cleanliness and function of City Pad and as already stated its location in relation to the venue. Couple of small niggles: Not really enough storage space in the bedrooms and especially the ensuite bathroom - struggled even to find somewhere to put a washbag! Who's idea was it to put the bathroom mirror on a different wall from the sink. Finally, broadcast channels on the TV were non existent for most of our stay and the broadband was inadequate to effectively run the streaming and catchup channels. Having said all that though, it is a good apartment, with very welcome secure parking and we would stay again, albeit perhaps in a two bedroom apartment:-) Kevin

Fabulous location in York

This little apartment was in a wonderful location in York and it was a huge bonus to have a car spot included. We loved our stay here - the kitchen and living area are great, a fabulous shower and comfortable bed. The separate laundry area made for a quick place to dry washing, although we were grateful we took a travel clothesline as there is a small rack but no clothes horse. A couple of minor things that were not so great. Firstly there is a temporary key pad on the front door and the code we were provided for check in did not work. Thankfully other guests arrived while I was trying to enter and helped me out. For some reason the infloor heating was set at 33 degrees c when we arrived and it was very hot in the apartment. Whenever we reset the temp it reverted to 33 during the day and we returned to a hot apartment, so I ended up setting the unit on “holiday” mode which solved this. Communication could be improved. I contacted Stays York via their website contact us link (no email is provided) to advise of the above and a broken glass jug in the kitchen but had no response. Regardless of the small issues above we would recommend Ryedale house to future guests.

Great location but beds could be better

Whilst we loved the decor and the location, the comfort of the main bed and the pull-out sofa was lacking. The main bed needs a better mattress and despite the property management had the bed base repaired, it was still not up to normal expectations. Apart from this, we enjoyed all of the other furniture and decorations in the flat.

Beautiful Property in great location

Beautiful property with lovely furnishings and all essentials in kitchen. Great location to walk into York, car park a bonus for the location. A few negatives: uncomfortable bed, no towel rail in guest bathroom and insufficient storage in bedroom if staying longer than a couple of days particularly if more than 1 person.

This is a lovely apartment in a central location, ideal for being close to everything. We found it easy to find and the on site parking was excellent. The apartment was spotless and comfortable, there was even a welcome hamper that contained some ok sky local items. Would definitely recommend and will stay again.

A great flat in brilliant location

We visited York for a long weekend and this place was perfect for us. It was really clean and had a very straightforward check in and check out process. The bonus was also free car parking. I would definitely recommend this place and look forward to another trip to York so we can stay here again!

Fantastic Place

We stayed here for the last 6 nights of our honeymoon and it was a great place to stay. So modern and everything you need. It is literally on the door step of the city. It has the bonus of a secure car park included. Very comfortable bed and living area. Would definitely stay again. Also the staff at Stays York were fantastic, they sorted this apartment out for us as we had to leave our other accommodation (not booked through them), We had a slight problem on check out but they sorted within minutes (we couldn’t get out of the car park, it’s that secure). Nice touch was a bag of bits including coffee, Jam, biscuits etc. 10 out of 10, Would highly recommend if your in York.
