Welcome to The Dukes Townhouse. Tucked away from the hustle and bustle of York City Centre, which is only a 5 minute's walk away, sat in a leafy street in York, this beautiful Victorian Townhouse has recently been renovated into 5 fabulous 1 bedroom apartments. All have access to unlimited super-fast WIFI and have been fully furnished with your comfort and enjoyment in mind.

On entering through the front door you are immediately drawn in via the beautiful hallway, with both original York stone floors and staircase. You will find The Grand situated on the first floor. This beautiful one bedroom apartment is bright and airy and is designed to provide a comfortable base from which to explore the delights of York.

The decor has been carefully chosen to provide that touch of luxury, whilst also being totally in keeping with the building. You have a stunning open plan living area, with sofas that you can snuggle down into whilst watching a movie, or enjoying a chilled bottle of something lovely! The kitchen is fully fitted and has everything you will need, right down to the wine fridge and the DeLonghi coffee machine. The breakfast bar by the window provides the perfect spot to sit and chat, or look out onto the quiet leafy street and watch the world go by.

There is a wet room complete with walk in shower. A lovely sized bedroom complete with a king-size bed is perfect after a long day out exploring the City of York, or after an evening of eating and drinking at the many many different venues that make York the perfect place for a city break. The apartment is only a 5 minute walk from the York Art Gallery and another 3 minutes to the steps of the world famous York Minster and only a five minute walk over the bridge from the station. It was a great property, location was lovely. Only a 4 out of 5 because the rooms echoed from upstairs which was loud throughout the night, but otherwise still a great place to stay and really convenient to get to the Centre.

Pleasant stay

I really enjoyed my stay at The Grand at Dukes Townhouse. The location was excellent, close to the train, on a quiet street, and only a short walk into town. The flat was clean and spacious, with a thoughtful welcome basket on arrival. The management company was very responsive and handled everything quickly. I also appreciated that the neighbors were considerate, (the building is older and the walls are thin) which made the stay feel peaceful. Overall, it was a comfortable, convenient, and welcoming place to stay, and I would happily return.

Just perfect!

The Grand at Dukes townhouse couldn’t have been any more perfect! The Appartment was easy to find and access and just a short walk from the station, we revived a text when our way to say we could get in early so were able to go direct from the station when we arrived. The Appartment was beautiful and had everything we needed with a generous welcome pack full of local goodies to try :) comfortable, cosy and in a perfect location on a quiet street tucked away but close to the city and beautiful gardens. We will defiantly be back to York and the grand will be our fist choice for our stay *****

Lovely property

We really enjoyed a 4 night stay here, the apartment was elegantly furnished with lots of nice touches. Easy to walk in to the centre of York and parking nearby. The only negative was that the apartment didn't feel particularly warm, I guess being an older property.

Excellent location. Good space well decorated and clean. However noise From floor above late at night and early morning was disturbing and the heating was inadequate for the property in the cold conditions we encountered during our stay. Greater instruction on recycling bins would have been helpful

Good location, nice decor

Excellent communication, Fantastic location in York. Very quiet but also near to the Minster and the pretty side of York. Nice decor. Tasty snacks and drinks provided in a hamper. Extremely minor points, perhaps expresso rather than filter coffee would be good in the hamper to match the coffee maker provided and some cleaning spray and cloths for wiping up would be nice. We really enjoyed stay.

Great location for exploring York City Center

Loved this property. Had some issues with the programmed thermostat. The owner of the unit actually came over to address it in minutes. Safe and secure neighborhood and building. A saintsberry (spelling?) close by to pick up groceries. Pubs nearby. Will stay here again.

Second stay here

This was my second stay in Duke's townhouse. I love the building and the location. Always v clean with a great welcome pack. The only thing that bothered me this time as that I was in the Grand and not the one at the top, and because there are no carpets in the bedrooms I did get quite disturbed by people upstairs coming in late when I was trying to sleep Saturday night. I'm not sure the windows are double glazed and a car left both mornings at 7am and sounded quite loud. But I would definitely stay again is I could either go in the basement or at the top!

An Apartment where design and style was chosen over practicality and comfort

The apartment was exactly like the photos on the website. However although it looked very presentable it was in no respect cosy and welcoming. This was primarily because the floors were all wood with the exception of a small rug in the lounge area. It was also apparent that the floors of the apartment above were not carpeted because the sound of people walking around was quite significant. When the blinds at the windows were open during the day there was no feeling of privacy which was particularly evident in the bedroom. The shower in the bathroom worked very well but the gap at the bottom of the glass screen allowed water to run directly on to rest of the bathroom floor. The bathroom sink and stand looked good but the lack of surface to put things down made it difficult to use as did the wobbly tap. The bedroom was sparsely furnished yet there was nowhere to place a suitcase other than on the floor. When staying in this apartment for a few nights these problems are worth putting up with because of its location close to the centre of York.

WOW, WOW, WOW!!

Amazing apartment, so comfortable and incredibly stylish. We loved the thoughtful touches and the decor! It is lovely and quiet whilst being really close to all the sights and the bed was amazing! One of the best apartments we’ve stayed in and would highly recommend stay in The Grand.

The apartment certainly lived up to its name! In a fabulous location, close enough to everything yet just far enough to be in a very quiet location. The apartment was furnished and finished to an extremely high standard, with not one thing being forgotten, with a few extras supplied - including a decorated and lit Christmas tree! We are already looking forward to our return.

We really enjoyed our time at dukes townhouse. Beautiful well equipped kitchen, lovely decor Wonderful power shower. Comfortable sofa. We would highly recommend this property. The only slight niggle was that the townhouse didn’t have a parking space and it was a long walk from the car park

Stunning

We absolutely loved staying at The Grand at Dukes Town House. It is so stylish, comfortable and well planned. From the crisp white sheets to the opulent bathroom, the clean lines of the kitchen and the panelling, it was relaxing and luxurious. A great advantage was the parking at Marygate car park close by and a short stroll to york centre. Fabulous location and place.
