We had an amazing time staying in this beach house in Capitola. The convenience of the location is unmatched! Not only is it right on the beach but it’s one of the closest of the homes to the creek that is closed off from the ocean during the summer which made it an even more ideal place for our young kids to play. I booked this spot for me, my husband, our two young kiddos (1 and 3 years old), and my mom. My mom stayed on the pull out couch in the living room and said it was comfortable enough. The noise from the outside does make its way into the living room a fair amount and with the location there is just a lot of natural noise - people walking by, live music at the restaurants, people partying on the beach, etc. wouldn’t be a problem for most folks but with young kids we ended up in bed by 9pm every night. That said the bedroom was surprisingly quiet even when the evening was in full swing. We did have to keep all of the windows closed to keep the sound down though and it made the place a bit hot at night, we stayed in October and it was only in the 70s during the day so I imagine it can be super hot and necessary to keep the windows open in the heat of the summer. The bedroom is great for a family of four but keep in mind that the top bunk’s bed rail is the same height at the mattress so if you have a younger kiddo you might not feel safe having them up there. Overall we’d definitely stay here again if we could budget for it, the cost was more than we’d usually spend.
