Family Friendly oceanfront complex with pool!

Hodnett Cooper Vacation Rentals is pleased to offer this two-bedroom, two-bath oceanfront residence at Shipwatch.

The Shipwatch community is located oceanfront on St. Simons Island on a desirable stretch of beach between Massengale Park and the historic Coast Guard Station. Shipwatch has been a favorite family destination for many years. And with just 52 residences, Shipwatch is a quiet community for weekend getaways or a comfortable snowbird destination during coastal Georgia’s mild winter months.

Community amenities include a private boardwalk access to the beach, swimming pool, large grass lawn, outdoor grill and complimentary in-room high speed internet service.

Each vacation rental residence features two bedrooms, two full baths, a combined living, dining, and kitchen area and a private balcony. Shipwatch 214 is located on the second floor above parking, and is beautifully furnished in bright, beachy décor with updated kitchen and bathrooms and tile floors throughout.

This community is located directly on the ocean, individual residences, unless otherwise specified, do not offer ocean views.

Beach Gear Credit Now Included Hodnett Cooper has partnered with VayK Gear, a beach delivery service provider to offer beach gear rentals to Hodnett Cooper guests in participating properties. Confirm a new reservation with Hodnett Cooper Vacation Rentals at a participating property with length of stay between 2 – 14 nights, arriving March thru October, and receive a daily credit from VayK Gear towards beach gear rentals during the stay! Property was immaculate and seemed to be recently updated. Onsite property manager was exceptional. No issues. At check in however we were told only one parking pass allowed per unit — Our unit slept 7-8. Silliness, not sure if 7-8 people travel in one car much to go on vacation. Also it states plainly in the check in documentation given that each unit was allowed 2 parking passes. So we had to go request an extra pass from the property managers.

Anniversary weekend

Had a great time on the island. Our stay was great and the Accommodation very clean and cozy. I would recommend this place to any couple looking to get away. The condo is a little small for a full family, but you could make it work. Easy access to the beach.

Confusing check in

When I first booked the property, I emailed Hodnett to get clarification on the check in process since another review said it was confusing. They told me it was all contactless. Two weeks before going I got an email that we had to go to the office by the gate and provide photo ID, copy of credit card, and a list of guests checking in. I called about whether there was a key or not and was told that it was a key to get in. When we got there, there was just a code.

Great property

We loved the property - the condo, the pool, and the grill/lawn area. We had issues with checking in. We could not locate the property with GPS and never got the emails giving us the access code. It took several attempts to reach someone on the phone. The unit and property were great. The check in procedure was extremely difficult.

Family vacation

We had a great time, but had very noisy neighbors above us, so the quietness we wanted did not happen. The property was clean and was in a great location, but would of enjoyed a better view of the beach from our patio. .

St. Simons Get-Away

The unit was very clean although the kitchen was lacking some baking items and had to ask for a bottle/can opener. There was a knocking sound in the water pipes that could be frustrating right before bedtime. The property management group did not give us the unit entry code until the day of arrival. I should not have had to call the manager late in the day to get that information.

Great location

Condo is in a great location, w beach access plus 2 blocks from the marsh to see lots of birds. You can even walk to a couple restaurants, shops and bike rental. Only 1.5 mi from Pier Village. Very clean and well stocked with more than the listing showed, eg it had beach towels, laundry detergent, more than a "starter roll" of TP, games and puzzles. Tastefully decorated. Comfy bed. It is rather noisy though. You can hear every sound from the unit above. Also dogs barking and one whiner.

Great place for a peaceful visit

This condo is in an excellent location near village and lots of restaurants. Easy walk to beach. Updated and nicely furnished with everything you need. Quiet. We have booked again.

Fall Break Getaway

Great access to the beach! Awesome walk to the pier each night! Moo Cow ice cream is amazing! Condo was very clean! Great place to stay! Loved that it was gated and felt very safe. If the condos were full, it was hard to tell because it was always so quiet! Was able to get a parking pass for a day for a friend to visit.

Saint Simons Island was beautiful.

The condo was in a great location. With only a short walk to the beach. Owners of some of the condos were there and they were very nice. The condo was clean and in great condition we would definitely stay there again.

Fun Weekend

Everything was perfect! The only complaint was the road construction and having to take a detour. I understand road work has nothing to do with the facility, but felt that info should have been relayed to me prior to check in.

Nice getaway

The condo was as described. Nice size bedrooms. The walk to the beach was longer than expected but the beach was wonderful and not overcrowded. No beach view but the condo was quiet. The parking was much better than some others. The management was helpful and accommodating.

Great location. Great condo.

Took the family to the beach for a few days. Very clean and short walk to the beach. Updated condo had everything we needed. However, this is a middle unit and you could hear the upstairs floor neighbors and the bottom neighbors could hear us. So, a bit noisy. Overall, it was a nice vacation.
