Across From the Beach! (ECL)

This classic home located on the South end of the island is a perfect getaway for a small family or two couples (Eagle Cove Lookout)

Guests will find themselves just minutes from a few of the most gorgeous beaches San Juan Island has to offer. Directly across the street from this home is the local-favored 'Eagle Cove' beach. A short hike down the beautiful forest trail will lead to an open, sandy beach perfect for sunbathing, beach games, and tidepool exploring.

Other beautiful beaches adjacent to this area include South Beach, Jackle's Lagoon and Third Lagoon, 4th of July Beach, or the Cape San Juan Lighthouse Beach. All are located within a 5-minute drive of this home.

Downtown Friday Harbor is a 15-minute drive from this location.

The open concept of the living room is a great place for the family to enjoy a movie on the Smart TV or play one of the many board games the home offers. The feeling of being at your grandma's house is all around with the retro kitchen and wood panel ceiling. The nostalgia is felt in epic proportions. Comfortable, cozy and a great home to play game and be with family.

The kitchen is fully stocked with all the supplies needed to make a great meal together. The kitchen has a collection of small appliances to make meal prep even easier during your relaxing vacation. This home is equipped with a standard, drip-style coffee maker. Enjoy the outdoor propane BBQ while grilling and playing in the spacious yard.

The primary king bedroom boast many books and an outdoor deck, along with a propane fireplace for chillier San Juan evenings.

The queen bedroom offers a desk and spacious closet.

The living room couch is also a modern convertible bed, perfect for kids to stretch out on.

The bathroom offers a large, jetted tub, dual sinks, as well as a standup shower.

Come and relax on the South end of San Juan! Eagle Cove Lookout is the cozy, nostalgic, beach house of your San Juan Island vacation dreams!

The internet / Wi-fi at this home is a fiber-optic internet connection and should be sufficient for streaming video, phone calls, remote work and video conferencing.

We really enjoyed the spacious clean house. The bathroom is like a spa with a shower & very large tub with jets. It has a well stocked kitchen, soft beds with a washer & dryer. Draw back for me was, not very many curtains. The ones they had did not provide privacy.

awesome place in magnificent location

The place is comfortable and modestly furnished without clutter. The deck at the front is a great place to read and relax. I would definitely go back to this unit again.

The house was eclectic, close to nature and a sit down dinner. Saw my first bald eagle (53 year wait). The San Juans were beautiful.

Great location, needs updating

Excellent location and very quiet. The house has not been updated at all and is straight out of the early 80s. Persistent smell of mothballs. Terrible pots/pans considering the price per night. We won’t be returning to this house but definitely will return to the beach.

Would be nice to have a 2nd footstool in living room. 2nd bedroom blinds need repair. Master bedroom would benefit from blinds or black out curtains. Bathroom faucets turn in different directions. Would be nice to have a couple of folding chairs. A deeper cleaning of dust/dirt on surfaces and under furniture is needed.

Perfect location for a family

We were able to quickly drive to a number of different beaches to launch our kayaks, hike, or just hang out on the beach. We enjoyed it so much more than staying in the congested Friday Harbor area, although, Friday Harbor is a wonderful place to visit, shop, dine, and watch people. The house was well equipped, clean, and comfortable, and we especially enjoyed our frequent visits from different foxes.

Summery 2024 Stay

Nice and quiet location, but very old bathroom/shower

The house was clean and spacious, with everything you need inside - kitchen fully equipped with a lot of utensils, outdoor patio table and chairs, not issues with the running hot water. The bad: (1) the shower leaks water outside, and it is not very comfortable to use and (2) there is not propane grill, only a charcoal grill, and with the fire restrictions on the island you cannot grill! Also AT&T and T-Mobile signal is on and off around the property area, but there is internet (which was down for one day) and a smart TV easy to use.

Nice but dated

It’s a nice place, quiet and lovely area. Well equipped kitchen to make dinners etc. Beds are comfortable. The hosts even let our small (crated) dog come with us last minute as our dog sitter got sick. The beach across the way is amazing!! The musty smell is unwelcome for allergy sufferers. We had an issue with a fire alarm going off and that could be remedied by changing batteries more often, since it’s a vrbo. The handle in the shower is a rusted wrench that makes it seem the vrbo is not well maintained. Lastly, the ratings are deceptively high, there is the same 4 star rating listed over and over when this listing is a 2 star hotel at best.

The windows in the bedroom only had sheer curtains on them and you could see in so I put towels over them. I think this house is in need of a lot of updating. It has a wonderful location and view. Just a little too old and not very cozy or comfortable.

The home was very clean, ( aside from the windows) nice towel/linens, kitchenware needed updating but appliance options good. Heating was good. Spacious seating in living room. The Island struggles with hard water...leaving the coffee maker to fail but the property mtg came with a new pot in less than 39 mins of our call to them! Nice! One large Bedroom has a king bed and large sitting area. A second bedroom is small and has a queen bed. Tight fit. I would recommend 2 twin xl beds to serve together as a king or separately for 2 adults not partners. Overall it’s a quiet, peaceful location close to the beach, a lovely trails for lots of views a scenic opportunity.

We also enjoyed the fireplaces, walk around porch and huge yard. Walks down to the beach were an easy out the door adventure. Playing in the sand and searching for treasure among the rocks & driftwood kept our young boys entertained for hours.We were so glad we brought our bikes, the National Park is right around the corner and that was our favorite day trip of many. You can ride from the house to the park and then take a hike with amazing views from there, super fun, pack a picnic.We'll keep this house on our short list of places to return for sure. Thanks!

The bathroom is huge, so wasn't an issue to share with 4 people. Easy walk to Eagle cove and to get to American camp trails and South Beach.
