Come Enjoy South Nags Head!!
We have completed a complete kitchen, dining room, bed room and living space remodel along with flooring, fresh paint, & new furniture pieces. It's Ready to be enjoyed!!

Our 4br/ 3bath reverse floor plan home is steps away from the beach access. There are 2 Master Suites in the home. Accommodating 10, there are several common areas where the group can split up and enjoy. Tennis and pickle ball courts are behind the house and the private South Creek Acres community pool is a short walk away. The family room, game room and 3 of the bedrooms have their own TVs with Roku sticks.

We added a brand new 6 person hot tub in June 2022 to be enjoyed. There are overhead string lights to accent the area and Bluetooth speakers for playing your favorite songs. There is a game room with foosball, TV and plenty of games. There is a Wii with plenty of games to also keep the kids occupied in the twin bedroom.

We are an easy walk to Fish Heads where we love to grab lunch and dinner, plus listen to live bands. It is such a great hangout spot overlooking the ocean. If you are a fisherman, there is a bait shop and the fishing pier as well.

The backyard is a wonderful family gathering area with a double sided charcoal grill and 2 picnic tables. Gather around the fire pit for some s’mores and family fun, or play some cornhole with the provided boards.

The entry level has an outdoor shower for getting the sand off after your visit the beach. We offer body boards and beach chairs for you to use, plus a few bikes as well.

We want you and your family to feel like this is your home away from home. There is a security camera above the Front Door focused on the drive way and a security camera above the Car Port Door.

Wonderful Vacation

This beach house was amazing, clean and organized and enough room for our 2 families (4 adults 4 teenagers). Location is great, close to the beach but tucked away from the busy main roads and stores. The owners were quick to respond to any of our questions and great to deal with.

Cute Comfy Cottage

This OBX cottage is perfect for a family get away. It was so cute, very clean, super organized, had really comfy furniture including beds, and a great location. Loved the tennis court and pool membership also as we had a red flag day. The hosts were great, so responsive! This is one of the best cottages we have found in OBX and will definitely return.

Awesome House, Walk to beach and Amazing Sunsets

House was newly furnished beautifully, was super clean (which is very important to us) and had everything we needed! Location was great, walk to beach, and from the rear of the home there was a sitting room with big windows to watch the sunset! Great fire pit in the rear yard and jacuzzi which was perfect. Would stay again if we visit that area with out hesitation. Lastly the hosts were very responsive from the minute we booked the home until we left. 5 star experience!

24’ family vacation

Our experience at OUAT was great. Kris was super responsive and gave great information about the property. Check in was seamless and we were lucky to get in early. The house was really clean upon arrival. Everything about the house exceeded expectations. We really loved the main living floor. The kitchen was stocked with everything you would ever need. The views off of the back deck were amazing and our children loved watching the birds and the deer! We would absolutely recommend anyone stay here and we would definitely stay again.

Great group house for gathering friends

Great process from start to finish. House has great space and a nice big table for dinners. Views over the sound and sunset are gorgeous. Front and back decks give lots of choices for chilling out. Unique rope swing was sweet. Nice supply of towels. So helpful to have linens supplied. Outside shower is nice and spacious and clean. We need to come back to try the fire pit ! Really enjoyed this stay! Right across from the Jacobs beach entrance. Owners were very responsive.

All together lovely stay!

We loved our stay at Once Upon a Time! We had two families with 6 kids all together. The kids really enjoyed the games and the beach toys while the adults took advantage of all the cozy places to drink coffee and enjoy the views. Great proximity to the beach! There were so many little things that made our vacation so easy. The outdoor shower and little hose next to the downstairs door to help you wash the sand off were especially helpful. Communication with the hosts was quick and easy. If we had any questions Kris was replied within a short time. Highly recommend staying at Once Upon a Time!

Love!!!

The location of this house was phenomenal!! We enjoyed being just steps from the beach, with an easy access at Jacobs Street! The house itself was exactly what we needed. The views, though just partial beach views, and full sound views, were everything we needed for peace and serenity on this leg of our journey! There were 6 of us, 4 teens, 2 adults. We enjoyed the body boards and beach chairs (SOOOO thankful for those so we didn't have to pack them on our lllloooonnnngggg roadtrip!!) We loved playing the games provided. The children loved the TV services and wifi, of course! Overall, if I am ever able to return to the OBX, I will definitely look for this same property!!!

Our vacation was family oriented & included 3 generations. The house was as pictured. We found everything in the home that we needed. The owners responded to all of my questions immediately. Check in process was easy & well described. While we did not get to use the pool or the tennis courts, they were within a short distance from the house. The beach access was within walking distance. The beach was fabulous. The house was just off the main beach road & allowed for walking, running & biking without having to use the main road or bike/walk pathway. Many people do use the bike path but I found it just as nice to use the road where the house is located. The sunset viewed from the sun room in the back of the house was beautiful & amazing everyday. The front porch was used everyday! Everyone loved the swinging bed? The house was clean, decorated nicely, appliances worked without incident. Alexa & TV worked well. The hot tub was nice & enjoyed by the teenagers and young adults. Having beach toys, umbrellas & beach chairs available was a nice addition & especially appreciated not having to bring them on the trip. The outdoor shower was large and well used. The outlet mall, Food Lion, thrift stores, mini golf, ice cream shops, beach stores, go carts are within close distance as well as a large YMCA if you want to continue an exercise program while on vacation. We went to Pirates Cove to see the BIG boats. Happened to be there for a big fishing tournament. Home is outstanding!

Perfect beach home

I really struggled to find a home that my selective and picky family would enjoy and feel at home. This one met everyone’s expectations and then some, which is saying a lot with 3 teenagers. The home is beautifully updated and furnished and just as pictured. It is centrally located in the OBX, making it easier to be adventurous if you want to see it all like we did. Loved that there were 2 master bedrooms with their own bath. If, you want to know which master is better, select the main level one with all the other bedrooms with the king size bed. The home is well stocked with everything in the kitchen we needed, a nice toaster oven that we used quite a bit, dish soap and dishwasher soap which was an added bonus. We drove 22 hours to get there and so nice not to have to run out right away to get supplies. The screened in room with the swing bed is awesome. The bikes were added fun. If you are struggling between which rental home like I was, you won’t go wrong staying here. Thank you for sharing your home!

Best OBX vacation yet!

10 out of 10 for this rental. From the getgo communication with the owners was fantastic. Any questions I had were answered promptly and in great detail. This house is in an excellent location, its CLEAN and is beautifully decorated. We took advantage of the fooseball table,board games ,hot tub, the enclosed porch swing and all of the beach gear . The kitchen is fully stocked . We really couldn't have asked for anything better. This felt like home. The short walk to the beach was amazing . The outdoor shower was definitely a big plus for our boys after boogie boarding multiple days. It was a short walk to the community pool ..and the canal right beside the pool is filled with turtles. We visited 3 times with lettuce to feed them. It is also a short drive to any restaurant ,ice cream,shopping and mini golf .But the views from all the decks were my favorite part. We watched the sunrise every morning with a short walk across the road or right from the front deck..and watched the sunset every evening from the back deck . It was amazing. We look forward to being able to return in the future and is beautifullydecorated.,and has

We were very pleased with this rental for our vacation. The home is amazing; lots of indoor and outdoor spaces to enjoy the views (sunrise and sunset are both spectacular!) extremely comfortable and homey, and equipped well! The beach access across the street was convenient and easy and the information given by the host upon booking was everything we needed to know about the house and area. The host is also extremely prompt with messaging and checking in, and went the extra mile to make sure we had a great experience. We will definitely be back!

The owners went above and beyond to accommodate our needs. They have thought of everything you might need for vacation and then some. Even though it was chilly out there was still plenty to do at the house for 2 teenagers to do.

Perfect getaway

We were in town only for a few days for a family wedding. The cottage was exactly as described. The kitchen was well stocked. The beds were comfortable. The sunset view was outstanding. The hot tub was an added bonus. All in all, it was perfect for our needs.

A Great Family Week

Everything as advertised. House was large enough for my family - two sons with their spouses and my toddler grandchild. Kitchen was well stocked with all necessities. Sunset and sunrise views from back and front decks were great. I loved bird watching from back deck- the natural area was teaming with finches. Special call out to the lovely and very clean hot tub.

Perfect House for a Family Beach Vacation

If I could give 6 stars I would! Great property on a nice section of Nags Head beach. The hosts were extremely professional and responsive, and even gave us a $25 gift card to Duck Donuts. The house with the hot tub and fire pit was perfect for our family of 3 young kids. Everything was clean, decorations were on point for a beach house, and the quiet street was nice as a parent to not have to worry about traffic. We've stayed in a lot of VRBO's and we would highly recommend this one.

Absolutely wonderful!

We had an amazing stay at Once Upon A Time! The house was perfect - clean, comfortable, and literally steps to the beach. The house (and kitchen) was well equipped with everything we needed for our stay. We especially loved the beach toys and bikes that were provided. The porch bed swing was oh so comfortable and perfect for an afternoon nap! The owners are very responsive to questions and really go above and beyond to make their guests feel welcome.

We have 3 wonderful daughters and our pets, Marvel and Memphis. We started our hosting adventure a few years ago and have really loved it. It's a unique chance to meet and interact with people from around the nation and world.

We love sharing our homes so that others can visit and experience the beautiful shores of North Carolina. In both places, we have tried to create a cozy environment where you will feel welcome and 'at-home' during your stay, and is ideal for enjoying the company of friends and family.

When we are not in NC, we are hopefully traveling the world, but most of the time, we are enjoying our regular Friday Family Movie Nights, playing board games, hanging out with our beloved family and friends and experiencing other adventures in the Tri-State area.

Por qué escogió este alojamiento

We love the Outer Banks, and fell in love with South Nags Head. The area is quiet but super close to everything if we want to shop, mini-golf, take in historic site, etc. There are miles of wide sidewalks for biking, skate boarding and walks.

Once we were on the decks and could see the ocean and then went to the back decks to see the endless views of the Sound, we knew we had found our dream beach house. The home has everything we could have ever wanted on the inside and then to be able to walk out the door and be on the sand in less then 100 feet, we could not have dreamed of anything better.

Qué hace que este alojamiento sea especial

There are few homes that have ocean views plus the beauty of the sound off their back decks. The national sea shore with all its beauty and wildlife is our back yard. When you are drinking your morning coffee and look through those 2 huge windows out the back, you just feel like you are in heaven. Plus we are right across the street from the beach access, so very Easy access to the beach.
