My immediate family, my parents, and my sister's family made our first ever trip to Lake Michigan! There were 12 of us total with 7 kids, ages 6-16. The house was the most perfect fit for them, especially! The kids had the entire 3rd floor to themselves and loved it! We enjoyed the private beach too and just the quietness of the little neighborhood. It really was the most perfect family getaway!

Amazing getaway house

The house is exactly as described and just stunning! The house was clean, spacious, and meant to host a crowd. The proximity to the beach was an amazing perk. As expected for the area, there are a large number of stairs to the beach, but sturdy and well maintained. We opted for backpack-style coolers and that was a lifesaver. The beach was clean and people were respectful. Ample seating, enough bathrooms, and plenty of hot water for 11 people to shower comfortably. The hosts were extremely communicative and prompt with responses. If you are getting together with family or friends, look no further than this house!

Excellent beach, very spacious

Enjoy the place for a great weekends with friends. Has plenty of room for 12 adults. Right next to beach access.

Had a lovely Lake Michigan vacation

Great location. Lots of flexibility with sleeping arrangements given the span of ages of the kids. Proximity to the beach was perfect. We appreciated there being large inflatable toys for the kids to play with at the beach. No outdoor shower available which made the sand more of a challenge. Otherwise we had a very nice experience.

I would have given this property a 4 star if the property owner (the husband) had not cancelled my reservation 31 days prior to my stay just to tell me I could rebook at almost double the price. I booked 11 months in advance to stay there for my daughter's wedding, so I was not flexible with my dates and was stuck. The other owner (the wife) was kind and worked out a deal with me at a partial increase and she was pleasant to work with. (still more than I originally planned on) The location was nice, the trip up and down the stairs to the water did not bother us , but one would want to be in decent shape. Other issues we had was with the air conditioner on the 2nd and 3rd floor at night was a little warmer than we were use to, the door on the second floor bathroom didn't close all the way and first floor door issues. We would have liked for one or two of the rooms on the second floor to be king beds instead of all queens for the price. We all did enjoy our stay there.

Destination Wedding turned into a vaca

There is so much room here. Everything you need is here. The 150 steps down to the private beach sure gave me some exercise but after 3 days I was conditioned. 3 floors Very clean Had a few issues at check in. Minor but resolved. Highly recommend if you’re looking for a place with a private beach with a large group to stay that is spacious

Great time with family. Plenty of room for everyone. Stairs to the beach were a challenge, but they didn't hold us back from enjoying beach time. We even had family pictures taken on the beach

40th birthday getaway

I rented this house for a friends 40th birthday weekend getaway. It is in a perfect location. The beach is a few (stairs) steps away. It is clean, quiet, peaceful. We really enjoyed ourselves

We have been vacationing in the St. Joe/South Haven MI area our whole lives and finally purchased our dream Lakehouse on Lake Michigan between the two cities. We enjoy sharing our home with other families that can appreciate the beauty of Lake Michigan and all the fun on the "3rd Coast" throughout the different seasons.

This is a 3000 Square Foot Home which is new with a beautiful Lake view for Sunsets and "Moonsets" if you're lucky enough to catch one! We are close to all the vineyards for some fun wine tasting and of course Blueberries at our sister property Black River Manor.
