“The Gumbo Limbo’s Dreaded Grape” – the latest addition to The Gumbo Limbo property!

The Dreaded Grape used to be a cozy wine bar on Caye Caulker that has been moved to The Gumbo Limbo property and converted into a vacation rental. The freestanding cabin still has all the charm of a wine bar that includes the beautiful rosewood bar that now serves as part of the kitchenette. A private covered porch with a decorated wine rack provides the shade you need to enjoy the cabin’s garden-view.
This great little self-contained cabin is only a short walk from the village, yet far enough away to enjoy real peace and quiet.

The Dreaded Grape offers a semi-secluded accommodation experience and comes with owners dedicated to ensuring your stay is comfortable.
Ideal for 1 or 2 people seeking a tropical hideaway, the cabin is located just steps from the ocean thru a gated fence in the adjacent lot, allowing direct access to the beach.
The Dreaded Grape features a combined living / bedroom with queen bed, lounge area and kitchenette with fridge, microwave and AC. Private bath with hot and cold water. The private covered deck with table and chairs and an outdoor grill plus complimentary bikes and Wifi make this little cabin a terrific value.

There are many golf cart taxis on the island or you have complimentary bikes to ride. Also, it is only a 10 min. walk to the village.

We respect your privacy but are always available if you need something.

If you require more than one room, please check our other three rentals on the property. In addition to the Gumbo Limbo – Studio, the “Gumbo Limbo – Aria Kat Art Cabana“, the “Gumbo Limbo’s Go Slow Cabana”, and “The Gumbo Limbo Sea-Esta Studio Apartment” will provide for all the space that you need for a vacation with family and friends!

Great place to stay and relax,owner was on property and available for local information when needed. Would definitely check on availability when we return to Caye Chauker .

A wonderful couple of days in paradise.

The communication and check in process was great, as well as the property being as described and away from the main drag on front street. The 2 dogs were very friendly. Ben was incredibly responsible when there was a minor issue with the lock on the door and it was fixed and addressed faster than any hotel could be. 10/10 will be staying here next time we visit the island.

After staying at Gumbo Limbo for a week I cannot recommend it enough! Ben, Aria, and Flora were so quick to answer questions and made sure our stay was comfortable from beginning to end. Also, the property is super cute. If you’re going to Caye Caulker- stay here!!

Ben was such a great host and we felt so comfortable. The bungalow is relaxing, clean, and quiet. The bed is soft and cozy. The bikes were a major plus, as this was our preferred mode of transport. Thanks you for a great stay hope to be back again.

My fiancé and I thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Gumbo Limbo Dreaded Grapes. It was exactly what we needed for the two of us during our trip. It had a great location, was very clean, and Ben and Aria were very friendly and helpful any time we had questions. I would highly recommend to book with them!

Our stay here was fantastic! The property was clean, comfortable and cute. Communication was very good. Having free use of the bikes was a huge advantage to our stay. Information about the island provided by the owners was very helpful. I highly recommend this property for your stay.

The Dreaded Grape

Gumbo Limbo was a perfect oasis on Caye Caulker. Ben and Aria are the perfect hosts and were super helpful throughout our entire stay. With steps from the beach the location is perfect for all access to where you want to go on the island. Thank you for making our stay on the island so enjoyable, Ben and Aria!

What's not to like? Super friendly hosts, everything you need...in a quiet part of the island (which is so small that you are lucky to stay in the quiet part). We used the free bikes for all our travel round the island - walking was too hot.

I would highly recommend the Dreaded Grape! Comfortable bed, clean and cool space, a little porch to sit and chill. And Ben and Aria were incredibly helpful and gave us the whole run down of the best spots to check out. They’ve got a great set up with the honour bar, an excellent spot to get to know them better or meet other guests. We’ll definitely be returning :)

Amazing property in Caye Caulker

We loved our stay at the Dreaded Grape cabana. The photos don't do justice to the size of the property in a lovely courtyard with an honesty bar full of cold beers. It's steps away from a quiet beach and easy walking distance to the centre of Caye Caulker. Excellent air conditioning and the cabana was well equipped with coffee. The bed was very comfortable and we loved sitting out on the terrace for breakfast. Ben was a great host and gave us excellent tips to help us make the most of our stay. Highly recommended.

Hosts met us on site as we walked into the property. It was beautiful and very welcoming. The Dreaded Grape was awesome!! Perfect size for 2. AC worked great and the fresh water supply is a nice touch too. If ya don't book with Ben & Aria it's ok, cause it just leaves more open dates for a return trip for us:)))))))) Thanks again for a beautiful stay Ben & Aria. Jeff n Chayla

Wonderful little cabana!

We loved the history of the former wine bar and Ben was super helpful recommending dinner places. Our stay was short, so we didn't get to enjoy the bikes. The indoor "clothesline" was awesome since we had just returned from a 5 hour snorkel tour and had lots of wet things to dry out. It was so convenient to walk around the corner and enjoy a beautiful sunrise on the beach. Ben helped us get a golf cart taxi since we were having phone issues. Would have loved to enjoy this peaceful property - and the friendly dogs - a few more days.

40th Birthday Getaway

The Gumbo Limbo property is situated in a perfect quiet part of the island steps from the beach at the anchorage beach dock. The converted wine bar is a quirky and cute cabana perfect for a couples getaway. Everything was clean and the property manager Flor was super attentive to our needs. The free use of the bikes made getting around the island easy. Air conditioning and fans worked perfectly and WiFi was great for making calls and streaming at night. Cannot wait to come back again to Caye Caulker and hope it won’t be as long to make it back as the last time. Ben/Aria were extremely responsive to our messages especially when dealing with a delayed arrival.

We will make your stay as amazing as we can!

We live on the Gumbo Limbo Property and we can either be available for a cocktail and a chat, or you will hardly see us at all – up to your preference.

However, we will always be available for questions and to attend to your needs.

We have 2 dogs on the property. A 7-year old Old English Sheepdog mix named Shadow (aka Fuzzy Butt), and Tito (aka "Dumbo Limbo") our 4-months old "Belizean Potlicker". If you like dogs, you will love those two fuzzies!

The Gumbo Limbo is in the perfect location on the island. Not far from the hustle and bustle of the village, yet far enough to enjoy peace and quiet and only steps from the ocean.
