Renovated, lakeside penthouse at Bernard's Landing with sweeping, top-floor views of the lake and Smith Mountain. Enjoy beautiful sunrises from the living room and deck in every season. The penthouse is steps from the lake and includes access to all Bernard's Landing resort amenities, including a YEAR-ROUND INDOOR POOL AND HOT TUB, seasonally-open outdoor pools, a beach, fitness room, tennis/pickleball courts, and more. Overnight dock slip/trailer options convenient and available for a small fee paid to Bernard's Landing. On-site boat rentals available in the high season; nearby rentals available off-season (Bridgewater Marina). The unit itself is spacious with high ceilings, an updated but comfortable feel, and a fully equipped kitchen with granite countertops and stainless steel appliances. Equally ideal for a family vacation, romantic getaway, luxurious retreat with friends, boating/fishing adventure, WFH respite, or any other occasion to enjoy nature and beautiful scenery in one of the best spots on Smith Mountain Lake.

What a perfect location for an event at Bernard’s Landing! We stayed with the whole family for my wedding! The views are beautiful and May was a wonderful and flexible host. The bedrooms were incredibly comfortable and modern bathrooms were very much appreciated by my family.

View from balcony is beautiful. Perfect location to pool and marina for boat rental. Quiet area with lots of wildlife on the property.

This is our second year staying at this specific property and we loved our accommodations. Condo is cute, clean and stocked with all the essentials. Owner is super accommodating and responsive. Perfect Family Vacation Spot

Condo was well stocked, clean, and had a beautiful view. We were very happy with our accommodations and will definitely be coming back! Highly recommend for people with children that love water activities. Loved that the home was close to everything and we slept so well!

Great Lake access!

Very clean! Super convenient if you are planning on using the lake. About an hour from Liberty University. We stayed here while attending LU’s graduation. Perfect for our family of 6! We brought our boat. The resort had everything we needed to make our time at the lake memorable! We would definitely stay here again!

Great views and location!

First off, kudos to the owner who helped us out greatly when we needed to extend our stay 4 days. Condo was well appointed with a great view. We stayed about a month and it was a lot of fun getting to know the area and the locals.

Excellent Stay!

We stayed at Bernard's Landing in this penthouse condo. Three-bedroom condo was spacious, clean and well equipped for our long weekend. Condo is well decorated, and view is amazing, very much enjoyed the outdoor patio! Alex was a great host, very attentive to any questions we had. Would definitely stay here again!

Holiday stay

We had a wonderful stay!! The place was clean and had everything we needed. Lovely deck overlooking the lake and we had great weather for December so we were able to enjoy it. Would love to visit in the summer to enjoy the pool that is so close!

Perfect Lakeside Getaway!

This is an absolutely magnificent vacation spot and a great place to stay. The lofted master suite lends a lot of character. The lake + mountain view from the living room and deck is as relaxing as any I've experienced. Interior is spotless and modern, wifi is fast, and all appliances worked perfectly. Will return next time we visit Smith Mountain Lake.

Perfect getaway for family

Very comfortable, thoughtfully administered, A+ experience. We visited in October and enjoyed every aspect of the resort. We went boating, swam in the indoor pool, used the rec center, and played at the beach. We will be back for sure, as it was a great time away for our family. Thanks again, Alex & crew!

Amazing space

This was my second time at Bernard's Landing and this was amazing! The space was clean, orderly, and gave everyone room to spread out. We LOVED the loft and the deck! The host was quick to communicate and help with anything we needed. We will be booking here again!

Best Mini Vacation

We stayed for a long weekend in this condo and it was the best mini vacation. We loved the condo. It was beautiful, spacious and well stocked. We would love to stay here again sometime. The location to the pool and dock was perfect. We enjoyed swimming, boating, tubing, and fishing. We also loved sitting on the balcony every morning with our coffee watching the sunrise. We will definitely repeat this vacation!

My wife Annemarie and I live with our son Ian full-time in Chapel Hill, NC. Annemarie and I are both University of Michigan and UNC-Chapel Hill alums. We work in higher education and pediatric nursing, respectively. We have happy memories visiting lakes with our families as kids and feel fortunate for the chance to make new lake memories in the paradise that is Smith Mountain Lake. We are also excited about helping our guests have happy, comfortable, and memorable vacations at Bernard's Landing.

Por qué escogió este alojamiento

We regret that we only recently discovered Smith Mountain Lake while looking for a quick getaway in the summer of 2020. After we rented a place and boat for a weekend, we inevitably found ourselves on realtor.com in subsequent weeks. When we walked into the condo and took in the view of Smith Mountain and the lake, we knew we found the right place. We spent about six months giving the place some TLC. At the end of the renovation process, we couldn't be happier with the beautiful condo we now have for our family and to share with guests.

Qué hace que este alojamiento sea especial

The view, the lake, the pool below, the natural beauty of the area, and all of the resort amenities made this condo a perfect choice for us. You can boat, swim, fish, kayak, relax by the pool, sit on the beach, walk the grounds, run or bike, play tennis or pickleball, or just take in the views from anywhere on the resort while catching up with family. With the on-site restaurant Napoli by the Lake, the Bernie Store for shopping and odds and ends, and the close proximity to Westlake Corner, it's pretty much all here. There's not a spot on the lake quite like Bernard's Landing, and this condo has one of the best viewpoints. And we enjoy going year-round; our son especially loves the indoor pool and hot tub in the off-season.
