My wife and I stayed here for our honeymoon. The cottage is just as advertised— a beautiful location on the quiet side of the island. Oleg was an excellent host who ensured we had all info necessary to begin our stay. As seen in prior reviews, a jeep rental is absolutely necessary as the mountainous roads in St. John are no joke. The cottage is only about 10 minutes from Cruz Bay and 15 from the National Park. It truly is a great location and I could not recommend more. The island is gorgeous. Be sure to rent snorkels for the incredible reefs at the beaches, and stop by the pull overs on the national park road at sunset for a truly unbelievable view. Morgan’s mango, the Lime inn, and Windmill Bar at sunset are great dinner options!

We loved our stay at their house and our own private cottage! The view is wonderful and the hot tub was fairly private with beautiful surroundings. Something which should be noted is that a four Wheel drive vehicle is nearly required for this place. Communication was a slight issue while we were there. The bug zapper was much appreciated!

A Tremendous Hosts & Gorgeous View**

The hosts were absolutely phenomenal. They went above and beyond to ensure our stay was everything we hoped it would be and more. The location was perfect… off the beaten path. The views were breathtaking. Looking forward to coming back.

Great place

Great place. Responsive owners who live next door. Ample space for 2 people. Nice outdoor area including deck with a great view and a hot tub. Clean, everything needed for cooking, chairs and cooler. Only thing I'll say, which is a St John thing overall, have a 2 door jeep. Very least have ground clearance, 4x4 would be preferable. You won't get around this island and up and down this driveway without it. It's worth it though. Have fun!

We thoroughly enjoyed our cottage with a great view over Fish Bay. Quiet and peaceful excellent communications with hosts on where to go, beaches, and beach chairs, towels etc for our use. Recommended Cloud9 sailing for a fantastic sailing day around outer islands and a couple of snorkeling stops

Home away from home

Zlata and Oleg have a great homey place with an amaizing view of Fish Bay. Nice and quiet side of the island. The hot tub was a great way to spend an afternoon as well.We will definately stay here again on our next trip.

Wonderful Cottage

Ayiti Cottage is a wonderful tropical experience with 5 star accommodations. It was nice and clean with a comfortable bed. We had everything we needed for the beach and at the cottage. We enjoyed the beautiful views.Zlata & Oleg are excellent hosts and communication was excellent.

Nice place to stay in St. John

We had a great stay at this place and appreciated the king size bed. Its a quick drive to Cruz Bay and many beautiful beaches and snorkeling. The place is well stocked with beach gear (beach chairs, cooler, floaties) too :)

Great Holiday Break

The cottage was just terrific! The location was, for us, a great place to explore all of St John during our stay. While just a short drive from Cruz Bay, the location allows access to the East End, Coral Bay, and the north shore as well. A car is a must, but getting around the island is quite easy - just watch those curves!The thoughtful touches in the cottage really stood out. From the beach chairs, cooler, floating lounges and noodles provided, to the quality of the kitchen supplies, dishes and cutlery; everything was above what might be expected. The views are stunning over Fish Bay - a true tropical getaway that rewards you with an outstanding experience.Our hosts were always available, kind and courteous. We could not have felt more comfortable and "at home" anywhere else.We highly recommend anyone looking for a relaxing getaway on St John to book this cottage. Clearly a 10/10 experience!

Perfect place

This place was perfect for my husband and me! From the sunrise views in the hammock chair with a cup of coffee to the night caps in the hot tub. We were able to make this our home base for everything we wanted to do on the island. We cooked several meals in the cottage and had everything we needed. Simple, clean, minimalist without feeling like you’re missing anything. It was exactly what we needed. It was a little difficult to find for the first time so make sure you get good directions before your day of arrival, especially if you’ll be arriving past dark. Zlata and Oleg were lovely and helpful.

Lovely Stay at Ayiti Cottage

Book it! Everything was picturesque and perfect from the breathtaking views of Fish Bay, great communication, and excellent host hospitality, this is the perfect little cottage for a getaway for two! It was nice to be a little apart from the buzz of Cruz Bay, but still a convenient 7 min away!

Great little cottage!

This cottage is petite, but had everything we needed. The hosts were very kind and even used their generator when we lost power. The location was perfect for us and had great views!

Peacful Oasis

Beautiful stay, beautiful landscape. 10 mins from Cruz Bay, 10 mins from the Windmill Bar. Perfect for the two of us, had everything we needed. The porch view was just wonderful. One recommend, the hot tub water smelled a bit stale, may have needed some chemicals and it took hours to heat up (which they told us about) so we only used once. Great communication with owners. Enjoyed the little bird that came to visit every morning on the porch and the iguana that climbed up the tree. Shower was lovely, bed was comfy... you need a jeep here. Thankful and well rested.

Never again.

I will never stay at this place again or recommend. The electricity went out which was no fault of the owner but they would not turn on the generator so we had no water or electricity for 2 days. No water and no way to flush the toilet. Owner stopped responding at one point. Sent someone to turn on generator after throwing a fit. Turned on generator for about 5 minutes then it turned off and they left never said a word as to why the generator was not left on. Never heard back. At one point they found us a place to stay in St Thomas but it was 9pm at night. Pointless because we had a car rental and no way to get to st Thomas.

Out of the way, quiet

Comfortable King Bed, beautiful view. Functional kitchen. Hard to find at first as GPS/Maps doesn't show it. Best car to rent is a 2 door jeep as parking at Mongoose Junction is easier with a shorter vehicle. Lot's of places to eat and snorkel. Check wardrobe for maps and brochures. .

The view was amazing! But as for the cottage is old and outdated. It’s in the mountains so definitely need to rent a truck to get around. The window in kitchen was broken, the sliding door screen and front screen were malfunctioning, my husband tried to fix them. No ventilation so if attempting to cook alarm (which is great) keeps beeping. The tv started working and half way through our trip didn’t work.

Perfect Getaway for Two (W & D)

Absolutely perfect! Cute, quiet, secure, safe place. Beautiful view of Fish Bay from the porch area off the bungalow. The sounds of birds, peepers/bugs, ocean, wind, and waves are just what we wanted to hear. It's within a short drive to the market, and not too far from Mongoose Junction, and the beaches. Oleg & Zlata stayed in touch, never intrusive - and answered any questions that came up. Kudos to their friend, Alena for checking in on us to make sure we were comfortable and settled. We didn't want to leave! We definitely want to book here again. 5 stars PLUS! I've been to STJ 3 times, and this was, by far, the best place I've stayed! See you again next Spring!!! Sending love!!!

Best experience with a rental ever!

Stayed in April and couldn’t be happier or more impressed with the cottage. First, they have a water filtration system, and we felt safe drinking the tap water, plenty hot and cold. Never lost power or internet. We only needed the gentle hum of the window unit at night. Surprising how comfortable the breezes through the screened windows made the cottage.The cottage is extraordinarily clean everywhere, even behind and under furniture and is laid out very well with a sitting area at the end of the bed and a big closet. The kitchen has quality pans and utensils. Oleg offered his propane outdoor grill, which I used. Nothing like grilling out in paradise! We cooked 3 meals and ate them on the bistro dining set on the porch/patio overlooking Fish Bay, best table on the island! The other side is a super comfy outdoor couch with a coffee table perfect for morning coffee while waiting for the sunrise over the mountain. The bathroom is roomy enough. Plenty of toilet paper, paper towels and trash bags were provided. The hot tub works and is amazing at night under the stars. Shaded from the afternoon sun, you won’t burn during a daytime dip. The road out to this slice of heaven is a challenge but the serenity is worth it. Quick trip to the store is just 10 minutes from Cruz Bay. It's worth twice the price, we will be back. Zlata and Oleg are very friendly and kind hosts. If you see a bird with a broken wing tapping on your window wanting a cracker, that's Loopy. Hope to see them again!

Cozy Cottage

Wonderful place to stay. View from back deck was beautiful, just as advertised by Vrbo. Beach accessories were very helpful with our beach adventures. Zlada and Oleg were very friendly and helpful with answering questions about where to snorkel. We enjoyed our stay!
