WOW - WHAT A CAMP
For the fisherman where do we start. Enormous pier right out back with fishing green lights that light up the entire water for night fishing. For those that want to bring a boat, two large boat lifts that will accommodate up to 26' long fishing boats. If you want to leave your boat at home and hire a guide, we have some of the best guides on speed dial. They will pick you up right out front off the pier. Crabbin anyone? You can crab right there off your backyard.

2nd trip to crabbin cabin

We were there about 2 years ago. WONDERFUL location and beautiful, comfortable house. Would not hesitate to go again. Great views of shrimp boats, large vessels, dauphins, sunrise. Men enjoyed attempting to fish and catch crabs - weren't too lucky but they enjoyed the time out there. Hope to go back later. Great help with the lift for us 'older' folks who cannot climb stairs. Especially grateful for the lift help with ice chests and luggage. Owner very easy to work with!

This is the 3rd year we have stayed in this house for an annual company fishing trip and it has been excellent every time! We highly recommend.

This place is AMAZING!

We loved everything about our stay here. Bruce is wonderful & very communicative. He made our stay stress free. Pictures are amazing but still don't do it justice. This is your Hackberry oasis, I promise! We even asked where they got the bed from because it was so comfortable. We will def be back

5+ stars!!!!

There is not a detail missed when it comes to Crabbin Cabin on the Water!!! I would give it 10 stars if I could. My family of 10 (7 adults and 3 grands under 2) all stayed very comfortably. There is plenty on room for everyone. The layout of the cabin is ideal for family gatherings while the littles played. The deck has a wrap around enclosure so we didn't have to worry about the littles playing outside or watching to BIG ships pass by. Mr Bruce was always available and friendly to answer questions or provide suggestions on fishing. While we were there, the weather didn't cooperate for fishing, but the crabs were on fire!!! I would rent this cabin again and again!!!! A big thank you to Mr Bruce and his team for making our trip one for the books!!!

We love the Crabbin Cabin!! Great home, great view, great fishing right off the boat dock & Bruce, the owner is very friendly & easy to talk to should you have any questions. Highly Recommend!!!

A great fishing vacation

Stayed here with the family for 4 days of fishing and crabbing. Cabin was amazing, caught huge crabs right off the boat house and fish at night. Just a short drive to the beach for the kids to hunt for sea shells and sea glass. Couldn't have asked for better.

Fisherman’s Paradise

Our family thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this amazing property. It was spotless on arrival, decorated beautifully, extremely spacious, and had pretty much anything you could ask for as a fisherman. The green lights shining off the pier were awesome for night fishing and the fish cleaning station and large bait well were a super nice bonus as well. I was also very thankful to have access to the boat lift, as the wakes created by the large ships navigating the channel would have destroyed my boat if left in the water. Having a steady supply of fresh ice from the ice machine was just icing on the cake! Please do yourself a favor and book this rental now. You will not be disappointed! Thanks Bruce!

So Much Fun

The house and property were fantastic! Bruce was a great host and made sure our needs were met. There is not much to do in Hackberry, but the house is right on the water and about 30 minutes from Lake Charles or the Gulf. We spent most of our time at the house, hanging out or fishing from the excellent dock. We caught lots of fish, saw a pink dolphin, an alligator, and lots of boats. While Hackberry is a small town, Brown's is a very well-stocked grocery store. Lots of wildlife refuges nearby (we didn't spend much time in the marsh because of the deer flies). In another season, these would be fun to explore. We already have plans to come back!

WOW - great water view, super great comfort!

The property was amazing. The location terrific. The house fantastic. The owner (?) - Bruce, helpful and most considerate, especially with the help with the lift. His helpers extremely helpful and courteous. Even the weather was great - if Bruce had anything to do with that. We all enjoyed sitting on the back deck and the men had plenty of fishing and crabbing spots - lots of shade. Would very much like to go back next year. I'll be checking things out again in Nov/Dec for the 2024 spring if I'm still around - God willing.

Wonderful Spring Break Fishing Trip

Loved the house! It had everything we needed. It was a great place for our family fishing trip. Very comfortable for 3 families. The kids had a blast and Bruce was a wonderful host. We would definitely come back and stay again.

MARDI GRAS 2023

From the moment we drove up we fell in love with this camp! It was super clean, spacious, comfortable beds, lots of seating inside and outside. We were able to cook, fish off the deck, make a fire, play cards, and enjoy each others company. All ages had a blast! The weather wasn't the best however, we had a great time. I'm hoping to come back very soon so we can use our boat and spend all day outside on the deck fishing!!

Great weekend getaway!

My family and I were looking for a weekend getaway to celebrate Labor Day weekend. Bruce was a pleasure to work with and make sure we had everything we needed. The house was clean and the kitchen had everything we needed as well. We enjoyed relaxing by the water, fishing and watching the large ships go by. It was the perfect, relaxing weekend and we will definitely be back!

The entire process of renting this property was so stress free. Bruce is the absolute best host. The view and peacefulness of the neighborhood was suburb. It was like home away from home. If you haven’t stayed here before it should absolutely be on your bucket list. The Crabbin cabin is absolutely gorgeous

Crabbin Cabin On The Water was an amazing SURPRISE!

This is an awesome rental (very spacious, fully equipped kitchen, outside areas have a lot of great furniture for family gatherings. The dock/boat slips are very inviting/comfortable for pier fishing. Every morning you wake up to a great view of the ship channel…it is amazing seeing ships passing through). This area reminds me of our family camp in Grand Isle, LA. Hackberry is only 2-1/2 to 3 hours from Houston with great fishing and crabbing. Bruce (the property owner) is truly invested in his rentals and his guest (he was available 24/7). Can’t wait to go back! Jerry (Houston, TX)
