It's perfectly sized for families, group of friends or a romantic getaway and is equipped w/essential amenities, Wi-Fi, and air conditioning. Close to shops, restaurants & minutes to a public boat ramp but it retains a tranquil, relaxing vibe. Enjoy fun in a game room or relax in sunroom, screened porch, deck or at firepit. Lake life at its best!

JUST RIGHT!

Location is JUST RIGHT for our group...although a little steep to walk up from the pier, since most of us are over 70! Christina & her husband are very helpful when needed!This is our 2nd year staying for a week, and we will probably be back next year!

Perfect for our needs

We were in town for a family event and this place was perfect. Plenty of space, beautiful view, and idyllic for our needs. Communication with the host was super easy. I would highly recommend if you need a quiet getaway.

Beautiful lake house close to town of Clarksville

Beautiful house in a great location. Tons of room and well stocked. Easy to access boat ramp and town. Parking is a little tight but very manageable. We will definitely keep this in mind for future stays!

We had a wonderful time and enjoyed the amazing views from the house. The house was well equipped, and we all enjoyed the boat dock, firepit and game room. My favorite was drinking coffee on the screen porch while listening to the sounds of the lake in the morning. Our only issue was the steepness of the driveway and the backyard made it difficult for my mom (in her mid 70s with 2 previous knee replacements) to get around as easily but we made it work.

8 of us stayed at the home from Atlanta, Maine and Utah for a family wedding. The home accommodated us well and the hosts were super responsive. Beautiful views!

Perfect family lake weekend!

Two families enjoyed a great stay! Easy check-in and very responsive host. Loved swimming off the dock and using the kayak. Enjoyed all of the many scenic seating areas, inside and out. Kids loved the game room. Comfortable beds. Used the grill and fire pit for s'mores. Really a perfect lake getaway.

Blue Heron

We were looking for a house with excellent lake access to accommodate our large family. The Blue Heron provided exactly what we needed. The lake access and water quality were excellent. The house was “just right” for our needs. The host/ hostess were very kind and responsive to any need. Definitely recommend a stay here!

Excellent Views!

The Blue Heron is beautiful place just off the main channel of Kerr Lake (AKA Buggs Island Lake!). The views of the water are excellent! The house has a nice selection of places to enjoy the view. From the screened porch and bedroom downstairs to the comfortable sunroom and dining area upstairs, there's a place for everyone! The house is well appointed with comfortable beds and soft linens. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Blue Heron!

Lovey family getaway

Overall it was a lovely visit! We greatly enjoyed all the house had to offer, especially the game and the lake. Our only slight complaint would be the property could have been a bit cleaner as some areas were duty and it was clear a dog had been there before us. There were paw prints on some of the furniture on the lower patio and a dog bone under the couch in the living room. It did not ruin our stay however and the property overall was still clean, especially the kitchen. Thank you for the visit and we hope to come back again soon!

Overall very good. Enjoyed the house The only concern was the steepness in the backyard to the lake. The concrete steps put down are not secure. Had one of our guests slip and fall. Maybe secure them

Everything you are looking for

From the moment we booked the Blue Heron, our experience was beyond our expectations. Our host contacted us periodically before we arrived to make sure we had all the information we needed and answered all our questions very promptly. Checking in was simple and in no time we were unpacked. The house is extraordinary with two large master suites, a third king sized bedroom, a lovely bunk room, several living rooms and porches, and a game room. We rented a boat for the week and the dock was our everyday hangout. You can swim, fish, and enjoy the lake right from the wonderful dock. Bring some floats and spend your afternoons laughing and playing with your family. There are board games in the game room if air hockey, foosball or ping pong aren’t your speed. Every room has wifi and TVs, although looking at the lake through the huge windows or off the porches was more our speed. I can’t recommend this place, or these hosts enough.

Spiders, Roaches & Water Bugs ... Oh my!

So, these are the things we encountered a STEEP downward driveway along with a steep backyard ... no room for kids to play safelyspiders & webs were all over the doors & windows ... large water bugs that crawled around & dead on the floor ... live & dead cockroaches throughout ... it made our family feel creeped out hoping that nothing crawled in the beds or in our belongingsdog hair was throughout the house & was swept up daily ... it was present on the pillowcases in the bedroom with the bunk-bedsthe oven is dirtygame room is in the front--really too small to have all that in a small spacecouldn't enjoy the outdoor space because of the faded/dirty furniture, leaves & bugs that covered pretty much everythingnot enough safety features (stair rail to the backyard, safety rail/barrier out back)it has a small grill that is like the ones you find in a park & it was dirty ... I had to venture out & buy my ownI wish I took more photos to show the extent of my disappointment that I attached.A plus is that the AC worked VERY well. Who ever cleans the house just change the towels, restock toilet paper & clean the dishes. They are NOT earning their pay.The owners need to inspect their property more thoroughly & make it top priority to make it presentable for future renters.We were very disappointed & very eager to leave to the point that we forgot our snacks in the pantry. Do NOT rent this property if you want to have an enjoyable stay at the lake. BEWARE!!!

Dear future guests, We are committed to providing a five star guest experience. I believe this review is reflected for being unable to grant a special request from this tenant! while we do attempt to grant special request,,,there are times this is not possible. I hope future guests will consider our other reviews in evaluating the quality of our Lake home. We received no notice from this Guest, that any of the claimed cleaning issues were present during their stay. If a “deep water” dock, beautiful lake views excellent fishing and quality play areas are important to your family, I believe the Blue Heron lake house is unsurpassed!

Just okay

My family stayed here for our daughters wedding week! Our stay in Howard and Christina’s lake house was okay. When we entered the house, basic cleaning was done as far as the dusting of tables and straightening up of things but the cleanliness did not meet my standards. There were bugs and dust around the beds and windows. We had to rewash some of the dishes and the outside of the house looked like it needed a good power washing to get rid of the spider webs. The coffee pot kept giving us a pot full of grounds so we just used the kureg. The house is well stocked as far as nice TV’s, games and a kayak. Paper towels and trash bags were provided but we ran out and needed to purchase more paper products for the week. If you are only staying a few nights you should be fine on those items. I did contact the owners and point out my frustrations with the cleanliness. They were very responsive and Howard did come and mow the yard the next day. I do believe they want to provide you with a nice stay at their lake house but for me, the bathrooms upstairs were too small, it was not clean enough and overpriced for the “older home” that it is. If fishing is your thing, My dad did catch 30 fish off the dock in less than an hour!
