This cottage was absolutely lovely and incredibly charming! Having the secondary cottage on the same property was the perfect setup for travelling with family. The attention to detail was phenomenal; little signs that described how to use the showers, which cabinet doors were permanently fixed so you knew not to try to open them, recommendations on plugging in one appliance at a time so the breaker doesn't trip, etc. We had a fantastic experience and the location was amazing! Nannette (the host) was extremely responsive and helpful, even recommended things for us to do with our kiddos. Would definitley stay here again!

Small, cozy beach cottage. Only a few steps to the beach. The cottage has a fun beach vibe. Kitchen well-stocked. Beds comfy. There is a separate extra suite in the back that we didn’t use, but would be nice if traveling with a larger group. Would definitely stay here again.

House was beautiful! I loved it! Perfect location. The house had everything we needed. I appreciated how dog friendly the house was. Our old gal Roxy enjoyed herself very much. My only negative remark would be the kitchen needs a few more large serving/mixing bowls as well as larger cereal/salad bowls. I realize that most people don’t cook on vacation but I do. I ran out of large bowls for fruit salad, pasta salads I had made for our stay. But that’s me, I’m a cook even on vacation. Nannette was so responsive, she checked in with us to make sure we checked in with no problem. We’ve stayed in many rentals, in the US and Ireland and this is in my top 10. I would definitely stay here again if the opportunity presents itself. Beach was extremely quiet at this time of year which was different but nice. Looking forward to returning again to stay.

Pleasant cottage within minutes to the beach. Lots of thoughtful amenities and the house was well maintained and clean. The smaller unit behind the main one is a nice option for a larger party.

The cottage and ensuite is cute, clean, and well kept. The first 3 days were great, then it rained. There was no breeze and there were biting flies and lots of mosquitos and jelly fish. We went to Lewes beach for the day and they also had lots of jellyfish. When the breeze returned the flies and mosquitos definitely got better. You can't control the weather. Broadkill beach is one of the only dog friendly beaches around,

New adventure

We had never been to Broadkill before but it was ideal for children. The beach was quiet and the bay was calm. The shed was equipped for our time in the sun! The backyard bedroom was perfect forWhen the grandparents came and wanted some quiet in the evening and mornings! The home was clean, cared for, and comfortable. It was a well thought out abode for vacationers. We felt safe and relaxed. We couldn’t ask for more. Thank you!

Memorial Day Weekend

The cottage is amazing and this was our 2nd stay, which was just as good as the first. You are literally steps from the beach in a relaxing/secluded area. The cottage has everything you could want and the owners go above and beyond to make sure you have a fantastic time. We are already planning our next trip back.

Great house - Clean, cozy & comfortable

This is a.great house steps from the beach. Very clean, comfortable beds, nice neighborhood. Loved having places to put our stuff (dressers, wall hooks, closets). We enjoyed sitting in the sun room and spending time together in the living room.

Adorable beach cottage

Our stay at this beach cottage was great! Nannette really thought of everything to make this place feel like home. Super clean and fun, inviting beach colors and decor. The bonus guest house is perfect for those who may want their separate space, but still be close by. It was really nice to have access to the bikes as well. Owner was responsive to questions and checked on us as well. The beach is a very short walk, as is the small store. We loved our time here!

Perfection

The cottage is absolutely amazing in a quiet location. It was perfect for my family and everything was well organized and easily located. Nannette was very accommodating and made sure the trip went smoothly. We will definitely be returning to this cottage.

Nice and clean house, steps to beach for a visit with grandkids. Loved the separate cottage like in-law suite. Allowed some down time and privacy. Location was a short drive to Lewis, DE and perfect for nature lovers. The step down to the beach is a bit washed out, just have to watch your steps. However there is a public entrance a few blocks away and a small store to grab ice cream and a sandwiches.

Amazing in the Off-Season

My partner, my roommate, and I stayed here for a week with our fur babies in early October. It was everything we were hoping for and expecting. The weather was still perfect for lazy beach days. The property was perfect for us, especially as a couple with a friend. The separate suite was so nice for us to have privacy but still be able to come together as a group when we wanted to. I love the beach here, it’s quiet and cozy and great for fur family members. Lots of dog centric locals who weren’t bothered by friendly greetings from my wet and sandy Aussie. The house was incredibly clean, perfectly outfitted with all the necessities, all the modern touches, but still retaining all the retro charm you could ask for. Nannette was super communicative, incredibly responsive and available, and the keyless check in was a breeze. 10/10 we will absolutely be back.

Great beach stay

We really enjoyed our stay at calypso cottage. The home was great for me, my husband, our 2 year old child and our dog. The location and proximity to the beach was perfect! The beach itself was nice and quiet, and dog friendly. The neighborhood is also very nice to walk/bike. Broadkill beach is a little off the beaten path so the nearest stores (with the exception of the broadkill store) and town is about a 10-15 minute drive, which for us was fine. You can also venture to nice restaurants in Lewes, which was about 20 minutes away. The home was clean and well equipped. The bonus cottage was a nice plus as well. The only negative was the bugs. Even with lots of bug spray I still ended up getting eaten up. Regardless , I definitely still recommend calypso cottage and would love to visit again next summer!

Cute beach cottage

Adorable cottage, well maintained and super clean! Steps from very quiet and dog friendly beach. The cottage was well equipped with everything we needed and the suite out back was great for extra privacy. Host was great with communication. Definitely pack some bug spray, as others have mentioned. We came prepared. The area is quiet but close enough to Lewes/Rehoboth if looking for activities. We enjoyed taking the ferry from Lewes to Cape May for a day.

Adorable & Clean

We absolutely enjoyed our stay. The quest cottage was perfect for our son & daughter-in-law with a young baby. Quick easy walk to the dog friendly beach. Very clean and lots of little things that made the vacay enjoyable - games for rainy day, beach chairs, bikes, etc.

I grew up in Milton, and spent most of the summer months on the beaches in Lewes and Cape Helopen. My husband, a native born Delawarian, first learned to love the water and beaches through our travels and then by learning to fish on the shores of Cape Helopen. We both agreed that we wanted a get-away place with a view of the sand and the sea. Not wanting to have to travel to far, we decided to buy a place in Delaware. We hope you will enjoy Calypso Cottage as much as we do.

Calypso Cottage is a cute cottage that almost fronts Broadkill beach. Broadkill Beach is a long strip of land with Prime Hook National Wildlife Refuge on one side and the Delaware bay on the other. Because it is basically one road, with a dead end at the north and south, it is a very chill and private beach, worlds away from Rehoboth or Dewey. At the entrance to the Broadkill neighborhood is the Broadkill Store which sells the basics for a beach vacation.
