Welcome to Riverview House!

Relax and enjoy time making memories with family and friends.

Riverview boasts sweeping views (but no river access) of the beautiful Cheboygan River; part of the 40 mile Inland Waterway which includes 3 rivers, 3 lakes and access to Lake Huron, the Straits of Mackinac & Mackinac Island. We are just 0.5 miles from a DNR boat launch, the Forks. Please note we do not have air conditioning.

Riverview House is the perfect location for your Up North getaway - close to Mackinaw City (18 mi) which is a destination in its own right as well as the gateway to the famous Mackinac Island (voted “Worlds Best Island” by Travel & Leisure readers, July 2022), beaches (3mi), numerous trails for ORV’s, snowmobiling, cross country skiing, lighthouses, fishing, golf, hiking trails and casinos.

Located on the picturesque Straits of Mackinac, Cheboygan is a hidden gem that offers something for everyone. We are ideally located for a variety of day trips - Indian River (14mi) offers Big Bear Adventures (tube/raft/kayak/mini golf) as well as Cross in the Woods), Historic Mill Creek Discovery Park (14 mi) , Headlands International Dark Sky Park (21mi), Petoskey (34 mi), the iconic Leggs Inn Restaurant (30mi) which is located near the Tunnel of Trees, Ocqueoc Falls (32mi), Black Mountain Recreation Area (15mi), newly opened Skybridge at Boyne Mountain (38 mi) the longest walkable suspension bridge in the world.

Spend some time exploring Cheboygan - Visit Gordon Turner Park/City Beach (3mi), take a glass bottom boat tour, rent a pontoon or kayak, and visit the many downtown shops, dining and entertainment. We are located only 2 miles from downtown and shopping.

Cross the Mighty Mac Bridge and venture into Michigan’ majestic Upper Peninsula.

Spend a lazy day playing on the sprawling lawn, watching the wildlife and boats or relaxing around the campfire. Great atmosphere for remote working and enjoying time after work.

There was 11 of us staying at the Riverview house and we fit perfectly. Ages ranged from 1 to 64. The house was very clean and was well stocked with cooking supplies and bathing supplies. The view of the river is amazing with lots of boats passing through. The field next to the house was great for some family sports like baseball and football. The communication was great with the owner and she even sent a few activities that were happening in town for the weekend we stayed. We have a yearly trip to Cheboygan for the Mackinac Bridge walk and this was one of our favorites!

The house was perfect for short girls getaway. The deck in the back was great for both morning coffee and evening relaxation. There were many good restaurants and activities within a short driving distance. Would highly recommend.

Best stay on the intercoastal waterway in Cheyboygen !

Check in was super easy and house was available ahead of the 4 o’clock checkin. Hosts were very easy to communicate with and super accommodating. The kitchen was well supplied as we cooked all of our meals here. This is a Great place! Would definitely come back.

Beautiful Getaway

It is a gorgeous and spacious home. Well positioned for peace and quiet and close enough to explore the area. It was the perfect place for my family to recharge and recouperate. I would recommend this listing to anyone!

Girls' staycation!

The house is spacious and wonderful! Great View of the river large deck to enjoy! The house was sell stocked! I have never been to a VRBO that was so generously stocked with everyday items! Overall, an absolutely great property!

Fall trip

The house was lovely, surprisingly larger than the look at the front of the house. Very clean and comfortable, kitchen was well stocked and the views were very pleasant. We even enjoyed the in house fireplace.Trisha was very helpful and easy to reach. Would recommend to anyone. Thank you

Spacious House with River Views

We rented this house with my parents for 2 weeks in August and really enjoyed our stay here! We enjoyed sitting in the bright dining room watching the sun come up over the river each morning. We brought our 16 month old and 3.5 year old who both enjoyed running around the very spacious house. Trisha, the owner, was very kind and helpful every step of the way too… letting us use the washer/dryer since we were staying so long. Not sure when we’ll be able to return to Cheboygan but we would definitely consider staying here again if we were coming back soon!

Perfect for our Extended Family

Spacious home, plenty of room and bathrooms for our group of 10. Has everything you need in kitchen, bathrooms, and bedding. We traveled to Mackinac Island, St Ignace, and Mackinaw City everyday; easy trip. Price is much better then staying in rooms near those areas plus we like doing our own breakfast in each morning and being all together! Had no issues at all. Would stay again.

Beautiful house/Great location

Spent our holiday long weekend this memorial day with family....we had so much fun staying at this beautiful house with such a beautiful backyard view. Location is great!!! We were able to explore Mackinac island for one day, spent a day at Big Bear Adventure, had a stroll at Cheboygan downtown....and were able to spend quality time with the family at night doing backyard bar-b-que and just relaxing. I would definitely recommend this place.....Trisha is very accomodating!! Thank you so much for such a woderful stay.

A perfect place for us to reminisce and refresh

This place went above and beyond our expectations. The front of the house is misleading , as it is much more spacious inside than you would expect. Everything we needed was there, worked well, and was clean. The backyard lake view is great and location is close to town. We were cleaning out our late parents’ house all day and enjoying family time at night. This was just perfect for the seven of us and we could have fit a few more. We hope to be back!

Family visit

Our extended family of twelve were comfortable here while in town for a family wedding. Although only three bedrooms, it worked with extra bedding available. Lots of living space inside and outside, with a lovely view of the river! Lots of thought into providing hospitable extras-coffee,tea, popcorn, paper supplies, games for children, etc. Very clean, well-stocked kitchen, lots of general storage space and parking.
