This Charleston style Southern mansion, located just one mile from Pine Manor, has five bedrooms, an old fashioned 5 bed attic bedroom, and 4.5 baths, the 10,000 square foot Oak Manor is the second largest guest house at Pine Manor Estates. It sits on over 10 acres with two private stocked lakes, private movie room, library and man cave with poker table. Enjoy warm Southern Illinois afternoons and cool southern cocktails on the grand porch, time seems to have a way of just slowing down to the perfect pace at Oak Manor.

An amazing home! The perfect secluded area, but still so close to civilization!! The two lakes right by the house were amazing. The movie room was so nice and we loved the pool area that was just a 1 minute drive away! The massive fridge, deep freezer, and ice maker were huge perks. Also every person had an actual SUPER comfy bed to sleep on. 10/10 super luxurious and resort feels for southern Illinois.

Amazing Stay

Awesome and classy

This is our second time staying at Pine Manor, but our first time in this home. What an awesome home and location! The home is classically decorated but still comfortable for our large family gathering. We Loved having the ice machine to load the cooler for the pool (which is also awesome!).

Wonderful place

We spent three wonderful days at this beautiful house. It was very comfortable, with plenty of room for our entire family, 12 adults and 6 children. There was plenty to do at the location, swimming, fishing, relaxing, as well around the area, horseback riding, parks, wine tasting. The hostess was very friendly and helpful, easy to reach and responding immediately to our needs. We give this location the best rating possible!!

Amazing home in an amazing location

I cannot say enough how wonderful our stay was at Oak Manor. We stayed here for our daughter’s law school graduation and we had 15 family and friends join us. The house was exceptional. So clean and comfortable. We cooked all of our meals together and grilled out on the terrace. The property grounds are wonderful and we spent many hours on the terrace enjoying the views and comfy patio furniture. I loved having my morning coffee on the front porch swing listening to the birds sing. Betsy the property manager was very responsive and very kind in her communication. We all enjoyed the fancy coffee machine and comfortable beds. This property is outstanding and perfect for family get togethers. Every comfort is thoughtfully curated. We could not have had a more wonderful get away in this beautiful home.

It was even better than the pictures

I have nothing but nice things to say about this house and our experience. It was amazing, there were 10 friends staying for a weekend and we had plenty of space and privacy. We planned to cook and hang out and always worry about rental house kitchens not being well stocked with cooking essentials or place settings but it was the opposite, I’ve never been to a vacation property that was this well equipped. The kitchen had plenty of pots, pans, serving dishes, place settings, flatware, wine glasses and refrigerator space (there’s an extra in the garage!). The spaces in the house were comfortable and clean and gave us lots of opportunities to change scenery (coffee on the porch, breakfast in the breakfast nook, dinner in the dining room, dessert on the veranda). We did have an issue with the lower oven not staying on and I emailed the host, someone was knocking on the door to check on it within the hour. It couldn’t be fixed while we were there, which wasn’t an issue, but the response time was impressive and appreciated. We would definitely return, everything was clean, lovely, and high end. The bathrooms had toiletries, and there was a basket in the entry with extras like big spray and sunscreen to use if you forgot it. The extra touches were thoughtful.

The Gibson family has had their roots long planted in Southern Illinois. When thinking back to their favorite memories they were filled with family and the simple pleasures that live just steps off the beaten path. Their love for the area and Southern heritage that comes with it turned from a lifestyle into a dream when they acquired Pine Manor in 1998.

The Gibsons realized their desire to share the culture and luxury of the South and so opened the doors to the Pine Manor Estate. For more than twenty years, the Gibson family has furnished, remodeled, and restored Pine Manor. With the success and warmth the main house brought, the family went on to acquire several more houses, 125 acres of land, a farmhouse, and budding orchards.

This expansive, growing retreat is maintained with care and kept up in timeless elegance. The Estate has upheld the Gibson dream and has provided the perfect setting to reconnect with those around you- all while experiencing classic Southern country culture.

Betsy Modglin, Property Manager, has 10 years of experience with Vacation Rentals and has Premier Host status with all of the many properties she manages. Betsy has over 20 years of creating guest experiences that go above and beyond expectations.

The Gibson Family found so many people were enjoying the original Pine Manor Mansion that they bought the Gibson Guest House to be able to accommodate more guests. Soon they found themselves buying more and more homes in the Pine Lake subdivision and creating a resort-like feel throughout the entire Estate.

Oak Manor is spacious and full of charm. This sprawling estate gives everyone room to share but also room to spread out and have privacy. The double front porches are a guest favorite.
