Originally built in 1904 on land donated by General Palmer, this Queen Anne–style church served as an important gathering place for its community and was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 2014. After years of careful restoration by a local family, the building has been thoughtfully reimagined into a one-of-a-kind home that honors its history while offering modern comfort, space, and warmth.

Vaulted ceilings and a dramatic arched window create an open, airy atmosphere, grounded by dark wood floors and layered lighting. Comfortable seating centers the space, including a Queen sleeper sofa for additional guests, while a large smart TV and stove-style gas fireplace make it easy to settle in after a day of exploring. Flowing seamlessly into the kitchen, dining area, and out to the deck, this versatile gathering space is ideal for shared meals, quiet mornings, and cozy nights together.

This open kitchen and dining space is the bright, gathering-ready heart of the home. Soaring ceilings and arched windows flood the room with natural light, while light cabinetry, dark stone counters, and sculptural pendant lighting create a clean yet elevated feel. The cook’s kitchen is fully equipped for everything from casual breakfasts to celebratory dinners, anchored by an oversized granite island with seating that invites conversation and connection. Nearby, a long farm-style dining table is perfect for shared meals, games, or lingering coffee. Floor-to-ceiling glass doors open directly to the elevated deck, with the outdoor grill located just steps away, making it effortless to move from indoor cooking to outdoor dining.

✶ Outdoor Space ✶
Step through the dramatic French glass doors off the kitchen and dining room onto an elevated, sun-splashed composite deck that seamlessly extends the living space outdoors. Framed by sleek black metal railings, the deck is thoughtfully furnished with gray rocking chairs gathered around a propane fire table—ideal for slow mornings with coffee or cozy evenings unwinding after a day in the Springs.

At the far end of the deck, a stainless gas grill makes outdoor dining effortless, while leafy trees and a fenced parking court beyond create a sense of privacy and calm just steps from the heart of the home. Soft deck lighting sets the mood after sunset, offering a warm glow for relaxed conversations and fireside moments under the Colorado sky.

The main deck also serves as the designated smoking area, complete with an ashtray for convenience.

This home offers four king bedrooms, each designed for comfort, convenience, and easy relaxation, with thoughtful amenities and ample storage throughout.

The main-floor bedroom is wheelchair accessible and provides a calm, light-filled retreat with dark hardwood floors and a king bed flanked by nightstands and lamps. Tall front windows bring in natural light, while blackout curtains help keep mornings restful. A bistro table for two near the windows creates a comfortable spot for coffee or laptop use. Across from the bed, a swivel-mounted 40-inch Roku TV allows for the best viewing angle, with a dresser below for storage. An open closet alcove provides hangers and fabric cubbies, and charging options are conveniently located at the bedside.

At the top of the stairs, a small landing features a round chess table with two stools and wall lighting, offering a quiet place to unwind before bed. Beyond the door, the upper-level bedroom serves as a private retreat with vaulted ceilings and dark hardwood floors. An ornate king bed with nightstands and lamps anchors the room, while an electric fireplace and a mounted 40-inch Roku TV create a cozy setting for evening wind-downs. The home includes three full bathrooms and one half bath, thoughtfully arranged across all levels for comfort, convenience, and privacy.

On the lower level, a full bathroom is located just off the downstairs bedrooms and movie room, featuring a tub/shower combo, modern finishes, and stocked essentials.

The main-level suite includes its own private ensuite bathroom designed for comfort and accessibility, with a curbless walk-in shower (28.5" glass entry), grab bars, and seating bench.

Upstairs, the second-level ensuite bathroom delivers a spa-style experience with a large glass shower, multiple shower features, and a freestanding soaking tub.

An exterior ramp provides step-free entry to the main level, which includes the living room, kitchen, dining area, half bath, and a bedroom with an accessible ensuite. Upper and lower levels are accessed by stairs.

✶ No Parties or Events ✶
Events, gatherings, and parties of any kind are not permitted. This home is intended for a comfortable, relaxing stay rather than a party environment. If you’re planning loud or disruptive activity, this may not be the right home for your stay.

✶ Quiet Hours ✶
Please observe quiet hours from 7pm to 7am out of respect for our nearby neighbors. Outside of quiet hours, we ask that all guests keep noise to a reasonable level at all times and respect neighboring properties and boundaries.

✶ Noise Monitoring Device ✶
To help maintain a peaceful environment, a privacy-safe, VRBO-compliant noise monitoring device is in place. It measures overall sound levels only and does not record audio or conversations.

✶ Firepit & Grill ✶
Use the propane fire table and gas grill as intended. Do not add additional fuels and ensure everything is fully off before leaving.

✶ Smoking ✶
Smoking is allowed outdoors only and never inside the home. Please use designated outdoor areas and proper receptacles for cigarette butts, and keep doors and windows closed while smoking outside to keep the home fresh. Absolutely no smoking, vaping, or open flames (candles, incense) are allowed indoors. A deep-cleaning fee will apply if evidence of indoor smoking is found.

This is a pet-free home, and we’re not able to host pets during reservations. Please select one of our pet-friendly properties if you plan to travel with animals. (Platform policies regarding service animals still apply.)

The home and the history of the home is beautiful! Open concept leaves lots of space for family time and private spaces for when you need quiet time. Close to all the attractions and within walking distance of many restaurants. The wheelchair accessible room and bathroom were perfect for me and difficult to find elsewhere. We definitely recommend!

Thank you for staying with us, as you mentioned our home has been beautifully renovated from a historical church. We wish we would have been able to help during your stay, particularly as we reached out to check on your visit and no mention was made of any issues. We strive to provide an exceptional guest experience and have changed the whole house water filter, which would have been an easy remedy to the water pressure described. Our home is in a central downtown location, less than 1/2 block to a park with pickle ball, tennis courts, a playground and on a walking path to several other parks. It's 1 block to one of the best coffee shops in the city, and less than 5 blocks to the main restaurants and shopping on Tejon. We value the opportunity to host you.

This property is immaculate!!! First time user of a rental property in the VRBO format - EVERYTHING was top notch - being in a wheelchair is difficult to find accommodations - any others with mobility issues-look no further - this Church has it all - the BEST 2 months ever!!! Kudos to Michelle and Ryan for a beautifully renovated Property-a definite must if in Colorado Springs- can’t say enough good things about our home away from home!!!

Peaceful and Relaxing

Literally so Peaceful and Quiet!! Excellent communication with host, my husband being a workaholic enjoyed the desk area. House had everything we would have in our home to make it welcoming. Absolutely luv’d the fact that it had top notch Hand soap and Shampoo and Conditioner. It’s the small things that makes it a 5 STAR HOME ❤️❤️

Great trip for our family

Staying at the converted church in Colorado Springs was such a unique experience for my family! We booked it for a short getaway with my wife and our 1.5-year-old daughter, and it turned out to be just perfect for us. First off, the open concept of the place was awesome. The high ceilings and spacious layout gave us plenty of room to move around, which was great with a little one who loves to explore. The decor was a nice blend of modern touches and some cool remnants of the church's history, which added to the charm without feeling too kitschy. Cleanliness was definitely on point—always a big plus when traveling with a toddler. We felt comfortable letting her roam around, knowing everything was well-maintained and tidy. Another big highlight was the location. There were some really nice parks nearby, which was perfect for us to take our daughter out to play and stretch her legs. It made the whole trip feel more like a local experience rather than just staying in a generic hotel. Overall, we had a great time. It offered a comfortable and interesting stay that suited our little family perfectly. If you're looking for something different and memorable in Colorado Springs, I'd definitely recommend checking it out!

Awesome base for hiking; and a great deal

We stayed here 6 nights as part of an 18-day trip through Colorado. Our primary purposes were 1) do challenging day hikes; 2) cook breakfast and a multi-course dinner in the evenings. In short: this home is absolutely fantastic, a super deal for the price and we would definitely want to stay here again if visiting Colorado Springs. This wonderful home – converted church meets spacious loft - made us feel like we were in our own home. The design touches were unique and cool. The main room was a fantastic, roomy place to relax in the afternoon after a long hike. The “mud” room at the back door was a great place to store our Dometic cooler, shoes and backpacks. The kitchen and island was outstanding: high end appliances, extensive selection of cooking utensils, great oven, gas cooktop and vent hood, great dishwasher. It even has filtered (reverse osmosis) water - both hot and cold. The bed and shower were comfortable. The location was perfect for our hikes (to the north, south and west). We communicated several times with the owner, who was super-responsive. Two minor notes. There is only a regular coffee maker (we brought our preferred pod coffee machine). We grilled 3 times; the grill is conveniently located on the balcony but in direct sunlight in the evenings (and there was a heat wave during our visit) so grilling was a bit “toasty”.

Located in the heart of downtown yet set aside in a quiet neighborhood, you can walk to all the best shopping, restaurants, events. There is a wonderful park, playground, tennis courts and creek less than 1 minute away. You can even walk the bike path to an awesome coffee shop! The drive to Old Colorado City is 10 minutes or 5 minutes more will take you to Manitou Springs.

Our home is walking distance to downtown Colorado Springs, though visitors often find a car necessary to visit the great sites of the Pikes Peak Region. Hourly bike and scooter rentals are available just down the street.
