Luxury Villa St James, 4 bed 4 bath , Private Pool, fantastic sea views

Harpers ( Refreshed in March 2024 and the photos show the refreshed state) is a beautifully furnished, luxury, 4 bedroom 4 bathroom, holiday villa, situated just north of Holetown St James in the Westmoreland area of Barbados. There are 4 large covered terraces, all have see views.
Harpers is located next to Sugar Hill and Royal Westmoreland, just 2 miles north of Holetown where you can find all the amenities you need for your stay. The Villa has a 26ft x 12ft pool, so you can swim and look at the sea view.

There is a flat screenTV with streaming stick with many many channels, an Amazon stick with free US and UK channels, a multi region DVD player, ultra fast WiFi.

The villa is a self-catering holiday rental with a fully equipped kitchen including, a large fridge-freezer with ice and filtered water, oven/hob, microwave, coffee maker, large toaster and grill/pannini maker.

The bedrooms are air-conditioned. There are three with king size beds (which is on the ground floor), and a bedroom with twin single beds. All bedrooms have en suite bathrooms/dressing rooms.

Our wonderful housekeeper visits once a week and is a mine of local information.
Extra Maid or Cook services can be provided if needed.
All linens are provided, including bath and pool towels.

Local area: Harpers is in the Westmoreland area just north of Holetown, with the Royal Westmoreland Golf course at the end of the road as well as Sugar Hill Tennis club next door. The Villa is also in close proximity to some very nice Restaurants such as the Lone Star and Tides.

Lime Grove is the newly built luxury shopping mail located in Holetown and it is just 1.5 miles down the road.

Pool was ok with no afternoon shade and no umbrellas. Had no adequate water for 3 days due to faulty pump that took too long to rectify. Hot water was inconsistent and in adequate. Had no power for a day and no internet for 7 days. The stay was average to the standard I expected.

Harpers Villa

We had a wonderful relaxing vacation at Harpers. The Villa is clean and comfortable with plenty of room for guests. We enjoyed the pool and the views of the sea.

Great location

Great location. Spacious Villa and great pool facilities. Just a few bits could do with a slight upgrade/maintenance, but on the whole, very happy with our stay.

Wonderful property

The property is clean, spacious and comfortable. We enjoyed the pool and short walk to the beach. The villa is close to Massy and restaurants.

Good location

Just spent a week at the villa the house is in a good location to some stunning beaches and great restaurants. The villa is a little tired but the pool is stunning as are the sunsets . Simon the manager was helpful and would recommend the villa .

Fantastic Views & Wonderful People

Our stay was fantastic...from the jovial welcome from Simon and the gracious smiles from Deborah, they took care of all our needs and then some. The Villa was wonderful, just what we all need. Definitely will return!

Great stay in beautiful house

From the moment we walked in there was just a wow factor about this property. So much space brilliantly laid out and with seating options everywhere. Spotlessly clean and equipped with everything we needed and more. Sadly we hit terrible traffic on the way to the house so kept the host waiting a lot. And then we didn't realise we had arrived and drove away. in a panic. Note that Google maps shows this as located in the Sugar hill complex when it isn't! Follow the directions given and you're fine.We loved to see the cow with his egret friend, the monkeys (they didn't come too near) and the visiting birds

Everything we could have wanted and more

We had an amazing stay, the villa was absolutely perfect and had everything we wanted. Every room has their own bathroom and the Villa is very spacious, with several relaxation areas. Simon the Villa manager is lovely and gave us a thorough tour of the house and told us everything we needed to know. We will definitely be returning! Thanks again for a perfect stay.

A wonderful 3 weeks in Barbados

Beautiful property with amazing views and sunsets. Bedrooms are huge with lots of storage which was great. House does need a little TLC in places but that would not stop up from returning to this property. Great location, very quiet, close to Holetown and glorious beaches and restaurants. A couple of minor issues during our stay which were dealt with very promptly by property manager Michael. Wildlife was amazing too with visits from local monkeys. All in all a wonderful 3 weeks at Harpers.

Paradise at Harpers

We had a brilliant holiday. Simon was very helpful and communicative throughout our stay. The villa is lovely and in a great location to explore the beaches up and down the west coast, and indeed the whole island. There was some building work going on next to the villa during our stay, so it was a bit noisy at times (as well as a keen gardener out strimming before 8am!), but it didn't detract at all from our holiday experience. We would definitely stay again!

Family and friends holiday

We had stayed at the property 8 years prior so knew what to expect and overall we had another great experience. The view from the master bedroom is hard to replicate. My only feedback would be the property it starting to feel a little tired in places but we would highly recommend it to friends

A great villa

The property was clean and spacious, with beautiful sea views. Large, comfy beds and well equipped kitchen. House manager Simon did a very comprehensive shop for us prior to our arrival. We did manage to walk to the beach, though you definitely need a car to get around. Lovely quiet neighbourhood, with the occasional cow waking us in the mornings! All in all a wonderful stay in a great value for money villa.

Very Happy Christmas

We had a truly wonderful festive 2 weeks with our family and their partners. The owner had kindly put up a tree in the hall and lights outside which was very much appreciated. The well-appointed villa has a super pool, 4 big bedrooms and numerous patio/balcony areas which gave everyone space to chill. The villa manager was quick to respond to any small issues we had and communication with the owner in the run up was prompt and friendly. Wonderful sunset views meant we were quite happy to stay in for sundowners and a bbq on several nights. There’s a pay-as-you-go gym just 100 yards along the road for the more energetic We felt very safe and very at home. Will definitely be back.

Anxiously awaiting the next time

The visit was simply wonderful. Check in process was a breeze. The owner and the property manager were responsive, accommodating and a delight to work with. The rooms were spacious, clean, comfortable and reflective of the pics shown on the listing. Several large sitting areas inside and out to suite the needs of couples or a family. Mornings were glorious with the sounds of nature while the view absolutely stunning. Will definitely be returning as soon as possible. Thanks Lee and Simon!!

An amazing villa & excellent service

Harpers Villa was superb!! We had 8 adults accommodated easily with so much space. What an amazing place to stay in. Very spacious, very clean & the service provided by Leslye-Ann was faultless, nothing was too much trouble. The price is also very reasonable compared to similar properties. There is so much to do & see. Great places locally to eat out & wonderful beaches everywhere you go. A great time had by all. Many thanks to Audrey & Lee, the owners for all the recommendations & a very relaxing holiday. We will definitely being coming back again real soon. Spacious, light and airy very comfortable house

The house is really spacious with several balconies and terraces and a choice of 3 dining areas. The 3 main bedrooms are large with large beds and nice bathrooms. You can be all together or separate out as desired! The view to the sea is lovely, the pool is good (we did our lengths most days) and there are sun loungers and chairs to suit all plus a garden with lime tree and coconut palms and a bbq. We would definitely recommend this villa. The agent Simon was amazingly helpful, very responsive and got us huge family shops as we were not allowed out pre second test results - luckily we were in this place so felt on holiday anyway!

Lovely Villa, great location

A lovely villa - very airy and ideally designed to make the most of the winds which blow through and keep the living areas cool. The bedrooms are beautiful, well furnished and all with aircon and ensuites. There are a number of balconies to sit and relax, and plenty of space by the pool for eating and sunbathing. Only 5 mins from central Holetown for supermarkets, beaches and restaurants. Three generations went, and all enjoyed it. Its a quiet location with a wide range of birds visiting the garden, and even some wild green monkeys on one morning. Lesley Anne does a great job of keeping it clean and is a great source of local info about where to go and what to do. Highly recommended.

Simple, Clean, Lots of Space

Harpers Villa was the home base for our party of 7 (Ages 11-80) for our trip to Barbados. The Villa provides everything one would need: - it is clean - there is lots of space - it is very reasonably priced - there is a pool - the beds are good - there is a housekeeper - there is a local manager who is VERY helpful - it is conveniently located - it has a nice view - the house is well equipped with the things you would need (from plates to guidebooks) - it felt safe Harpers Villa is one of those places that everything just somehow seems to work together, and the end result is a great place! I would highly recommend.

Harper Villa Barbados

What a wonderful house. When we arrives at the villa we were greeted by the Management and shown around the house. We were two couples and had a choice of 4 large bedrooms all beautifully decorated and furnished. The master bedroom had a balcony where we sat and watched the sunset. The pool and terrace is designed to be used all day as it has sun and shade. The garden is a very pleasant place to sit with lemon and banana trees. Very good shop in Hole town and plenty of good restaurants. Saw turtles release into the sea! We had the best holiday ever and look forward to the next viv & jeff

Covid Perfection

We booked this villa back in 2019 in readiness for a special family holiday for a 50th Birthday celebration and we 100% cannot fault the villa - its everything you would wish for - spotlessly clean, well equipped, good Wifi, in a quiet loctaion, with beautiful views and the beds were amazingly comfortable. But what really made the holiday for us given the global situation with Covid and quarantine requirements from Barbados was the planning, reassurance and communication from Simon the property manager - not to mention the huge family sized grocery shop he voluntarily did for us prior to our arrival to see us through our first few days. He managed to turn a stressful situation into an idyllic break away for us and we truly thank him for all his help.

Sibling and spouses get away

We found the home provided great space together and equal space to spread out. The bedrooms are the only air conditioned areas of the house but could provide pretty good ventilation with a lot of windows and doors opened. The pool was fantastic as well as the many outdoor sitting areas. Great privacy with the house not directly facing any other homes. The monkeys visited often which was always fun to see. The area of Holetown is fairly upscale area with great beaches not too far away. Showering at alternate times was required to ensure we each got hot water. With temperatures in the 30’s for us walking to Holetown was not an option therefore a car was helpful. Overall wonderful stay and should we return to Barbados we would definitely want to stay at Harper’s

It was nice ,but for me too far away from beaches, stores and you had to call taxi or walk for 20 minutes to the bus or you could make arrangements with the property manager for a transport which was little price and very convenient for us and we could ALWAYS count on Steve the driver The house was huge in the nice area, swimming pool nice addition,the manager also gave us contact to a local farm and the lady would come to our house with fresh vegetables and fruits if you want to explore the island you may consider renting a car,bc you will spend money on transportation unless you limit yourself to local busses,they drive over there on the opposite side like in UK and narrow roads,people are very nice and American dollars are very welcome You get 2 barbarian for one US Cost of living very expensive if you eat out or in you pay a lot unless you eat at local shacks Be careful on the sun use sunscreen and start with 50If you going with family or friends and plan to just stay in the house and kick back and enjoy the time away this is a perfect house and quiet area send a message to the owner and the property manager will contact you,he can arrange pick up for you at the airport and back He will be there for you all the time very nice person and I don’t know how to add photos

Beautiful House beautiful island

Beautiful Barbados. That is the best way to summarize our vacation. Everything about the house was exactly how it was shown on the website. Classy and clean. Waking in the morning to the spectacular view, swimming in the evening as the sun set... what else can a person want? Rooms are large and this house can accommodate a large party or a small one. We are beach people and explore to find the nicest least crowded beach. Found some very nice beaches close to the house. Shopping and food are close by also. I would highly recommend this house. For the most part we cooked at home. We found a great fresh fish market close to the house. Surfing is great in the southern part of the island - snorkeling at the bottom of the hill. All in all wish we could have stayed a few weeks!! Thank you for sharing your home with us.

Amazing Christmas and New Year stay at Harpers

This villa is amazing and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay here over Christmas and New Year. The property is spacious with massive bedrooms, all en-suite and air-conditioned, as well as a number of indoor and outdoor seating areas/verandahs to suit your mood. There is a wonderful view west towards the sea and we were greeted by a full rainbow on our first morning. The master bedroom balcony is the best for a beer and watching the sun set. The kitchen is very well equipped, and the pool was cleaned twice when we were there. The gardens are beautiful and we saw and heard so much wildlife, including a family of monkeys. The villa was cleaned twice while we were there - thanks to Deborah for looking after us. Minor point to note - hot water can take a few minutes to come through for showers - give it time! Very many thanks to Simon the villa manager who was always contactable. He met us at check-in, recommended places to eat, organised some groceries for when we arrived and allowed us to stay a bit later on check-out day as we had an evening flight. Our first visit to Barbados was truly memorable, and I am sure we will be back.
